Hey, folks - I've just finished booking three packages for my family and my in-law family for next May when my husband is home from OIF on R&R. Here's the pricing for anyone who was thinking about using one of the packages **note** the R&R package we created is for 4 "adults", 2 children, and one infant):

:sunny:

R&R Package
  • One room (7 nights)
  • Breakfast and dinner buffets every day at Garden Gallery
The room, breakfast and dinners cost $1267 for my husband and I, two teenagers, two children, and one infant. :jumping1:
Park tickets for Stars and Stripes are an additional $263 per adult and $225 per child (3-9) but you get an additional 4% off that for R&R. That is for 7-day MYW Premium tickets.

Gold Leaf Package
My in-laws are not staying in our room so they had to book using the Gold Leaf package. For two adults, the package was as follows:
  • One room (7 nights)
  • Breakfast and dinner buffets every day at Garden Gallery *EXCEPT* for
    one dinner at Mangino's
  • 6-day MYW Premium tickets (upgrade to 7-day for $3)
  • a Welcome gift
  • a $20 gift certificate to the SOG gift shop
All that for two adults was $1551.

See you at Disney! :earboy2:

Tina

(P.S. My husband is an E5. Higher ranks may incur additional cost.)

Thanks for the info !!! I wish the SOG site had a few more facts. Looking at your in-law's package, I'm guessing the same length for us, 2 adults, 1 teenager, would be about $1951...my DH is E6. Of course not as good a deal as what I had booked for Sept...7 nights at POP, premium 7 day tickets, and free dining for $1245...we had to cancel though, DH couldn't get leave...and the SOG rooms are twice the size of the POP rooms. I really want to stay at SOG though, it looks absolutely beautiful...I'm just waiting to see if free dining ever comes up again.

Thank you so much for this info! I originally just had a room booked until I came across this info. I did not know they had packages. Anyway, I just booked the Gold Leaf Package!

We are going on April 28-May 3rd. There are 5 people (DH, me, DS12, DS7 and DS5).

Our package includes:

**5 nights hotel accomodation
**4 Day MYW premium tickets (includes park hopper and the water parks)
**Breakfast Buffet and Dinner buffet at Garden Gallery
[She said if we don't want breakfast we can substitute lunch at Evergreens. She also said that one night we can eat at Manginos instead of Garden Gallery]
**Souvenir plate from Manginos
**Welcome gift
**$20 gift certificate for the Shades of Green store

I'm so excited that I can barely stand it!

What exactly are the guidelines? Do you have to get a voucher or do they have the info in a computer that you did not eat the breakfast buffet? Are you simply given the same dollar amount credit at Evergreens that your breakfast buffet would have cost? Do you have to eat at Evergreens during certain hours....like 11am-2pm?

Sorry, but this seems like something I would like to have in writing.

we stayed at SOG last Sept using the meal plan. The price is good, but I would not do it again. We didn't have a car, we relied on buses. We spent more time trying to get back and forth to eat then we did in the parks! At least it felt that way, I'm sure it's not actually true. The bus schedule is really bad, most of the buses only run once an hr. That's basically an hr before and after each meal that we wasted trying to get back to SOG so we could eat during the times the buffet or Evergreen's was open. My kids also were not thrilled with buffet offerings. The breakfast buffet was really just cold cereal or oatmeal, one or two choices of muffins/bagels/pastries, and maybe some waffles or something. They were looking for more fresh fruit, pancakes, differnent flavored muffins, etc. If it was just adults or adults with older teens and you have a car it might not be bad. For us, with small kids, my mother who insists she has to eat slowly or she'll have indigestion, and no car, it just isn't worth it.

Also, you do know that SOG has stopped participating in EMH?

Sleepy,

We ate most breakfasts in the rm or grabbed something at the counter place by the buses on the way out. We came back to Evergreen's for lunch instead. They give you a paper ticket for each member of your group. It says how many days the plan is good for and the dates. Each time you eat a meal they write the date on the ticket. I think they use one side of the ticket for breakfast/lunch and the other for dinner meals. Breakfast is only offered at certain times, like 7am-10am. The buffet closes for lunch but Evergreen's opens. At Evergreen's you order off the menu. One server told us we had to use a seperate menu, but it was the exact same menu as the regular one. You can order one drink and one food item, there might have been a dollar amount but I don't remember. I do know we never had to pay for anything we ordered. The buffet opens for dinner around 4 or 4:30 and closes around 8:30 or 9pm. My kids weren't into the fanciness of Mangino's so we just did an additional buffet dinner.

Wow, that is really downhill from the buffet they had up until 2001 when we had our last vacations. The breakfast buffet had EVERYTHING imaginable! Eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, biscuits, muffins, different fresh fruits, grits, oatmeal, diced potatoes.....the list went on and on. It was like eating breakfast at Golden Corral. (after the first 2 days we had to say enough was enough....we were ready for a nap before we even hit the parks....lol) Guess times have changed. Not so sure I would want to pay that much for a breakfast that looked more like grab and go. Evergreens does seem you would get more bang for your buck.

Well, I will definately be placing a call to Shades of Green tomorrow to see if they buffet is still grab and go as it was in September. If it is still like that it might not be such a good deal afterall. We have rented a vehicle so we won't have to depend on Disney transportation while we are there anyway.

The person that made my reservation said that they are sending out confirmation. She said the sheet would have all the details on it.
