~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

We are planning 2 waterpark days. On the day that we are going to MNSSHP that evening, we are going to Blizzard Beach, just so we don't have to deal with the transportation mess. The other day, where we have nowhere to really need to be after...we will do Typhoon Lagoon. Hopefully, it works out.

Wow, sounds like a very productive day yesterday.

WOW! You've really been getting some work done! That's awesome that you've gotten so much completed.

Sorry to hear that Josh's back isn't doing as well as you had hoped. I do hope it starts feeling better right away!

Clio – such happy news about your store manager’s son. Thanks for letting us know.

Can I just say wow I can't believe how much I've missed reading everything going on. I just don't have the time to go back and read. We've been pretty busy since the kids got out of school. Had a great time in Disneyland (hoping to start a trip report in the next week or so), enjoyed spending 4th of July in Oregon at my parent's and now I'm so happy to just be able to be home and relax. Well relax as well as I can with 4 kids!!! Can't believe Baby Jeffrey is going to be 6 months old on Friday!!!! Hope your trip planning is going well and that everything else is also going good.

You absolutely should keep treating yourself to nail appointments!

Good morning D!
Don't forget that since the construction in DTD and the closure of the west side bus stop, after 2pm all bus transportation from the water parks includes a transfer at Epcot. I haven't read any reports about this yet, I am nervous about this for our water park days. I hope it runs smoothly.
How did your meeting go with Robyn? I hope you guys came to an understanding that's good for everyone. I was just informed by one of our family members that her DH will probably not tour with us most mornings. That would have been nice to know months ago when we all decided on a couple pre rope drop ADR's. Anyway, at this point I'm not making any changes if he doesn't come he can find a place to eat.
Have a great day friend!

Ack!!! Thanks for the heads up Tasha... I knew about the DTD construction - but I didn't realize it affected TL too. I've asked about it on the Transporation board, and in our FB group... Hopefully I'll get some more info.

Our meeting went really well... We are all more than EXCITED to go!!!! We talked about a lot of things that could go wrong and how we were going to handle it... It was a great meeting and I think all of us are more relieved.

Yah - I would be so irritated in that situation... At this point - I am right there with you... To each their own, you've done your part... There are pleanty of food opportunities if he doesn't make it to the planned ADR. ::yes::

Have a good day at Target. I hope Josh back starts to feel better and the procedure worked.
My store manager's son got to come home on Sunday. It's amazing 8 days before he was being revived after almost drowning. She won't be back at work until sometime in October. Prayers really work.
Your nails look really cute. I thought Frozen, too when I saw them.
Liz

Thanks Liz... He seems to be doing a bit better. I hope it continues.

I am very glad to hear this - what a miracle!!! Please keep me updated on his progress.

Thanks! LOL I really like them!

I have to say that the construction is horrible and the traffic even worse. I'd give it an hour to an hour and fifteen to allow for the bus to come and get you and then get through the mess.

Gasp!!!! I am so nervous!!! I wonder if it would just be better to take a cab? But with 5 of us, I think we would need 2 cabs? TL and FQ are fairly close to eachother - it might be easier and quicker just to take a cab, to insure that we make it to our ADR on time. :scratchin

D~ I have the gluten free list...but it is such a Disney "newbie" list. There is nothing on there that you don't already know. They had never been to Disney at all, and were worried about places to eat. Also, they were only on the quick service meal plan, so the list is for CS restaurants. That being said, I am happy to email it to you if you want me to.

A Disney meeting tonight for last minute planining!!! Something great to break up the week on this Hump Day! All of our movie nights with Quackattack and her family end up being trip planning meetings as well, love it!

Yes, construction and traffic around the DTD area were a nightmare when we were down there in October, too. Allow LOTS of time for transportation!

Understood... I am really not too worried about it. I know I will have options where ever I go - since gluten allergies are getting more and more common these days.

Our meeting went good - we are all so excited! This meeting was more about working out any potential issues we may have as a group, so it was really good to sit down with all of us, express our concerns and come up with a plan to try to avoid conflict. I feel like we have a good plan in place, and hopefully everything goes well.

