~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

**********************************************************

Finally... I just wanted to share a few pictures with you all...

Today would have been my Mom's 70th Birthday... It's so strange how time flies... I could NEVER imagine her being that old - it just sounds so old... My Mom died when I was 16... So... 23 years ago... She was only 47 years old! She was very sick her entire life, I won't go into the details, but the things she had to endure were nothing short of hell. Even though I was devistated when she died, we all knew she was finally at peace. Anyways, because it's her birthday today and a milestone birthday, I wanted to share a few of my favorite photos of her from her childhood - most of them were before she got sick.

My Mom and Dad when they were first married (or maybe this was when they were still dating)? Since you all have "gotten to know" my Dad over the last few weeks... I thought it would be fun to share this.

Just popping up to say HI! :wave2: I am still reading your posts...just haven't commented all that much. LOVED seeing the photos of your mom on here and FB. :goodvibes

I actually hopped on the scales this morning...and I may or may not have shed a few pounds since you and I started chatting about workout videos and dieting a few months ago... :cool1:

Thank you for being a wonderful encouragment and inspiration! :flower3:

I hope the weather in your part of the world gets better soon.
Here we haven't had much snowfall so far this year. In January so far we have got only 3,5mm of snow (normally we have 95mm of snow in January). So a new weather record in Tromsø is about to be set. We have to go back all the way to 1931 (with 22mm) to find so little snowfall in January.

I hope you have a great day in the sewing room. I can't wait to see your next bag.

I remember the beautiful pictures you posted last year with the tons of snow you still had when Spring arrived. The weather is just crazy...globally!

Yes the weather is crazy globally. We have a lot of snow on the ground (or should I say ice. The snow that's on the ground now is so hard that you can't do anything fun with it. Like making snowmen, go skiing ect.) even if it didn't come now in January. We had heavy snowfall in December.

Hi, D. Yes, I know you feel my pain...it's just never-ending. It's either snowing or frigid. And we've just been informed our office WILL be open tomorrow. They could have at least told us to wear jeans. :furious:

Hope your car starts and that Josh has safe travels with work.

Ugh! Just got the phone call from our school district that school is closed AGAIN tomorrow!! I hope you have a fun day in your sewing room!! I think it's a good day to get some knitting done!! Stay warm!!

Hey D - trying to catch up on everything on your thread and hide from my boss - I was gone all weekend and didn't have time to get on the computer. I went to help my son pack up for yet another move. You will find out that your kiddos move ALOT when in college. They keep finding different roommates and cheaper places. But, at least it gives me an excuse to visit him.

I loved the photos of your Mom, and you sharing her with us. We always carry around so much of our childhood "baggage" with us; it is our choice what to do with that baggage, make us stronger or let us make excuses. You, my lady, are much stronger and wiser, and its beautiful how your Grandma is helping keep your Mom alive and memories strong. No wonder your are so close to your Dad. That is beautiful how close your girls and Dad are. Its a win/win for both.

Every time I watch the news and see your temps I think "I sure hope D and her family don't have to get out". Ya'll keep safe out there. I am sure your girls' school keeps lots of weather days at the end of the year open for makeup. We keep having a roller coaster of icy/cold and then warm. That's Texas for you.

I wish I could think of a theme for your bags. I just love all of them. The Cheshire cat and Evil Stepsisters have been my favorites. Whatever you come up with will be fabulous.

Stay warm and safe; have a beautiful week. Saying prayers for you and your family and your Dad.

Maybe I missed it...and I am seriously too lazy and tired to go back through and read ...

But what is the angry eyes referring to?

Yes, those glasses were very popular back then. I am so very sorry for your loss Trish... :flower3:

It's funny - I get that a lot... I just keep doing whatever it is that I do... I am glad that I can encourage others.

Thanks! WOW - that is a huge record, what a difference to last year for you! I also remember those pictures you posted... I bet it's kind of nice though. I know we had a very small snow year in 2011/2012 and it was a nice break from "winter".

I hope you had/have a wonderful day too.

D~, this reminded me of you. I thought you might want to share it with your girls.

Awwww crap Lois... I went and read it... Tears streaming down my face... but it was a good read and so perfectly said. I plan to send it to the girls to read. :)

Stay warm today Kathy... and thank you - Josh did have a safe trip to work and home again.

Yup - we were closed today too... The girls have had their last day of finals postponed for 3 days now... Both of them just want to get it over with.

Hahaha about hiding from your boss... :rolleyes1

Oh G.R.E.A.T. - did I mention that I DESPISE/HATE/DETEST moving? LOL I'll move them once - maybe... :scratchin

Thank you... You always say such nice things... My Dad is a pretty special guy and I am so happy that his life has changed so drastically for the better in these last couple months.

