SH71 Prime Rib

Has anyone gotten the prime rib for dinner but had the Yorkshire pudding left off?

ETA: Maybe I should ask first how the pudding is served. Is it on the side or on top of the prime rib? My DH loves prime rib, but he's skeptical of the pudding.

Are you worried that it will be soggy? I got my steak sauce on the side so there wasn’t a lot of juices on the plate. They put the pudding on the plate and I just put it on another plate, it was fine. You can always just ask not to have it on the same plate.

I took it off and put it on my bread plate because I didn't want it to get all soggy,,, It was great !!!

NO! Neither of us had any idea! We just assumed it was pudding, like Jello pudding. It never occurred to us that it was something like bread pudding. Boy, this shows how unrefined we are!!!

LOVE Yorkshire pudding. Prime Rib and Yorkshire pudding go hand in hand

The biggest difference between Yorkshire pudding and pop overs is that Yorkshire pudding is made from beef drippings and has a more greasy texture taste and pop overs are generally butter based. There both good but Yorkshire pudding definitely has a different taste.

Yorkshire Pudding on the left of the plate. Very good meal. The French Onion soup is also great. SH71 is our new favorite when staying at BLT. Still miss the Wave breakfast buffet though.

Yorkshire pudding is a basic pancake batter mix without sugar. Traditionally it is served on Sundays with roast beef. The batter is poured into the roasting tray, while the meat is resting and so cooks in the beef fat/dripping. It was used to bulk out a meal when meat was scarce.
