I don't have directions per se, but I just pulled out the one I bought at a craft show for my grandson to look at. It's very cute---trimmed in blue gingham ribbon and his name is monogrammed across the top of the hood.
Here's how it looks like it's put together....
I believe the hood is made from a hand towel, not a wash cloth. One end is folded over, and that makes the edge of the hood. I'm guessing the hand towel may be cut down a little in order to make a hood that will fit a small child. There is a "T" seam in the back of the hood, and at the bottom of the "T" is where it attaches to the mid part of the towel itself. The towel has a small "dart" sewn about 5 or 6" long on one of the long sides (this is where the hood attaches. The dart seems to make for more of a fitted cover-up. In the back, just under the dart, the ribbon is attached and is probably about a yard in length (it's about 1 1/2" in width). THe edge that is folded over as I said before is the front of the hood, and his monogram is just above that. The "T" seam is about 3" on the top of the "T", and the longer line of the "T" seam is about 6".
I wish I had a better way to show you this, but I still haven't hooked up my digital camera to my computer to scan pictures through it. Maybe this weekend I'll get a chance to. I know a picture is worth a thousand words, and I really wish I could show you one of this.
I hope this may help you some. The towels are both a heavier weight, not the very thin ones. As I said before, I bought mine at a craft show, and the girl who made these sold them all in no time flat! WHat an idea she had! (Wish I was that clever....)
