Shades of Green

We have been to WDW two years ago and stayed at Poly and AKL. In June we will be staying at Shades of Green. Will we get the same perks...early entry, magic hours at night, etc. as if we were staying at a Disney resort?

Yes.

The Shades of Green is "technically" a Disney resort, it's just "owned" by the military in a manner of speaking. If I'm not totally correct, someone here on the DIS speak up and let us know. As I remember from my 2 stays at the SOG you are entitled to all the perks that guests get at the "true" Disney hotels.

SoG is owned by the military. They bought it from WDW. They have a renewable contract with WDW that allows their guests the same perks as WDW guests. It is similiar to the contract with Swan and Dolphin. When the Evening Magic Hour was started there was some dispute whether SoG was going to participate. But it seems management was able to resolve the issue and SoG does participate in both morning and evening hours. SoG also has a contract with WDW that allows them to book rooms with WDW when SoG is full. Hope this helps.
