I really have enjoyed reading these boards and I look foward to putting my "Two Cents" in.

I realize that SOG is not a WDW Resort. However, I was wondering if anyone knows the progress of their expansion.

My first post and certainly not my last.......

I believe they will re-open in about a year, fall of 2003. Until then military folk are being offered great rates at the Contemporary.

I'm also interested to know if the construction has started yet at SOG.

The last thing I heard in August was that the construction had not started yet.

Does anyone have an update????

I'm gonna bump this up... hoping someone has seen some construction going on. WE are anticipating on being there June2004, but if we can't, I know that they moved all ressies to Contemporary, but what about a new resie? What are the prices like? Same as what SoG would have been or just a reduced rate?

Last I heard, the one parking lot was roped off and it has begun to be torn up. I've also heard that they finally took my advice and are installing/have installed a webcam so you all can check in to take a look at the progress. I don't know if the cam is up and operational. If not, it should be soon.

I've been curious too! So sorry to be losing the "inside track" from first no, but glad he's still willing to answer questions. Web cam sounds like it'll be fun to watch - I'll be sure to look for it!

Yep, I'm still here. One of my best friends still works there and she fills me in. I'll give updates as I get them. BTW, I've always been a she and not a he (at least the last time I checked I was still a she).

SORRY FirstNo! It's funny how we make assumptions and I am SO embarrassed to have made such a mistake (bumping my head against the wall) - I took Noel to be a male name. Anyway I'm glad we still have a contact at SOG (if I'm forgiven). I don't post much but have appreciated your contributions during the changeover period of SOG's temporary closing and move to the Contemporary. I had reservations for October, we were among those moved to the Contemporary and went through the uncertainty of that time without calling them because of the information and reassurances you provided.

No big deal. Really. When I first got on AOL in 96, most people automatically assumed I was male because I was in the military. One of the joys of online interaction (G).

You'd be amazed at how many people have a difficult time pronouncing my name even after they know I'm female. Common mistaken pronunciation is "Nole" instead of "No-el." Believe it or not, some people get a bit snotty when I correct them. I've had to remind a few that there's no such Xmas Carol as "The First Nole." I've had this problem since childhood and have learned to live with it. Dad suggested changing my name, or spelling, but I explained to him my Xmas Carol concept and if others can't figure it out, it's their problem, not mine. And now you also know how I came about my SN (BG).
