I've been reading a lot of post recently commenting on sewage problems (smells and water damage) on the Magic. Some have talked about problems in the the larger suites, while others have mentioned issues with Deck 6.

Does the Magic have major sewage problems? We've never noticed this with the Wonder. I'm a little nervous about our next cruise. Thanks for the info!:D

We just closed that door while we were gone and seemed to eventually go away. Funky smell though. We were Deck 6.

I should edit to note that we also had no visible sewage and the odor was for only one or two days and we noted it to Richie our cabin steward then closed the door. Not sure if he did something or just closing the door helped the venitilation. Definitely didn't effect the trip.

There was a whole post about this last week. We only had an odor (Deck 6) one day in our room and it was because the seas were rough and the room steward said sometimes the gases come back up (no visible sewage though!). We had brought room freshner, plus she did something and the smell was gone when we got back to the room.

I really don't think this is anything to worry about. I'm sure it happens on the Wonder, too (And RCCL, NCL, HA, etc.).

Never even noticed a problem during our May Magic cruise. We were midship deck 6. - Mike

We brought one of those "car" air fresheners. The kind that come in that plastic bag, and has a string on it.

It looped nicely around the corner cabinet in the split bath that had the toilet.

We used as a precautionary measure and did not notice any odor.

One of the tricks to help eliminate the odor is to pour several cups of water down the drain in the floor of the bathrooms. That helps keep the odor down where it belongs instead of up in the room where you want to breathe.

We had some smells on either the last cruise or the cruise before that......i'm loosing count of them now!! We have a cat.4 near the front of the ship.....the host came in a few times and put some special cleaner in the toilets and in the sinks and tubs....it helped and we never had anymore problems.

I'm alot nervous about our next cruise. We had this problem on deck 2. So I don't think this is limited to certain decks. Our problem lasted 3 days and who knows if it was longer, because finally we changed rooms. At the time, I didn't know I could have just left the bathtub water running 24/7 and the odor would have dissipated. This time I know.