Super nervous about this DTD construction now... Not only for our TL day, but we are planning to do DTD on our last day, before ME picks us up... I am trying to pinpoint how long I should allow for transportation. :scratchin

That is a great idea! ::yes:: Sadly, since this is a such a short trip - we have somewhere to be all the time. I am leaning towards taking a cab from TL to FQ when we are done at the water park... And I know I could take the boat from DTD to FQ on our last day before ME - however - I think ME will be picking us up around 4... And what happens every day at 4? LOL I have a feeling boats will be closed... I think I need a back up plan for that day too. ::yes::

WOW! You've really been getting some work done! That's awesome that you've gotten so much completed.

Sorry to hear that Josh's back isn't doing as well as you had hoped. I do hope it starts feeling better right away!

Clio – such happy news about your store manager’s son. Thanks for letting us know.

Yes, I've been so busy... Really coming into the home stretch now... I have so much to get done and not nearly enough time!

He is feeling better this morning - so we are very hopeful.

Sandra!!! Hi!!!! Looking forward to your TR from DL... I loved seeing all of your pictures on FB. And I cannot believe baby Jeffrey is already 6 months old - he is so adorable! Thanks for checking in, and I am glad to hear you are well.

**********************************************************

I don't even want to tell you all about my Target day yesterday. Let's just say that it didn't go as planned. :faint:

I did get to work in my sewing room for a little while before our meeting though - so that was good. I was able to get a little bit done.

Our Disney meeting went well. It was more of a meeting to try and avoid any conflict that may arise while we are down there. So we all talked about some of our concerns and how we intend to deal with them... I think we have a good plan and we all know what's going to happen. So, that's good. Hopefully we have a great trip with out any incidents.

We also got our Memory Maker stuff figured out. I sure hope we have it right... I am a bit nervous about it. BFF purchased MM, and while we were trying to figure it out last night, she accidentally transferred the ownership to me (which is fine)... So then I made sure that I had sharing rights between the two of us, which we do. And since I now "own" it, the girls (who are under me) in ME should just automatically be able to use the MM by default right? This is so confusing!

Now we are all more excited than ever! It's getting so close!

But as you all know... It's also getting a little sad... Since this will be our last girls trip - the end of an era, my babies are growing up. There is a possibility that I will take the girls individually during the spring break of their graduation year... So, that will be 2016 and 2017... :faint: It's gonna be a long, hard and sad wait.

But on to more fun stuff...

I put together one of my outfits yesterday - I am super excited about it! I cannot wait to wear all of my stuff this trip. Someone mentioned yesterday about looking rediculous in Disney... They didn't say it directly to me, but I wondered if the comment wasn't aimed at me... So, I am hoping I don't look too "rediculous". :scratchin Hey - Disney is all about going and having fun, and that's exactly what I intend to do. ::yes:: Embracing my inner child. ::yes::

Today... Well, I won't get into my sewing room until later... I am taking my car in this morning for a brake inspection. Let's pray it's not too expensive, and hopefully he can do them today too - then I don't have to go back.

Depending on my brakes, I may not get into my sewing room until this afternoon. But I will just work into the evening to make up for it. I need to finish these two bag appliques today - which probably won't happen, but I am going to try.

My dad also leaves for Oregon/WA sometime today... If you don't mind keeping him in your prayers - I would really appreciate it. I am really nervous about this trip for him, I just hope everything goes well. I know he will have a good time - he has been looking so forward to it!

I will be updating my Day 3 FP situation in a few minutes...

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :grouphug:

This is our DHS day...

Now, before I get too far into it - I know there is a Frozen thing going on at DHS this summer... We are not huge Frozen fans, so I did not work any Frozen activites into our plans... That being said - if we happen to participate in some of them while we are there, that is fine. It's just not a priority to us. Essentially - it is my game plan to "avoid" the Frozen stuff and use those crowds there to our advantage to conquer the rest of the park. :thumbsup2

So... Our plan...

