Shades of Green laundry/room charging

My husband will be home for R&R in May 2006 . We're coming to WDW for a week and staying at SOG. I'm mentally ironing out some of the small details and was wondering if:

(a) you can use your room card to charge in resorts like Disney-owned resort guests can; and
(b) the laundry facilities are busy or easy to get in to.

Hi there! I hope you will have a very special R&R visit to WDW!

To answer your questions:

(a) No, you can't use your room key to charge, unfortunately.
(b) We used the laundry facilities twice last week. Once in the morning and once
during a late afternoon. There were many washers and dryers available and only
one other person was doing laundry at those times. We used the facility on the 3rd
floor in the new section; I wonder if the one(s) nearer the pool areas might
be busier.
