Ohhhh man! That would gave been an awesome idea for V! matched her dumbo dress perfectly! It's gorgeous, my fave bag in a while (not that they aren't all spectacular)

I'm back! Sort of. I've been trying to catch up on your ptr for weeks. I finally did but I'm sure it won't be for long. I just feel like I am always constantly busy. No house of my own, no kids of my own, just work and work and more work. Always something going on. I haven't sewn anything in eons. We'll aside from 5 Mickey head shirts I made someone. I have 3 more to do this weekend. Nothing new on the trip front for me :(

So glad your dad is settling in better.

I agree about the flowers! Such a waste (for me). We are going out for tapas/sangria with good friends tomorrow night. Cannot wait. And yes, we had two snow days in a row here- Monday and Tuesday we are closed for President's weekend. So much for scaling down the week long vacation to do days- thanks to Mother Nature we ended up with 4 almost an entire week anyway! I just love your bags!

Tomorrow is ADR day for me!

Good Morning friend!

The Brave bag is georgous! Mo is really lucky!!!

Hi Tasha!!! It's great to see you! I hope you are well!

How are things now that Josh knows about the trip? Hopefully him knowing will make planning easier. He probably already had an idea before he found the TR

Well, there really hasn't been any mention of it... I've been trying to play it low for a little bit. We have a lot going on in other parts of our lives, and we need to get that all mellowed out first. ::yes::

Have a great day!

I hope you have a wonderful day as well!

Hello My Friend!
Yes when sick i am very crabby.. VERY...

Well, maybe it's a good thing you weren't posting much? I love ya Mo and I hope you are doing better now.

Sounds like a great day! love shopping and hanging out with friends for the day. Much needed.

Yes, it was a great time! I love doing it!

Like you i am NOT a valentines day person. feel the exact same about flowers! Total waste of $$.. but i will take chocolate. anytime anywhere.

Yup... I can also take/leave chocolate... DH knows better at the moment... He took me out to dinner instead... Story below... It's a good one. ::yes::

hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you i am very lucky to have such a wonderful bag!!!

Thanks - I hope you have a wonderful weekend too... You will be getting some rest, right?

Yesterday one of the woman at work was telling the single guys how lucky they were to be single on Valentine's day and not have to do anything - I was thinking to myself "Or, they could be married, and not have to do anything." My husband is awesome and would come up with a great surprise for me if I allowed him the funds to do it, but I am not a big fan of Valentine's Day either. Honestly, we rarely exchange gifts for any occasions these days, we'll always put the money aside for an upcoming trip or bill or something practical.

I'm not going to lie - I miss the no occasion flowers I used to get surprised with. I'm good with the $3-$10 ones from the grocery store, any more than that is a waste of money. It's been a while since I've been treated to those, I think I may treat myself. Flowers make me happy!

DH used to do gifts on Valentine's, but one year, I told him that I would much rather just go out for a nice dinner and spend some time together. So, that's what we do now.

I agree - I would much rather have no occasion flowers (cheap ones) than flowers on Valentine's Day... They would mean so much more.

Charlotte was a little difficult getting ready this morning - I'm not sure if it is ear infection related or just because she is 2. She was also clingy at drop off at day care, which isn't like her at all but I'll be with her for her Valentine's day party at 3 this afternoon so at least we both get a short day!

Awww... I Hope the both of you had a better day and Charlotte is feeling better. Oh, and I LOVE her name, so very classic!

Sounds like a great day with your neighbor.

All the shops is trying really hard to get people in Norway celebrate Valentine so they can earn more money. So many people don't celebrate Valentine because of that and because we don't have a long tradition in celebrating this day. Most people thinks it's better to give attention to their love ones any other day when no one expects it.

I hope you have a great weekend

I couldn't agree with you more Lillian, to me, Valentine's day is much more of a gimmick for retail establishments... I would much rather celebrate a different day. :thumbsup2

Hope you have a good shopping day. Just wanted to say - I feel the same way about Valentine's day and especially Flowers. Such a waste of money since in a few days they are wilting and then go in the trash. Now candy, I feel differently about but I can just buy that myself.

Thanks Liz! I am so surprised that most of you feel the same way I do, I thought I was a loner in my line of thinking.

We are surviving! LOL I'm so sick of snow and winter its not even funny anymore. My aches have aches....

