Does anyone know what the rate is for a civilian contractor who works full time for the DoD? According to the website they are eligible to stay at SoG, but they don't mention the rate. Also, do they pay the same price for tickets as regular military, or do they have a seperate rate?

They pay the highest rates listed.

The rates are tied to their rank. For example, if your husband is a GS-13, look in the rate file to determine what the rate will be. The file is on their website, you can download it from Help and Information (PDF Dowload Section) to determine the per night rate as well as the different types of tickets they offer. The tickets prices are the same for everyone across the board (ie Military or DoD). :dance3:

I would bet that you fall under the O1-O3, W1-W3, and GS 1-GS 10 scale which is around 103 a night depending on you room. My DH will be an O3 when we go in June and we are paying 103 per night for a room in the new building. You may want to call in ask so you know for sure. Worse case scenario is you fall in the highest category you end paying a little more than that. Just know that you are getting a really good deal for your money. :thumbsup2

This is actually for my BIL, my dh is an O-3, so we know what rate he pays. Do contractors have ranks? I haven't talked to my BIL in depth about this, but he said that for the most part they just have a general contractor rate for these things, sometimes he pays the highest rate and sometimes it's the lowest. He looked over the SoG rates page and said he didn't see anything that pertained to him. I'm guessing he will just need to call, then?

If you are planning to go with them then you could just make reservations for them at your husbands pay grade.

I am a DoD contractor. I didn't know this existed. I am going next week. How do you book?
