Ive done that but i just cant get it to work. Can you recommend maybe different machine?
This first - exhaust this route before buying a new machine. Before you run out and buy a new machine, take your machine to a repairman and have it cleaned and tuned up. To find a repairman, either look up "Sew and Vac" shops in the phone book or call a quilt shop and ask them who to call.
You might be very surprised at the difference a good cleaning and tune up makes.
I've got a Singer as well, and there are a few fabrics that I just can't run through it. I've started a project just to have the bobbin thread knot up on me.
My fix? Keep a tight pull on the back of the fabric to get it through. You aren't supposed to do that because of the presser foot and the risk of stretching the fabric, but I get my stuff done. I cannot run thick or very thin fabric through my machine without issue. Through practice I've gotten used to it's quirks. I don't think my presser foot has enough push to carry the fabric through properly.
The best machine I ever had was a Bernina (sp?). It is my moms and it worked wonders. It was also very expensive.
I don't sew enough to warrant investing in an expensive machine. If I did more, I would.