Luckily the neighbor across the street came over with the snowblower yesterday and again today to help with clearing out the driveway. We got about 15 inches yesterday and about 8 more last night. I posted some pictures on FB.

Work was closed yesterday, but since my street has not been plowed yet, I took today off work too. I know the interstate is clear, but apparently the side roads are not in great shape.

Oh wow Tess! I wish I could help you some how. I hope the snow lets up soon and you can get some much needed rest from it!

Charlie usually has flowers delivered to me at work for Valentine's Day, our anniversary and my birthday. Makes all the other ladies at work jealous! We don't usually exchange gifts, but this year I got him a box of chocolate covered strawberries - one of his favorites. I got one for Shannon too!

We will probably go out to dinner tonight, but we usually go out on Friday evening anyway, not because its V Day.

That is so sweet! :lovestruc

I just keep reminding myself that this time next month we will be in our happy place!

Yes! Just think warm thoughts to get you through!

Cale and I always give cards to each other and we get chocolate from his mom, but nothing major. I've never been a big flower person anyway. We'll probably just go out to dinner and call it a day.

But we always try to express our appreciation for each other on a more regular basis, so a special day for love seems a bit silly.

Exactly - I couldn't have said it better myself! I purchased a card for Josh while I was out n' aboot yesterday... I forgot to give it to him last night... So, I asked him if I could give him the card with out signing it, and then return it. LOL  Yup - true tightwad! ::yes::

Ohhhh man! That would gave been an awesome idea for V! matched her dumbo dress perfectly! It's gorgeous, my fave bag in a while (not that they aren't all spectacular)

Thank you Erin! Oooh - yes, I forgot that V had a Dumbo dress... I should go see your page and see how much they would match. :lovestruc

I know you've been busy! I just have to say that I love your necklaces - they are so cute! And I LOVE< LOVE< LOVE your new logo!!! That is awesome! :lovestruc

**********************************************************

Yesterday was crazy fun!

Started off with my neighbor calling me, telling me she would have to come all the way back to my house to pick me up... Nah - we were going to meet in town, so I can just drive all day - rather than her. No biggie. Then she told me WHY she would have to come back... She said "look out your window..." Um... OK... :confused3 So, I look out my window at her house... There was her car, stuck in a massive snow bank outside her house... She said she was talking to her dd, and drove straight into it. :rotfl2: She tried to push it out, but it was STUCK. LOL So, she had to pile all the kids out of the car and into the suburban... Since I was driving instead... She left her car in the snow bank all day. :rolleyes1 I really wanted to take a photo and post it on FB, but I didn't. LOL I was nice...

So, I met her at Target, I drove after that.

My neighbor confided in me that they are expecting a baby in August. :woohoo: It was then that I yelled at her for trying to push her car out of a snow bank.

So, we got to shop for maternity stuff and baby clothes yesterday - so FUN! :lovestruc

I am very excited for them... They are our closest "couple" friends, and they are just great people.

She took me out for lunch for driving... I ordered a steak (I told her I was going to, and offered to pay for my own... but she insisted)... It was a good steak!

Then, I went to pick up the girls and bring them to BFF's house...

We hung out there for a while. Then BFF and I went to the natural foods store... Afterwards, V and I went home and Alli stayed with BFF.

When we got home, I told Josh that we were not going to the local bar/restaurant down the road that we always go to... We need to go somewhere else. It was so busy down there when I was driving into town, it was creating traffic jams in our town of 100 people. :faint:

So, we decided to go to Outback Steakhouse... Another steak for D~ - yes please! It's about 25 miles from our house... We get there, and I run in to snag a spot for a table... 1:45 wait... Uhhhh... No thanks. So I crawled into the truck and we were off to find somewhere else to eat. We drove, and drove, and drove... Through all the suburbs and finally into downtown St. Paul... We've been driving for 45 minutes at this point... Finally, I told Josh... Let's just call Trophy (the restaurant down the street from our house) and get a table there... So, that's what we did. Drove all around the metro looking for food, then we end up eating at the local restaurant. ::yes:: It was great food and I got myself a steak again. It was wonderful.

By the time we got home, it was bed time. :thumbsup2

Today, I will be in my sewing room for a little while, finishing up my order from the week. I only have a little bit left to do. Then I will be relaxing for the rest of the weekend.