LOL Yah - we didn't leave the house at all yesterday. Today, I do though. Sigh. I'd take Texas weather any day. LOL

I wish I could think of a theme for your bags. I just love all of them. The Cheshire cat and Evil Stepsisters have been my favorites. Whatever you come up with will be fabulous.

Thanks! Suzi gave me a GREAT idea this morning, which I may run with! :cheer2:

Stay warm and safe; have a beautiful week. Saying prayers for you and your family and your Dad.

Thanks Carol - the same to you. :grouphug:

Maybe I missed it...and I am seriously too lazy and tired to go back through and read ...

But what is the angry eyes referring to?

Nini

Hahaha... The Angry eyes are referring to me... LOL The official name is "I'm packing extra shoes and your angry eyes, just in case"... Teen girls = more shoes than we care to admit... and Teen girls = lots of angry momma/teen eyes. LOL I thought it worked? :confused3

**********************************************************

I had a great day yesterday...

I worked most of the day in my sewing room, I did finsih last week's custom order. LOVE IT! I will have pictures posted sometime today... Probably very soon.

Then, my new book came... The Primal Blueprint... So, I sat in my recliner for a couple hours yesterday afternoon and dove straight into it. It's a great book... Makes so much sence!

Today, I will be starting this weeks' custom order. After lunch - I have to take Alli into the cities for a dermatologist appointment... Grrr... On one of the coldest days of the year... but I've rescheduled this appt twice now... So I need to buck up and go.

Since Oopsi posted her new Disney jammies in her PTR (you must go look, they are soooo cute) - I thought I would post mine too... Found them at Target last week... They are a Large... I haven't tried them on yet - and I don't think they will fit... That shirt looks REALLY SMALL! But I purchased it mostly for the shirt... I have TONS of cute Disney jammie bottoms, but no shirts... Speaking of Jammie bottoms... A few of those bottoms need to be drastically altered - they are waaaay too big for me now... So that's on the list of "must dos" in the near future... :crazy2: Anyways... Here's my new jammies:

IMG_1456.jpg

OK - best get on with my day... I need to get a lot accomplished on this week's bag, so I can leave this afternoon. :thumbsup2

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Sending prayers out to all in need. I'd love some updates if you have the time... Tess, how is Jim doing? Lois, how is Jennifer doing?

D~

ohhhhhhhhh your talking a lot about this new bag your creating... :rolleyes1

so the book is good?!?! TODAY i will be researching the diet.. i have to after the new set of blood test results...

ANYWAY... i LOVE the new jammies!!! Once i have most of this trip planned it's time for trip SHOPPING!!! favorite part of planning... :thumbsup2

your doing fantastic KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

I love those PJs! I'm not sure which ones I like better, yours or Oopsi's! I see a trip to Target or Walmart in my future.

I had a pretty good weekend. The class I had to go to downtown Atlanta was a total waste of time but at least I got a free Chik-Fil-A lunch out of it. :rotfl: Neither me nor my co-worker who went understood anything they were talking about. It was more of an expert class on the subject and we are both beginners.

I got a lot done on my packing on Sunday! A few weeks ago I bought 6 long sleeve shirts in neutral colors at Kohl's. Between the sale they were having, a coupon I had and a gift card I got for Christmas, I ended up paying $20 for the six shirts. Not a bad deal! On Sunday, I matched up one of my Disney shirts with each of the long sleeve shirts and put them together on the same hanger. I'm going to pack them that way so it's easy to pull them out of the suitcase. I don't know if I will need the long sleeves each day but at least I'll have them!

I can't wait to see the new bag and will be stalking the thread today! popcorn:: :rotfl:

I really LOVE how this bag turned out... I am in love with this applique, and the fabrics... It's just the perfect "Pirate" bag! :thumbsup2

D, glad Josh made it safely. Bundle up when you go out with Ali today. Although I have to admit, it doesn't feel as bad it did a couple of weeks ago (could it be we are just getting used to it?).

Although I am NOT a fan of Stitch at all, I just love that bag. It is very cute.

D.,
Love the new bag... All the great details -- right now to the map. Hope it warms up soon. We've had some really bad days here but your area is really getting hit hard. Good Luck with go out to the Doctor's with your daughter...stay warm.
Sheila

Well I didn't get to stalk your thread today like I wanted to. It started snowing about 9 am here and at 11:45 am they sent us home from work. 2 1/2 hours later I finally made it home. I had to park my car at the entrance to my subdivision because I couldn't get up the hill. I thought I was going to have to walk the mile uphill to get home but luckily a Good Samaritan was ferrying people home. Jim is still out there and has no idea how he is going to get home, the roads are horrible and there are accidents everywhere.

That being said, I love the Stitch bag!! So cute and perfect colors for a Pirate bag.

Oooh, your jammies are cute too! You and oopsi are making me jealous! I had to put my Mickey PJs away until warmer weather. Those capris are just too chilly right now.

Love the new bag...Stitch is fun as a pirate :)
