Unfortunately there isn't really a shady place to watch it and really be able to see it. You could try along the edge of the circle where there are some trees but your view won't be as good. You would also need to get there pretty early to get a shady spot which wastes a lot of time and with so many people standing there to watch it your kids would be hard pressed to see unless you had them up on your shoulders. It is just a see of humanity. My suggestion would be to try and watch it first thing in the morning before the sun gets to hot or in the evening when it's going down. Good luck finding a good spot.