Update from my Dad: He called me yesterday, so very excited... He received 3 packages in the mail!!! I cannot express in words how happy he was or how happy I was... For all of you that have been so thoughtful to send him cards/letters/care packages... Just really, really :lovestruc  He wanted me to pass along his sincere thanks to all of you... Tess sent him a very nice lap quilt - which he just loves! Niki sent him a beautiful afghan that she knitted/crocheted herself (sorry, I am really bad at knowing the difference between the two)... And Carol sent him two coffee mugs and a bottle of Agave nectar. He was on cloud 9... You all have NO IDEA how much you cheered him up yesterday... He was so very excited! THANK YOU - from the very bottom of my heart... My Dis friends have done more for my dad than his own family has - and I couldn't be more thankful for you all! :lovestruc When I go up in a couple of weeks, I will be sure to take pictures for all of you!

I hope you all have a wonderful day... I hope you all had a very :lovestruc Valentine's Day... My prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you today!

I was in a nice bathroom yesterday afternoon... ::yes:: :scratchin

Wow! It is amazing how wonderful the Disers have been for your dad. Very inspiring!
Sometimes, our best times are driving around in the car together. It forces us to be together and not have to chase the kids (if they are with us)! We get a lot of talking in during car rides! :drive:

And snowbank :rotfl2: I could see myself doing that, for sure.

Hi D,

I'm so glad your dad liked the afghan. It was a lot of fun to knit. You look great!! Keep up all your hard work!! Have a nice weekend.

Your latest bags are the best!! Your weight loss is really noticeable now!! I might look into this Primal diet, sounds like something I could do!

Just a quick drive by...

Pretty soon you are going to be changing your profile picture to one from a public restroom...

LOL...

I am so happy your Dad liked the lap quilt. I always have one handy for when I'm sitting in the chair watching tv - or whatever.

Guess what! We're getting snow today! Yep, another 5-6 inches.....

Glad you had a great time with Josh last night. We went to our local diner for dinner. They had a special menu for valentines day - along with their regular menu. Charlie got the prime rib - which is always good and I got a seafood dish that was amazing good! Dinner included dessert, but we brought ours home and I shared mine with Shannon - who went to her dad's for dinner.

Going to the sewing room and not think about shoveling later....

Your progress has been amazing! After my weight yo-yoing a lot around the holidays and my younger brother's wedding last month I'm finally back to making some progress (and better food choices). I'm now around 25 lbs lost since November first, which puts me around the same weight I was at the beginning of my pregnancy with my oldest son (he's 3 1/2 now). It's slow going, and I don't know if I have seen any physical changes yet except with one older pair of jeans that I can now slip over my hips without unbuttoning them.

Too bad you had to drive and look for a place to eat. But it sounds like it was a nice evening in the end :)

How nice of your DIS friends to send things to your dad

I am very happy with how this bag turned out... Doing "human" faces is often times very *tricky*... So, any time I can do a face, and have it actually turn out like a face, I am happy with it. :teacher: And, of course - I just love this interior fabric. :)

Oops...Josh found out. I hope he settles into the idea okay for you girls.

Congrats to your neighbor...how exciting. But definitely should not be trying to push a car.

How nice that your dad is receiving cards and gifts.

I LOVE your Belle bag...the whole bag is fabulous, but I love that inside.

But my favorite bag lately is definitely "my" Dumbo bag. When I opened the package last night, my hands were shaking because I was so excited. And Mark loved it as much as me. I'll have to think of a reason that he needs to "hold it" for me for a few seconds while we are at the park. THANK YOU my dear friend.:hug:

Glad to hear that the longer shift is actually better for your feet than the shorter shift. Maybe it is worth it having to go in earlier for it if your not in pain for days afterwards.

We didn't do anything for Valentine's day but we are going to dinner tomorrow night for Jeremy's birthday and Valentine's Day. Glad you got in somewhere with little wait after driving around so much.

LOVE the Belle bag!! I may have to try to get another one and actually get it for Sarah since Belle is her favorite!! But then again I think I'll wait a few more years when she'll appreciate it more.

What a beautiful Belle bag! Chip is adorable and the perfect companion accent. :lovestruc

You are looking so AWESOME!! How inspiring that you have accomplished such great success.