We will be there at RD in the morning... 9am.

Our first FP is for ToT for 9:30-10:30.

We will hope to ride RnR before this and just stay in this area as long as possible before it gets busy. Since I think this is most people's touring plan for this park, I have a feeling it will get busy quite quickly.

Our next FP window is for Star Tours between 10:50 and 11:50... So we will head that direction.

We have a little bit of time before our next window, so we will just explore the park.. Maybe take in a show or have some lunch. :confused3

They have Napoleons at Starring Rolls, and we LOVE having lunch there - so I am pretty sure that's where we will eat. I need to look at their menu though, because I usually have a sandwich there with chips... I need to see if there is a better option there for me.

Our next FP window is between 1:50-2:50 for TSM... So we will spend a bit of time at the back of the park here...

We will also have to get in a few of our animation classes - hopefully one before TSM and one after? It's our favorite thing to do here!

We have a dinner reservation at 50's PT... Where we must have our obligitory PB&J shakes... Yes, I AM having one - all to myself, no less. :thumbsup2

We do plan on closing the park on this day... I think we are going to try for Fantasmic too - since we have only seen it once, and I think BFF wants to see the closing shows? :scratchin

We will be tired, for sure.

Hopefully we will be back to our rooms by mid-night... So we can prep for our early day tomorrow... :faint:

D~

I thought - for the fun of it... I would share ONE of my Donald outfits... This is not an official picture... But I am IN LOVE!!!! I adore everything about it and I am so excited to wear it.

In all honesty - I don't think it's "rediculous"... After all - it's a plain tank top and plain denim shorts... The only thing that's really Disney are my accessories. :thumbsup2

Love the Donald outfit!!!!mits beyond cute. Your Hollywood studios day looks fun. We have 1.5 days there. Dd designed a valnellope and green alien outfit to wear.

Starring rooks seams tough with your eating lifestyle.... Unless you like sushi. I'm trying to eat cleaner. 2 weeks... Only lemon water and regular water. Only cheated with 1 glass of juice at work once. No soda at all. Diet or regular which used to be a 2-3 a day thing. Trying to eat more fresh and less processed. Still going to finish what's in the house..... But making better choices with new purchases.

Can't wait to see more outfits!

There is this short "Jack Sparrow" thing located next to TSMM. If you walk up to the kiosk they will give you a return time. The show is about 8 minutes long and a great way to fill up your day while you wait for fp windows to open.. They run different scenarios , which I accidentally discovered when we went to it twice in March. We enjoyed it.

I love your donald outfit, can't wait to see pictures of you in it.

We had a similar HS plan, but I have 2 9 year girls, so the frozen stuff is changing up our HS plans.

ohhhhhh So Much to say!!!
First off. looking ridiculous stuff... It's the year of SHOW YOUR DISNEY SIDE!!!

and that my friend is exactly what you are doing! :thumbsup2
Just LET IT GO... Let it go... Alright enough frozen songs... Speaking of.. HS on the Frozen day! I think it will be cute and your right keep everyone in the middle by the hat to enjoy Sing alongs.. :crazy2: I am extremely tired of hearing that song,

Glad you were able to sit with BFF to make sure you are all good to go. that is IMPORTANT!

Fp? Still not a fan of doing all this....

So much going on with you as usual! First let me say how adorable the Donald outfit is! Just love it. And I'm with Mo on the ridiculous comment, whoever made it. I don't think anyone could call that outfit (or any of the outfits you've worn in the past) ridiculous. They are fun and spunky and you have the personality to pull them off in such a fun way! So, Bah to anyone who chooses to make fun…

Love your sparkly nails. I love sparkles too. I thought of Donald, even though it's not his actual color. I think you deserve to have your nails done regularly. It's a small thing that makes you happy. Go for it!

CHH is sooo good. Dan loves the salmon there. Since someone mentioned the chicken strips with the gluten free breading, I think I'll be trying those this trip! Yum! And the thing I really like about CHH is that it seems more like a table service place than quick sevice. The food choices as well as the quieter atmosphere. Go upstairs to eat…it is really cool up there!

