Do you put them up/open in the morning, or keep them down all day?

In this house- after you get out bed, and make it the next think you do is open the miniblinds..all the way up...

the only one to stay down is the bathroom one- until we're done showering etc. then it goes up

They go back down when the sun goes down and the lights are turned on.

Drives me crazy to go into a house that is so dark during the day...LOVE sun light here

Which way do you have yours? up/down open/closed?

The same as you. The only time the curtain stays drawn is when I can't see the computer screen properly.

Pretty much we leave the mini blinds down all the time, but we turn them so the light can come in. When we have company I put them up so more light can come in.

We have sheers on the main windows in the family room and living room so they let in light but we have room darkening shades in 2 of the bedrooms that stay down all the time. The curtains are also closed in the office. That is really because of glare.

When we had mini blinds we'd keep them down. I would just twist them open a little so some light came in. Not all the way though.

I can't stand the thought that people can see into my house. My mom leaves everything at her house wide open. Drives me batty. If I can see people outside I figure they can see me and I'm not ok with that.

For me the sheers let in enough light that I don't have to turn on lights but don't let people see in either.

I never pull the blinds up, but I do 'open' them by turning them open for light to come in - I hate being in a dark house, too.

My curtains are all for decor only, don't even think they'd cover the entire window if I tried! =)

That's us too. The front windows face east and have arched tops - tons of sun coming in there. They have blinds that we open during the day (not raise) and drapery panels on the sides that are for looks only. The other windows are all mixed and matched blinds/curtains/drapes/whatever. Usually don't raise any blinds tho, just open.:sunny:

I open all curtains right after getting out of bed.

WHen I had mini blinds, they were down all the time, but I opened them during the day with the wand. THe ones in the bedroom are down all the time and closed.
Now I have sheers in the LR/DR. I also have those "temporary" shades (the ones that are accordian style) on the south windows. They are down to the middle all the time due to the glare of the sun.
Of course the sheers are over the windows all the time. I love the sunlight too.

I tape aluminum foil to the windows so I really can't remove that during the day. Sometimes I thumb tack bath towels up to block out additional light and I will take those down. The aluminum foil stays up all the time though.

Bedrooms-Open as soon as it starts to get light, Closed when its dark