Ha ha! Your adventures to try and get dinner sounds like something we've done a time or two. Coming full circle back to town. ;)

What a great group of Dis friends to be so kind to your dad. Such lovely gestures to bless your dad.

I wish I could say the same here... We do a lot of talking too, but I am not sure how fun it is? LOL

And snowbank I could see myself doing that, for sure.

Yah - it was pretty funny!

Hi D,

I'm so glad your dad liked the afghan. It was a lot of fun to knit. You look great!! Keep up all your hard work!! Have a nice weekend.

Thank you and THANK YOU!!! I cannot wait to see it!

:scratchin LOL - well, I just may have to? Great idea!

I am so happy your Dad liked the lap quilt. I always have one handy for when I'm sitting in the chair watching tv - or whatever.

What a wonderful idea, just so have gifts "handy"... If I have the time some day, I will try to work ahead like that. Again - thank you so much - I cannot wait to see it!

Guess what! We're getting snow today! Yep, another 5-6 inches.....

Seriously? Grrr....

Glad you had a great time with Josh last night. We went to our local diner for dinner. They had a special menu for valentines day - along with their regular menu. Sounds like you had a wonderful dinner... Prime rib... Mmmmm... Sounds marvelous!

I hope you were able to get lots done in your sewing room yesterday. :thumbsup2

Yes - it is so nice of them! We are all so lucky to have such great friends here! :grouphug:

Oops...Josh found out. I hope he settles into the idea okay for you girls.

Me too... Sigh.

Congrats to your neighbor...how exciting. But definitely should not be trying to push a car.

I know! I was so mad at her when my mind put 2+2 together!

How nice that your dad is receiving cards and gifts.

Yes! IT's just so thoughtful and sweet of everyone... I know he has more coming, which he will be excited about!

I LOVE your Belle bag...the whole bag is fabulous, but I love that inside.

Thanks Kathy!

But my favorite bag lately is definitely "my" Dumbo bag. When I opened the package last night, my hands were shaking because I was so excited. And Mark loved it as much as me. Awww... I am so relieved and happy you like it! And I am glad that Mark likes it too... I hope it adds some extra pixie dust to your trips! :thumbsup2

You look great!
Have you measured how many inches you lost?

Thanks! Well, kind of... The measurments I take now are in a few different places than when I started... Total, I have lost 7" from my waist, 5" from my abs (you know, that pooch below the belly button), & 1" from my hips... Which doesn't sound right, but looking at pictures - it probably is right... That is where I am having the most difficulty losing... HOpeflly that is the next spot to go. LOL

Glad to hear that the longer shift is actually better for your feet than the shorter shift. Maybe it is worth it having to go in earlier for it if your not in pain for days afterwards.

Exactly my thought!

LOL - I totally understand!

What a beautiful Belle bag! Chip is adorable and the perfect companion accent.

Thank you! I am very happy with it!

You are looking so AWESOME!! How inspiring that you have accomplished such great success.

Thanks Brenda... I am not sure how successful I consider myself right now? I just have so far to go yet, and so many changes I'd like to see.

Ha ha! Your adventures to try and get dinner sounds like something we've done a time or two. Coming full circle back to town.

Hahaha... Glad I am not the only one. ::yes::

What a great group of Dis friends to be so kind to your dad. Such lovely gestures to bless your dad.

As you all saw, I finished last week's custom order yesterday morning.

And then I was lazy all day again... Took a nap in the recliner... Read my tablet... Watched "The Croods" with Josh and V...

Today, I think V and I will be running to town. I didn't get to do much grocery shopping on Friday, so I need to pick up a few things.

Super excited... I ordered myself a new pair of denim capris for this spring/summer. I"ve had my eye on them for a few weeks, but I told myself I had to wait for a good code... They were on sale + I was able to get an extra 20% off... I was happy with that. The best part, is I ordered them in a size 12. :woohoo: I know they will fit me when the come, because I tried on another size 12 in this brand and style... Now, hopefully they won't be too big by the time it's warm enough to wear them, otherwise I will have to exchange. I know - I know - it's weird that I get excited over the smallest things... :crazy2:

I hope all of you have a wonderful day today! Stay warm out there! Sending prayers and Pixie Dust to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

No, I haven't been taking progress pictures. I'm usually the one behind the camera and we don't have any full length mirrors at home.
