Hey Ladies,

Does anyone know if for a shades of green wedding is just for someone in the military?

I noticed on their website for the intimate wedding package inquiry it mentions a military sponsor.

Shades of Green is a MWR(Moral, Welfare, and Rec) hotel for military and DOD. There is somewhere on their website a place to see who is allowed to use it.

My hubby is a Marine. I can get rooms there and reserve rooms for my family. But my family cannot call in and reserve the rooms themselves. I imagine a wedding would work the same way. If you or DF was not military/DOD than someone in your family(dad, uncle) could set it up for you.

If you aren't military, you have to have a sponsor. I don't think it has to be a relative, but the person has to be with you at your wedding.

Would a Veteran count?

I think it depends on when you want to have your wedding. If they are retired, they can be a sponsor any time of the year. Honorably discharged veteran, January or September. And they would need their DD-214 papers.

Those are the eligibility requirements for booking a vacation, so I would assume it's the same for wedding sponsorship.

You'll get the most reliable information by calling them. If you want the phone number to the sales office, just PM me and I'll send it your way. :thumbsup2
