Hi all,

We're taking our next trip to Disney at the end of January. I can hardly wait. My mother-in-law and niece are joining us and will be staying at Shades of Green. I was wondering if anyone can answer a couple of questions for me.

What is the Shady Shuttle?

Can you request a certain room location like you can at all the Disney Resorts?

Are there coffee makers in the rooms and do they work well? My mother-in-law is a big coffee drinker and can't stand lukewarm coffee.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer. :wave2:

I was there before they started the shady shuttle, I think it is golf cart (?) that takes you to the end of the road so you can get to the Polynesian easier. It takes about 10 minutes to walk otherwise.

YES, there are coffee makers as well as coffee/creamer/etc. in all of the rooms, as well as a small fridge.

My DH and I stayed at SoG last october and are going abck this October for our 2nd anniversary. We LOVED SoG, the rooms are beautiful and huge! You can request a room, but the do not gurantee it. THe earlier you get there tio check in the better chance you may have at getting the room or area you want.

Also, the Shady Shuttle I think refers to the buses they have. There is an A bus and a B bus. One takes you to the TTC and runs every 15 minutes. The other one takes you to get a bus for the AK and DTD, and I can't remember what else. That one runs every half hour.

They do have go carts that will take you to the POLY to get on the monorail if they see you as they go by they will take you there. We had this happen once.

Oh and yes ther is a coffee maker in the room, however we did not use it. We got our coffee downstairs at the little cafe that is on the way to where the buses are. Do you have any other questions? Feel free... :earsgirl: ::MinnieMo

Yes, the Shady Shuttle is a golf cart (holds about 4-5 people) that travels back and forth between the SOG lobby area and the end of the road where you cross the street to the Poly to take the monorail. It is just hit or miss whether you catch it or not, but boy is it a welcome sight when you come back from the parks hot and tired and see that golf cart sitting there!

There are coffee makers in the rooms. I don't drink coffee, but my mom is pretty picky about hers and she seemed okay with it.

You can request certain room locations, but I've never done it so I don't know the best way to go about it. I do know that you have to pay extra for a poolside room, so that is not something you can "request" as a room location if you didn't reserve that kind of room. I have heard of people requesting either the new wing or the old wing, though. If walking is an issue, you may want to request something close to the front - it is a LONG walk down that hallway to the back of the old wing! :faint:
