We just found out that we will be in the area for a few days and want to know what are the must sees, good places to stay and eat.

Yosemite is so vast where is the best part to spend a day or two. What accomidations are close to that area. I have looked at the website. It looks beautiful but I am having a hard time narrowing it down to where to go and what to see.

The Valley and the area above the floor of the valley, (can't remember what it is called) and the Mariposa grove of tall trees. Plan for a lunch at the Ahwanee Hotel.

If at all possible stay in Yosemite accomodations in the park (I think the lodge is the most centrally located). We stayed at a beautiful lodge just south of the park (Tenaya Lodge) which was only about 20 minutes from Mariposa Grove (which is awesome), but it took us at least 1 1/2 hours to get to the valley floor.

The scenery is awesome. We went in early April so about half of the roads were closed because they still had snow. We enjoyed driving around looking at the waterfalls. etc. We also enjoyed the village located in the visitors center at the valley. If I go back, I would love to rent bikes for riding along the river and exploring. It is a beautiful place.
