Sexuality (accepting or not)

I am completely accepting. My parents aren't religious so they don't care, but when my dad makes jokes about them, I tend to get really angry.

I think everyone was created equal, so there's nothing different about them.

In fact, my cousin thinks I just love gay men. XD
My 2 favourite people are Adam Lambert and Freddie Mercury.

Well technically, Adam's bicurious and Freddie was bisexual :p

:lovestruc

I'm very accepting of it.
To me, love is love, no matter who it is between. It really annoys me when people have something against it, i mean it's not affecting them at all. It's good that people can find love in this world.
And anyways if you don't like it then go away. I mean it's not like you're being forced to witness it.

I think I'm accepting. I'll probably give you a weird look when I first meet you, because that's just not what I'm used to. But I don't really care who you love or who you're intimate with. Do what makes YOU happy. And you can bet your rear end that if anyone denies you rights, I will fight for you until you're equal.

You as in the GLBTQ person.

This is going to sound weird.... But my parents raised me to accept anyone and I'm completely fine with homosexuality. But bisexuality bugs me. When people says they're bi-curious, I don't mind. It's only when somebody commits to the label of bisexuality. I feel like they're just confused and will just get over it soon.

Please don't bash me, it's just my opinion.

Not going to bash you, just adding my point of view as a bisexual.

For me, there's no confusion. I just don't "lean" more towards men or women. I like each gender the same. I can go to the beach and admire a good-looking man just as many times as I'll admire a good-looking woman. I'm a Kinsey 3, pretty much. Even if I get married (be it to a man or a woman), I'll never "get over it" to use your words. It's something that's going to be with me for the rest of my life. I'll still admire people of the opposite (or same) sex as my spouse, just as any heterosexual wife would admire a good-looking man.

Like I said, not bashing you, just adding my view.

IDC...I have a gay uncle and cousin, but were cool. I just don't like when people just flaunt what they are though. Like at gay pride parades. There are no Straight Pride Parades why are you so special.

Haha, that reminds me of Borat.

Yes! I totally agree. personally, I don't care. It's your life, not mine. (there's also some religious views but I won't get into that)

Patti, you took the words right out of my mouth.

I was afraid to say anything!

But yeah, I won't "get over it". I'm not "confused". I'll be like "ooh, he's hot" and then check out some girl across the room. "ooh, she's hot, too". One of my best friends is bi, and we joke about this all the time. I'll say some guy is hot, and he agrees. Quite fun, actually.

Reminds me of when people say 'why is there a black history month, there's no white history month!'

I think the whole Gay Pride/Lesbian Pride/Black Pride/White Pride thing is stupid. As long as we keep separating ourselves, racism will always be around.

That said, I can kind of see the point in GLBTQ Pride parades. To me, it's a "We're here, we're queer, and we're not going away" thing to try and get rid of the stigma of being gay in our society.

I think that's unfair because I think everyone is that way. If your a woman, chances are you've had a girl crush. If you're a man, you'll have a man crush. I personally think Cheryl Cole is gorgeous. If I saw CC, I'd say "ooh she's hot!", but if I saw Brad Pitt next to her, I'd say "ooh, he's hot!" too. The only one I'd act on is Brad Pitt.
Bisexuality kind of annoys me, TBH. Not the people who are bisexual, just bisexuality itself. It's a "pick one - you can't have your cake and eat it too" thing for me. If I were in a relationship with a bisexual man who left me for another man, I would be devastated.

Tom, they are just trying to get a point out there.
they had rallies standing of for civil rights, when the black community was fighting to be viewed as equals.

Honestly, thats how i see it.
the GLBTQ community, fighting to be viewed as equals and not looked down upon.

Prejudice is all the same.
Whether its based on race, gender, sexuality, etc.

Everyone is equal in my eyes.

i'm pretty sure that if we got down to an exact biological analysis, every bisexual would have a true preference that their body responds to more. i'm sure there are rare exceptions to that, but i highly doubt that this many people truely don't have a sexual preference.

........

I'm going to stay out of this thread from now on.

Without pride, no one would push for equal rights.

Without pride, no one would push for equal rights.

Yes but once equal rights are achieved, why is there still a need for the "pride"? Blacks are now equal to Whites, yet the two races are still separated because of things like Black History Month.
GLBTQ do not have equal rights, hence the pride parades. Like I said earlier, I understand why. But once they achieve equal rights, the pride parades should stop.

Because straight is considered "normal" and homosexuality is considered wrong (this is based on the people I grew up with) if you are gay you are treated like your worthless and your something stuck to their shoe, people ignore you just for the simple fact you like the same sex...no one does that to a straight person, no one has ever said to me "I don't like you because your straight" but my friends have had to hear "I hate you because your a f***ing ***"....and that was just from his mother!!! my point is people accept straight people because it is considered the norm.

again this is just based on what I grew up with.

Blacks aren't equal to whites. While the two races are equally protected under our laws, the racism for both races still exists. Racism comes out of hatred, not pride. Pride is the answer to racism, sexism, etc. Pride's become a subculture in our society.

Mmm, me too! Gays are sexy.

I don't really know how to explain, but both races are equals. Just because some radical idiot needs to make comments, from both parties, about the other party doesn't mean they're not equal.
