Awww, love the pics! How old is Sarah? Hope your first night home was not a typical first night with a new baby...meaning I hope you got some sleep!
Good morning D!
I hear ya on the TS meals. I didn't realize you were eating in the MK area on those days. That would be a bit of a PITA. It is doable though with realistic expectations. We almost always eat at a DTD restaurant on our WP days so of course we just hop on the boat and head downtown.
I know you will make the right decision for you guys and you will be in our happy place so of course you will have an awesome time!
Have a great day friend!
D~, as far as what to do with your trip. Disney isn't going anywhere, so getting back to see your family is most important. You and the girls will probably be back again next year, so that's a comfort. Dan and I have never had an official "down" day in all the years we've been going and we've done fine. Of course, with just the two of us, if we feel like getting there at rope drop, leaving after lunch to lounge by the pool, then go back to close the park, that's what we do. I am glad Nini suggested the GP free dining watch. Brilliant!
I hope today went well for you and Josh clearing out the garage. Can't wait to see the latest bag. Catch you later!
D~ hope all went well with you today.
You could eat dinner at your resort - Boatwright's is a great place to eat!
Fist Sandra little Jeffrey is just super adorable.
D are you going to have any downtime from BFF and Olivia or are you glued to the hip for the entire trip. Maybe you can take one meal and let them go on their own and you and the girls on your own.
I am going to make the suggestions of some private time for you all. Traveling with others can be rough.
I am so happy to hear your dad is doing well. It is upsetting about his church though and doesn't sound right.
Hope you spend some quality time with the family. I have 2 episodes of Downton to watch.
Sandra, congrats on baby Jeffrey. He is so cute.
I'm glad your visit with your dad was good. Sorry about his church. That just doesn't sound right. I'm sure he'll enjoy the visits with you and the girls.
I have to go to work today. I've been off sick since Thursday. I'm sure I'll have plenty to do. My stomach's still not 100% but I have to go in.
My daughter just came home from work early complaining about her stomach.
I didn't go to the baby shower yesterday. It was 2 1/2 hours away. My daughter and niece went and it took forever to get back home.
I hope everyone have a good day.
Liz
I think that's a great idea about your dad and the visiting schedule. I wish I lived closer to my parents!
I'm sorry about your dad's church. That really is a bunch of BS! You would think they would show a little more concern about a long time member.
Trip related news: I am not moving resorts and I am really happy about it!
Ack....I missed Downton last night! I don't think I even DVRed it I hope they replay it before next week.
So happy your Dad is doing well...I had tears in my eyes reading that last update. It really does suck about his church and I would let them know how you feel when you take him. It is just not right.
I missed all the back and forth about the extra days....but I think you will be fine. You have two WP days and although they are not official "down days" they are a lot more relaxing than park days! So I think you will be fine. I just really hope you don't push too hard. I know you want BFF and O to have a great time, but sitting in the hospital will NOT be fun for them! Take it easy, don't try to do everything in half the time you usually have.
Sorry....not trying to be a downer, just worried about you and the girls. I remember how hot and sick you were a couple times last August
Happy you had such a nice time with your dad. I'm so glad your prayers were answered and his health is in order now as compared to last month.
I get your anger with the church. My Nana and Grampy were loyal parisheners of their church for many, many years and big $$$$$$. It didn't amount to much in the end when they were very sick. In fact we pretty much had to beg the priest to come do last rights for my Nana. So sad.

Hey D! Finally checking in after a nasty stomach bug all weekend. I haven't had one of those in a long, long time. I was the only one out of the 3 of us to get it, go figure. Please do not stress about your vacation. You will get this all sorted out, and remember, you are planning a VACATION, a time to rest and enjoy each other and make new memories. I would try to go for Option #1, but if you can't, and your original plan stays, just be sure and not wear yourself out where you and your girls aren't enjoying yourselves. Yes, you want your BFF and O to have a great time, but they will, its Disney! So glad to hear your daughters are doing their job and wearing Josh to a big permanent YES!
And yay for your Dad doing so wonderful, I am glad he got my card!!! I know you and Alli and V will have some wonderful weekends with him. I wish churches would remember what they are there for, to serve and help others as Jesus would. This type of behavior makes me so mad, I would love to give them a piece of my mind.
I love your TA, she helped me so much with my small weekend; hopefully she will find some more magic for your trip.
Have a beautiful week D, and take care! Many prayers for you and your family and your Dad.
Wow, so much happens when I can't get on the DIS.
Vacation-y: I agree with Mo and be logical about it. You don't want to be there after the family arrives, so cut those options. You don't want to go crazy with the $$$, so cut that one. With the options you have left, talk it over with BFF and you'll have the best time you can!
I feel ya with your Dad's church. Mom would have been in a similar position with her old church: they got used to her being there, counted on her volunteering, but when she was in the hospital - nada. Luckily she moved and has a church with a much bigger (too big in some cases) heart and for her knee surgery there was a bunch of support. If the Pastor knew and did not use the process (prayers for the people, for example) to let everyone know, he's not being much of a pastor. (Have I mentioned that my Dad was a PCUSA minister?)
Anyway - everyone be safe, have fun and blessings on all y'all.
There's a huge retirement/assisted living community near my house that has buses to provide transportation to those seniors that are without cars. They take them to the grocery store, drug store, doctors offices and church. Is there anything like that at your dad's new place?
It's a shame his church didn't show the proper care and concern when he was in the hospital! Maybe he'll make some new friends that can refer him to a church closer to his new apartment that would look out for him!
