Shady areas at water parks?

Can anyone give me some insight on the Disney water parks? I need to know if there are shady areas such as pavillions or the like? We have 3 kids and one is in need of total care. Additionally, he doesn't regulate his body temp well so the ability to give him shade is important. Our middle child wants to go to a water park so bad but we have held off because of our son. We can take him in the pools (we do at home) and can bring a clamp on fan for his wheelchair but I just don't want him to broil in the sun. If the water park isn't a good option, I would love recommendations for a hotel with a great pool set up (ps - we've done the Nick already).

Thanks

We found shade at both water parks. My recommendation is to go early (when the park opens) and you should be able to find what you need. Our experience was that the shady spots were taken early so if you do not go at opening, I'm not sure how easy they are to find.

You can find nice shades areas, especially in Typhoon Lagoon. We just got home from a trip to the water parks. Be sure to arrive first thing when the park opens. A good tip is to go to the left when entering. The crowds tend to go to the right!!! Also, At Blizzard Beach, the park fills up quickly and the people just keep coming. Last Tuesday, when we were at BB, we got one of the many covered areas (about 12x12). We put all of our towels out and arranged the chairs for 10 people. We still had to keep a person at this location ALL DAY!!!! People would come in, try to take chairs and move in!!! We actually had one family, come and sit down, then finally looked at us and asked if the area was taken!!! :scared1: We told them yes, the loungers and chairs were all taken...that is why there was bags, towels, shoes and clothes on everything!!! They finally left...but never apologized. :headache: After that, the areas with the shading became extremely crowded...all over the park. I am hoping that the day we were there was the exception, but the guests were extremely pushy and seemed to not care that others had arrived early to get a shady spot!!! We have been many times, but this was the worst.
Typhoon Lagoon on the day before was wonderful!!!!! Had absolutely no problems and was able to find nice shades areas and no-one ever crowded the areas. :)
Have a great time!!!!! Just be forceful and say this area is reserved!!!!
