My family and I are going down on the 29th. We are staying at AKL, but will be looking at other resorts while we are there. We were going to go look at the SOG, but don't know if we can just drive up there and go in and look around, or if we have to have a reservation there. Any information will be most helpful.

I'm interested to know the same. I read that with proper military ID you can go the restaurant, so I'm guessing you can look around a little.
I am assuming with our military ID, we can shop at the AAFES, on site. We are staying at the Poly. I'd like to get some bottled water. Sold there? Fair price?

I have always had to show my ID to get thru the gates but I have heard that they will allow non military in to eat. Can't hurt to try, if they say no then you will have your answer.

We were just there the end of June and were questioned at gate when we arrived before our son in law (the marine)...we showed our reservation slip and I think the guy was joking, but questioned us a bit...however, when we had friends who recently moved to Orlando come to SOG to join us for dinner one evening, we checked at the desk and they said to just have them tell the guard they are visiting a guest and give our room - they did and said they had no problem, later that week, my brother, whose family were staying at ASM, drove over in his rented car (the guys had a tee time) and he had no problem...., just said he was joining guests there for golf.
