My dgrdd who is almost 9 yrs old. She has a Winnie the Pooh comforter that is slowly disintregating. It is for a crib but she uses it on her bed and cannot sleep without it. It is so threadbare now. I was thinking that if I took it apart, put some fine fusiable webbing on the underside to keep it from coming apart then put the old bottom on it. Then put batting on then a new bottom. Will it work? I will only have a few hours to do this as she has to have it for the night. Any suggestions or help?

Ok, I can tell I need to go to bed early tonight. I was wondering why someone was posting about a problem with their sewer, and what poo had to do with it.

The fusable interfacing is a good idea though. Or possibly adding a whole new layer of cloth underneath and stitching it quilt style around the Pooh bear design.

Off to put myself to sleep before I misread anything else.

I ended up using fusible interfacing on the back of the top part of the blanket. I then put the original back on then a layer of batting, and finally a new backing. I then quilted around Winnie the Pooh, the tree and the edging decoration. I then put on a binding around the edge. It wasn't done perfectly as I have never done this before but my dgrdd just loves it. Hopefully it will now last a couple more years.
