ITA. Taking precautions is one thing but it sounds like the OP is saying she won't let her kids outside at all anymore. That to me is taking it too far especially since no one knows the true story.

I agree. You can't keep kids in a bubble. and then to try for absolutely no reason is very sad.

OP - did you ever find out what was going on? As other said, call the police business line or walk in the police station to find out.

To the poster that was molested..I am so sorry and thank you for sharing your story.

To the probation officer, that story about the 16 year old repeatedly molesting his sister is sickening. Will anything happen to the parents for this? I really think they need to hold some accountability.

To everyone, a reminder, it is not usually the people you do not know, it is someone in your family or a trusted friend that commits the offenses against children.