I like the way your days are shaping up. Glad you ironed out a plan with BFF for "unexpected" issues that may come up. Very wise to do that. Also, I'm totally with you on taking a cab from the H2O park. They have taxi's that are vans, so just tell them you have 5 adults and they'll bring what you need. Don't give yourself an ulcer trying to get to your ADR!

I'm so sorry the procedure for Josh didn't work as well as the last one. You mention he is starting to get a bit of relief, and I hope it has continued and soon will be complete.

Sorry your day at Target was not a good one. Hopefully next week will be better.

Have a great day today!

I love that one of the biggest "problems" in my life is getting too far behind on your report. I seriously hate being behind over here, I insist on reading everything to get properly caught up and since you post daily and have you lots of interesting chit chat, it adds up to lots of reading. My life is so hard! ;)

So, some random things I wanted to comment on. You can definitely get one taxi for all of you, although you may have to wait a few minutes for a van. We had 6 adults for our girls weekend and took a taxi from SSR to Beach Club to go to Epcot. It was fabulous! And worth the money, especially split 6 ways :thumbsup2

I always leave 1.5 hours for transportation when we are eating at a monorail resort. Just in case the monorail is down or there is some other hiccup getting from MK to our destination. And, if everything goes smoothly on the first half of the trip, we'll take a boat over to Polynesian, just because it is something different. And the views from the boat are so awesome!

I hate that you only have 1.5 days at MK. Pixie dust that your room will be ready when you arrive - I always feel like that starts a trip off great. We love CHH, although we've been stuck eating downstairs due to Charlotte's stroller. Maybe next trip we can get by without the stroller (during the meal) and eat upstairs. Unless I can get a FP+ for BOG!

You are so smart to have a meeting with BFF to go through your concerns. It will help. There are positives and negatives to traveling with people outside of your immediate family - good to have a plan in place for some of the negatives.

Thanks so much for the prayers for Charlotte! She did great, as you know. We are happy to have this surgery behind us. I told her last night that I'd like to never visit the children's hospital with her again - hopefully we can make that happen.

Hope Josh is feeling some relief in his back now.

Lois made a comment earlier, I think in regards to Charlotte's surgery, about things always being harder on the parents than the children. That is probably the number one thing you don't know before becoming a parent - 99% of everything they will go through will be harder on you than it is on them!

Hope you have a great day!

LOVE the Donald outfit!!!! :goodvibes WHO FRIGGIN CARES if someone thinks you look ridiculous?! That is SOOOOO rude! YOu know me pretty well, D~, and you know I am nice on FB and on the Disboards...but that was just RUDE! We go to Disney to escape reality for just a bit. We go to have fun. We go to be a kid again.... I, for one, think you are going to look absolutely adorable!!!!

Okay, jumping off the soapbox now...

I 110% agree love your Donald outfit! Some people have so sense of whimsy, makes you wonder how they can possibly enjoy Disney?! I dress Disneyish a lot people are just no fun!

Love the Donald outfit. I saw some of the outfits last year, in the park, and none of them looked ridiculous. I thought you all looked very cute.

Yes! Of course it is over the top! I think you need to loose the Donald ears! So, just send them on to me and the rest of your outfit will be perfect!!!! Pttttttfffft! Just kidding! Love the Donald outfit and can't wait to see the rest!

How exciting that you are booking FP. I can't wait until you get back from Disney to tell all about your tirp.

Thank you! I am so excited about these outfits this year... Not only are the fun and they look good.. but I am fun and starting to look good too. popcorn:: LOL

Sadly - after looking at the menus yesterday - I have to agree with you. There is really nothing there that I can eat... And I am not a huge fan of sushi. But I did look around the menus on allears, and I found that Fairfax Fare has lots of meat options... So, I will probably grab my lunch there then go eat with the others at Starring rolls... Maybe I can talk one of them into buying a napoleon for me?

