SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Thread

We have US Cellular and have had no problems anywhere at SOG or Disney.

Gook luck with that.

Must be my sucky phone and/or provider. I have been thinking about changing to Verizon anyway since I have everything at home (home phone, fios and computer) through Verizon. I just pay so little with T-Mobile. But, as I always tell DH, you get what you pay for.

Anyone with Verizon have issues at Shades?

We've had Verizon for years and have never had any issues at SOG.

Hello everyone! I will be checking in with my 4 and 1 year olds on Halloween. I am hoping to request a room as close to the lobby as possible, my dh won't be joining us until later in the trip so I will be dragging kids, gear and luggage alone! Any suggestions on where to request? And also do I call beforehand to put in a request or wait until we get there?

None of the rooms are "really" close to the lobby. Call now and put in a request.

2101 is very close to the lobby. We've had that room before and it's the closest.

OK, sorry for this rookie question, but: does anyone know if you can add a day to the special 4-day hopper tickets? I will be there for five days and would love to spend every single day in the parks. Or will I have to just buy a one-day ticket?

We used the military salute tickets in July, and couldn't add a day. What we did is choose the one park a day option and added the water parks and more, so we got an additional 4 entries on each ticket. One day we went to Blizzard Beach and when we got rained out, went over to Disney Quest and then some of us went to mini golf on the last day, too - it seemed like a really good value and we really didn't miss the park hopper because we usually pick one park to visit each day, anyway. We did get an extra one day ticket for everyone at the base here before we left, also. We didn't stay at SOG, so we wanted to be able to hit the park at RD without going to SOG to get tickets first.

There are new pics of the pool reno on the fb page. Still no official opening date due to finishing touches, but it's getting there.

Thanks! We 'll give it a try.

I agree. 2101 and the rooms in that area are really close to the lobby. We always ask for 2102 "or as close to that as possible." We usually get pretty close. This year we ended up in 3104. It's up one level from the lobby, but still close. Your best bet is to call them now and have them add your request. Then just give them a reminder when you check in. Good luck!

We got our ticket preorder form from SOG today. YAY, getting more real. :cool1:

Do they automatic send these out close to your trip or do you have to request them?... I got one last time but I don't remember how it worked.:scratchin

Yes, they automatically send it. We also got one in 2011, but at about 2 weeks out, this one was closer to 3.5. It's so nice to just check in and be handed our tickets/vouchers. Since we won't be going to the parks til the day after we check into SOG, we plan to activate them (discounted military 4 day hoppers) right after we check in. The plan is to go tour WL so we'll go by the TTC and activate them at some point so we can just head to AK for RD the next morning.

111 days to go! And I got a great deal on airline tickets last night through SW. Just $200 (well, $218 to be exact) round trip from Baltimore. Not too shabby. :thumbsup2

Is there a place to activate them at Downtown Disney? that's where we are going the first day...:flower3:

Hey guys, does anyone know if theSOG ticket office sells the MVMCP tickets or do you have to order from disney?

Yep! DH and I did that on our honeymoon earlier this month. Just go to guest services (near the Ghirardelli shop, IIRC) and they can do everything right there. Much better than trying to activate them at a park before rope drop next morning!

That's great to know. When we go in Feb, we will be doing DTD on Sunday and the parks starting Monday so it will be great to activate them there instead of at the park. Thanks! :thumbsup2
