Shades of Green Transportation for Races

My sister is thinking of staying at Shades of Green for the WDW marathon. Her husband will be doing his 2nd Goofy Challenge and she is doing her first marathon.

So for those of you who have stayed at SoG for races, how did you get to the start line and then the finish line?

Did you have anyone meet you at the finish line? If so, how did they get there from SoG.

SoG is a non served resort. Simply walk down the drive , through the Poly and to the TTC. It's about a half mile. From the TTC its off on the monorail to Epcot.

Spectators have a front door view along Floridian Way. If they want to go to the finish or other spots along the course, they really need to be out and across Floridian Way (poly side) before 6:10. That is about the time the front runners clear the SoG

I am also staying at SOG for my very 2nd Half in Jan.

Crossing over to poly and using their transportation is how i got there last year with no problems. SpectTors would take eitber the monora or disney buses to epcot to find finih area in parking lot. Or the option to view the race go by the Poly is good to. I found the encouragement from the crowds helpful also. That area is near mile 8 and runners could use the boost of cheers every step of the way. Thanks

Good to hear about trans options for SoG. That's where we are staying. First time at that resort.

Coming back to Dis for 1st marathon since Goofy in 2007.
