Did you get a dining plan/ what is the breakdown?

The cost for the DDP is the same as regular guests with a military package.

We ended up not doing the DDP. I ran the numbers and it did not make sense for our family. Even doing a bunch of character meals. We are also going to Universal for two days and meeting with friends off property for at least two to three meals so we would never use all the meals. We have never used the DDP before because we have always stayed at SOG and was never an option. I am going to put the money on a couple of gift cards and keep track of the amount to see what the difference really will be.

We really felt having access to FP+ early made the slight difference in increase in price staying in a Disney resort worth it for us vs. staying at SOG at least this time.

If you have a room only reservation they will need to convert it to a package. You'll have to redo your MB choices.m

What base or area? Most bases in Hampton Roads have them, Langley included.

They do special order them (we are in Phoenix so close to DLR and they carry those on base) but it took less than a week to get them in for us.

True! And they cannot tell me if or when this will happen! This will truly be the first time we stay more than one night at a Disney resort. We have always stayed at SOG as it has always been cheaper for us and we still got EMH. We never really cared about the DDP as it never really made sense for the way we eat.

But if you are staying on property (at a Disney resort) you can link your military tickets to your MB and then use the FP+ system even the day of.

If advanced FP+ reservations remain restricted to Disney resorts, SOG likely will not be included because Disney does not have access to their reservations system, much like the Swan/Dolphin.

If they open advanced FP+ to all guests, it won't matter. But you still likely won't get MagicBands except by purchase.