I am very excited to post them all! I took tons of pictures of them yesterday. But I can't post anymore until I finish my last bag - which I still need to start.

There is this short "Jack Sparrow" thing located next to TSMM. If you walk up to the kiosk they will give you a return time. Oooh - excellent idea Sue, I will keep that in mind.

I love your donald outfit, can't wait to see pictures of you in it.

We had a similar HS plan, but I have 2 9 year girls, so the frozen stuff is changing up our HS plans.

Thanks! Me too - I am very excited to wear all of it!

I can see where the Frozen stuff would totally derail any plans.

ohhhhhh So Much to say!!!

Fp? Still not a fan of doing all this....

LOL I know - Like I said, I am not sure that the comment was directed at me at all... And I am kind of convinced now that it was not.

Yah - I am really sick of Frozen too - I have been for a long time.

Yes, I am glad too... It's a relief... and now we are all VERY excited to go!

FP was OK... We'll see how much we like it when we get there. I do like that I don't have to run for TSM and Soarin'.

Thanks Lois... A lot. I am not sure that comment was directed at me? In all likelyhood, it was not... So, I am going with that. But thank you... I am very excited to wear everything! It's going to be so much fun!

Love your sparkly nails. I love sparkles too. I thought of Donald, even though it's not his actual color. I think you deserve to have your nails done regularly. It's a small thing that makes you happy. Go for it!

Thanks! I love them too, it's so much fun to have them looking nice. And I agree... It's such a small thing, but it makes such a difference.

And the thing I really like about CHH is that it seems more like a table service place than quick sevice. The food choices as well as the quieter atmosphere. Go upstairs to eat…it is really cool up there!

I've decided that we are definitely eating here on our arrival day for dinner. And I've added the salmon to my list of approved foods... However, I like that there is the chicken available too - I may just have to have that, it sounds kind of good, and I never have chicken strips anymore. We will try to eat upstairs. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I am very excited about how our plans are comin together. Hopefully we will all get along with out any probems... I think it will help immensely that we will be in separate rooms.

And yes, I think we are certainly taking a cab from TL to FQ... We can still take the bus from FQ to 1900PF... but then we can stay in TL a bit longer if we'd like. Time is $$ in Disney. :teacher:

I'm so sorry the procedure for Josh didn't work as well as the last one. You mention he is starting to get a bit of relief, and I hope it has continued and soon will be complete.

He seems to be doing quite a bit better now... Hopefully it continues.

I seriously hate being behind over here, I insist on reading everything to get properly caught up and since you post daily and have you lots of interesting chit chat, it adds up to lots of reading. We had 6 adults for our girls weekend and took a taxi from SSR to Beach Club to go to Epcot. It was fabulous! And worth the money, especially split 6 ways

This is awesome!!! Thanks for letting me know. I'd rather wait a few minutes for a van vs. wait forever for several busses.

Oooh - excellent idea... Especially knowing my bad luck with the Monorail... I think we will do just that... Take the boat from MK to GF - it's the first stop anyways... Then we will be able to walk around the GF grounds a little bit on our way. :thumbsup2

I agree - it's really hard... But I am sure it will be alright.

Looking forward to CHH! :thumbsup2

You are so smart to have a meeting with BFF to go through your concerns. It will help. There are positives and negatives to traveling with people outside of your immediate family - good to have a plan in place for some of the negatives.

Yes, I am a firm believer in ironing things like this out in advance... Otherwise, personally, I'd have a lot of anxiety over the "what ifs"... So, it's just easier for me to spill my worries and then I know what's going to happen. And I find, a lot of times, getting it out in the open prior really helps and avoids potential conflict later.

Thanks so much for the prayers for Charlotte! She did great, as you know. We are happy to have this surgery behind us. I told her last night that I'd like to never visit the children's hospital with her again - hopefully we can make that happen.

I am so relieved for you that it went well. I agree completely!

Hope Josh is feeling some relief in his back now.

He seems to be doing a bit better. Thank you.

I hope you have a great day as well.

