Yay for another park bag! I have fabric to make another one for me - an AK themed bag, but I haven't started on it yet.
Your Epcot plans look good. I think you'll be fine with that fp schedule. I've heard that the standby line for Test Track first thing in the morning always looks longer than it really is. Either way, you have 55 minutes before your Soarin' window opens, so you'll be good even if the line is a little long. If a miracle happens and you get through Test Track quickly, you could check on MS and see if it has a short standby line. Then you could ride it before your Soarin' window expires and have plenty of time for the WS.
If someone in your group has a smartphone or other device with the MDE app, you could always check to see if you can switch the fp times of a ride while you are in the park. When we were in WDW this past Dec, Jan and March, we were able to move around our fp times for the rides that were not the headliners. For example, we walked over to Buzz Lightyear, saw that the standby line was 35 minutes. I went into my MDE account and found a fp that began in 5 minutes. I changed my fp to it and walked into the fp line five minutes after changing the fp time. It was really cool. I'm not sure how crowded it is in August, though. It was also cool to switch our fp times while riding the bus to the park. It doesn't work for the headliner rides but you'd be surprised how many rides it does work for. That being said, when we were there in March during heavy spring break crowds, we mostly kept our original fp times. It was easier that way.
Sunshine Seasons sounds like a great place for counter service because it has something for everyone - and it is not too expensive. There is a half a chicken with black beans and rice that is a real value.
First...I don't 'think' there is anything back where the old FOTLK used to be...but I am not sure.
And second, if I were to be able to go to Disney in August this year it would not work with your dates...I would have to disguise it as an anniversary trip! And since the kids start back to school on the 13th, it would have to be over by then... although...if I had gotten APs last December I could have taken a day trip.... (hind sight and all that!)
Nini
I can't wait to see your outfits and bags for the parks.
It sounds like you have more than enough to do before your trip.
I will take some pictures from my trip so you can see where I've been when I come back

Lottie is so cute. Chef Mickey's is one of out favorites. There is something for everyone and my son in law is a very picky eater. Your plans look good. EPCOT is my favorite park. I always tell people I want to move there and live in apartment above Canada so I can watch the people go by all day and watch Illuminations at night. Not that there is really an apartment there.
You've been really busy in your sewing room. The park bag and not park bag sound nice.
I had lunch with a good friend of mine yesterday. Her son is a football coach in Fort Pierce. It turns out she'll be visiting him when we're at Disney so we're meeting somewhere for lunch on the day she's flying home. I had bought the pink Vera Disney bag last year on the day it came out it was too pink for me so I sold it to her. She loves pink and we're both happy now.
We're going to the zoo today. They have a new baby giraffe.
I hope everyone has a good day today.
Well at least you figured out that you can make another bag out of all the extra pieces. Can't wait to see how they turn out.
Looks like another great day of plans.
This is it... So sad... Our final full park day... Of course - it's MK... And we have several Must-Dos today, along with a few new things to try. It promises to be a LONG day for all of us! We start off with a long standing Must-Do... A pre-park-opening ADR at Crystal Palace. This is one we always do on our last MK day... We are usually done with this ADR right as the park opens, so it's always perfect timing. We will start off in Adventureland with POTC and JC... Working our way around to SM and possibly BTMRR... Depending on time, we may try for HM? Our first FP window is 11am-12pm with A&E!Still cannot believe I snagged this one... I wouldn't have event tried - but we all know how much V insists on getting ALL of the character autographs on her pillowcase... Then, our next FP is SDMT from 12:20-1:20. I did 2 FPs for this one over the duration of our trip, because I have heard that the lines for it are long and it's not worth the wait. So, I just erred on the side of caution and FPed it. Our final FP is for SM at 2:25-3:25... I plan to spend a good portion of the afternoon in Tomorrowland - trying to stay indoors to beat the heat as much as possible... Hoping we can add on to our FPs at this point with *not as popular* FPs for BLSRS and others... Of course, we have our must dos of CoP, MI -LF, TTA - and our Stuffed Cream Cheese pretzels - which we should be hungry for right about now. We have our 6:45pm ADR at BoG... Really looking forward to this one! I know that BFF and O will enjoy it too. When we check in, I am going to ask if there is anyway we can be seated in the room with the rose in it (what's it called?) - it was only by accident that we were seated there last time, and we loved it.
After that - it's my plan to spend some more time in Fantasyland, both before and after our above ADR... The rides are much less crowded there in the evening, and I am looking forward to showing BFF around. I am also hoping to FP Dumbo and Ariels' Grotto to save us some time. If at all possible - I'd like to try to head back to Frontierland and ride SM one or 2 more times. MK closes "early" tonight at 9pm... And we plan to be there open to close with out any breaks. I figure with 2 sit down meals, and not much backtracking - we should be OK. I hope. We will take our time exiting the park - browsing the shops and maybe finding a bench just to sit and enjoy our final minutes in MK. I know there will be tears going down my face this time, as it will be my very last time viewing the castle with my girls together - until they are much, much older with children of their own. It will be a very bitter-sweet trip for me. Cry. I hope to be back to our rooms by 11pm... I plan to have us mostly packed tonight, with exception to the items we will need in the morning. D~

Someone mentioned Donald at Tusker House; no he is no longer there at the front for pictures. He walks around the room with the rest of the characters. I'm hoping you have a better experience that we did in June; our service was awful and we won't be going back for some time. The food was still pretty good.
Your last park day sounds amazing! It will be long but by taking it slow and enjoying air conditioning I know you will be fine!
I hear you on the bitter sweet trip. I have a lot of changes going on in my life right now that will probably result in this being the "last" August trip as my family knows it. I will be blubbering at the end as well. I know that we will be back again just not as the "Fab 5".
This sounds like a perfect last day. It's so sad that each time there is a last day. I always want to keep the magic flowing!! I would cry too if I thought it was our final trip- I kind of cry anyway when it is over haha.

i finally read everything and am caught up!
I love all your plans for the days you posted. It sounds like you really thought everything through and made sensible FP+ choices. It is hard to think so far in advance what you may be doing, but I think it will make for a much smoother experience. I made my FP+ choices based only on the attractions I wanted with no regard to location. I'll probable be doing a lot of back-tracking or changing of FP while there!
Lottie is just adorable! She should go to Disney with you as your mascot! HaHa, wouldn't that be fun NOT! Imagin the surprise for the security people at bag check at the parks!
I was thinking about Chiara the other day and almost PMed you to ask about her. I'm so glad you're getting a chance to meet her finally. And I'm glad everything is well with her.
I had to laugh when Nini suggested the Donald ears were a little much and to send them to her . She always cracks me up!
I'm glad you're getting lots done in your sewing room. Adding an outfit and another bag seems a bit much at this late date, but if you think you can do it, more power to you! I know I always moved heaven and earth to get something for my kids when it was something special like this. Can't wait to see the photos of all your bags you're working on as well as your outfits. This is going to be, well, EPIC!!
I hope Josh's back is improving each day. You mentioned he had to use his Tenns unit the other day. I hope that's not an every day need!
Have you heard from your Dad? I assume he made it safely to his destination. I hope he's having a wonderful time. It's so nice that he gets a chance to get away for a while.
Have a great day!
ahhhhhhhhhh Thank you!!!!
this is not good news...
D all your plans sound amazing! Hate writing about last days. makes you sad so so sad. and the trip isn't even started!!! Im not doing a last day on my PTR..
Love everything and cannot wait to see all your creations. and now i am HUNGRY for Meatloaf!!!! Josh's veggies are OUT OF THIS WORLD
Dee, love your MK plans.
Fast pass window - you should be able to get in the fp line five minutes early. And I've heard that you can be up to 15 minutes late and they will still let you in.
BOG - the room with the rose is the West Wing. We have only eaten lunch there with the special lunch fp and the library is our favorite spot to eat.
We went on a last trip with our family of five. We Knew that the next time we went it would either be without our college age son or with significant others. It was a little sad.
Hi D,
We love the early ADR at Crystal Palace. One thing that saves a bit of time is to ask your server for your check as soon as he brings your drinks. That way you don't have to deal with it at the end of your meal. I was hesitant to do this, because I didn't want to appear to be rude. The server brought it right out so we didn't have to wait for it when we were finished. It worked out perfectly and the server couldn't have been nicer!
Your last day at MK sounds great.
You will be at Disney while I'm on my road trip. And when I come back I'm crossing my fingers that you have started a trip report or that a trip report is just around the corner since I won't be back until the second week in September.
I love all your plans! I want to come with you! DH mentioned yesterday that we should just go ahead and get our APs now, which might allow me to swing down for a DisMeet while you are there....I have to think this through as I'm not sure about giving up free dining in November. On the other hand, I'd be able to use my AP for my girls trip in October. Sounds like I'll be number crunching this afternoon.
I refuse to believe that this will be your last Disney trip for some time. I am holding out hope that you will be able to get back before you think you will.
I can not wait to see the outfits and bags that you have been hard at work on. I need to go home and admire the bag that's in my possession! It is going to be so hard to give it to my mom!
Work and eye appointment for me today. And then, I think I'm going to take a stab at my very first homemad mac and cheese for dinner.
Love your plans so far. Everything looks good. I'm still worried about being able to make FP+ reservations with only a 30-day window for our trip. I figure if I can snag at least one FP+ for 7DMT for all of us I'll be happy. Anything above and beyond that is a bonus. We plan to do MNSSHP the night before our last day there, so I figure that might be our best chance to do that ride without FP+ and hopefully with lower crowds. Let's hope!
Great plans D~. Although it ended on a sad note. Maybe next year, you can take the long road trip and visit the National Parks on your way to CA and squeeze in a DLR vacation. Although, I would love to see more of the country. WDW is just less scary for me, if that makes sense. I get on a plane and don't have to worry if the car might break down. I don't have to worry about if a certain motel/hotel on the way is "safe". I will see more of the country some day.
Have a great day today.
Two bags for the price of one!! Kind of.
I picked up a remnant for the one bag I really want to make, but there's like a ton of it (almost a full yard and I need 2 9"x6" pieces for the bag) I'm tempted to make another something or other.
I seriously need to do some t-shirt recons. I have them laying around and I want to make them useful for the trip...just have to find some time/energy.
Have a great day and we all await in breathless anticipation for the outfit and bag reveals.
All your plans sound wonderful. I am sure you will all have a wonderful time.
You are making great headway on getting all your things done. I'm sure you'll get it all completed before you go!
When I was reading about your last day, I got tears in my eyes because I felt the same way when my kids were almost grown up. But as you know, my whole family (including a new DIL to boot) all went to WDW and then on a cruise last November and we had the BEST time! It was different from when they were children, but I couldn't have asked for a better time. I hope you are able to make it back much sooner than you are expecting and I hope it will be just as wonderful.
I can't wait until Wednesday to see your outfits!
Someone has probably already answered you, but I didn't read through all the comments, so the West Wing is the room in BoG with the rose, that's where we ate too, loved it!
And OMG *Tear* you're choking me up with you last minutes in MK!! This will be a special trip, for sure, but it won't be the last!!
Plans look awesome! Yay for A&E FP's!
Can't wait for OUTFITS!!