THanks Oopsi... I do want to make sure I say that I am not sure the comment was directed at me... Even now, I am quite certain it was just a random comment - I hope. But I agree, if it was directed at me or anyone else - it was rude. And thank you for defending me and understanding my NEED to dress up in Disney. :flower3:

And... Totally agree - I go to be a kid again too... That's why I keep going back.

I 110% agree love your Donald outfit! Some people have so sense of whimsy, makes you wonder how they can possibly enjoy Disney?! I dress Disneyish a lot people are just no fun!

Sent from my Nexus 7 using DISBoards

Hahaha... Yes, exactly! I just want to make sure I say, I am not sure the comment was directed at me, I am almost certain it was not - or I like to believe it wasn't... But I still intend to wear all of my outfits and have fun doing it. :thumbsup2

Love the Donald outfit. I saw some of the outfits last year, in the park, and none of them looked ridiculous. I thought you all looked very cute.

Awww... Thank you Shannon!!! I had so much fun wearing them and I had tons of compliments... I cannot ever imagine going to Disney and not wearing something fun.

Yes! Of course it is over the top! I think you need to loose the Donald ears! So, just send them on to me and the rest of your outfit will be perfect!!!! Pttttttfffft! Just kidding! Love the Donald outfit and can't wait to see the rest!

Nini

Hahaha... I love you Nini - Thank you! I would be happy to share my ears with you. :thumbsup2 As long as you promise to send them back.

How exciting that you are booking FP. I can't wait until you get back from Disney to tell all about your tirp.

I know - I am very excited to do my TR!

Love the outfit.

Thank you!

OK... So yesterday...

Well, I goofed around on the computer for too long in the morning. I was acutally going through menus at Allears, and adding the info to my mini-planner. I am almost at the point where I need to be done with edits and get it printed. :woohoo: I am just hoping for a nice $.10 sale at Target.

I took my Edge in for the brake inspection... I really like this new mechanic. He rotated my tires as long as he had them off - with out me asking. I thought that was super nice and thoughtful of him. The verdict is... There is nothing wrong with my brakes... He said they are a little bit rusty and that's probably what was causing the noise we heard. He said I have 30% left of them, and it doesn't make sense to take them off now, he said to drive them until they are done. But... When I do have them done - it will be a $500-$600 bill, because I will need new rotors this time + front and back brakes. I am guessing I will need them by winter... but who knows, the way I drive - I might not need them until spring. We'll see. So, it was good news and bad news. At least I have time to save for this specificially, rather than dipping into savings to pay for it - since we just had the truck done.

Then, I came home - I couldn't stand it... I assembled all of the outfits I have ready so far and I took official pictures. I adore all of them and I am so excited to wear them. I have to wait until I finish my last bag to take the last set of pictures though - then I will post all of my outfits.

Along those lines... What a MESS of stuff I need to pack... It's crazy! Thankfully - after I finished taking pictures, I took everything and added it to my Disney pile... So, all of those clothes are out of the rotation now for wearing, except my jean shorts - because I have so few of those, as it is, that fit me.

So, once I was done with my photoshoot... I had to clean my sewing room a bit - it was trashed from me digging everything out.

Then I started my appliqueing... I was able to finish my custom order applique yesterday. Then I started on the applique for Auction bag #10... And I very nearly completed it, I just have about an hour of applique work left to do on that.

Today... I will be working on finishing that applique. Then I will start assembly of my custom order bag. I hope to finish assembly of that today. Then I need to do the wallet for it. I've decided that I will resume work on Auction bag #10 on Monday.

Alli has to work today, so I will be making the trip to town to drop her off. Josh will pick her up on his way home from work.

I have a big family reunion this weekend. I have not decided if I am going or not? :confused3 I would like to go, and I would like to see my family, but I am not sure I feel like doing the drive and sleeping in yet another house... I feel like I've been constantly running for weeks... I will see how I feel in the morning... Maybe we will just go up for the day?

Stay tuned for Day 4 FP update.

Have a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend everyone! Prayers and Pixie Dust to all! :grouphug:
