How sweet of Victoria to give her Godmother the bag she made.

I'm glad you had a great time at the sale yesterday. It's so great being able to sell stuff you don't need that others may find usefull.
We had a great time at the sale... For the most part, I grew up living with my aunt and her children - so I am very close to them. It seems that I only get to see them on holidays these last few years, which I feel badly for - but we live so far away. So, it was great to catch up.
Holy that is a lot of dolls!!!
so awesome you guys had so much fun!
Yah, it's a lot of dolls - but only 2 of them are staying here. I have a lot of friends in the online AG collecting community - so most of these are going to good homes there.
wow that's quite the haul D~...looks like you are going to be making some happy little girls somewhere with all those dolls!
let me know what my bill is for my stuff when you get a chance!
I will let you know Lisa... But it probably won't be until I finish this next bag set (so the end of the week) - I just have so much on my plate right now.
What is a voucher doll? Can't imagine getting a doll for $35. What fun!
Well, every year, since the beginning of AG (when it was still Pleasant Company - before Mattel purchased it from Pleasant Rowland), any doll, outfit or accessory that was returned to AG, or deemed unsellable, was donated to the Madison Children's Museum. Once a year, they have this massive sale in Middleton, WI - inside one of AG's warehouses - where people can get incredible deals on the dolls. You used to be able to score some amazing retired items, but in recent years AG has stopped donating much to the MCM sale, and all they really get now are the dolls themselves and girls size clothing. I do not know what happens to all the doll clothing or accessores, because they never resell returned items. This year, AG donated an entire warehouse full of 5 particular dolls, because there were so many, MCM decided to just issue "vouchers" for them... So, you go through the warehouse, pick up the vouchers you need for each doll (there was a limit of 10 vouchers total per person), pay for them, then you go to another area of the warehouse, where they have those dolls, and you pick the ones you need. It was pretty nice, because 10 doll boxes are a lot to carry, then you don't have to worry about hauling them through the congested portion of the warehouse sale. IF you think about it, we figured that MCM was letting approx 400 people through each hour x 7 hours = 2800 people (it HAS to be more than that!) and each person has a 10 voucher doll limit... That's 28000 voucher dolls to be had. That's a lot of dolls!
D, - or anyone else who has an UPB do you think a small DSLR would fit in it?
It would fit, but it might be tight. You'd probably be better off with something a little thicker. And it would depend on what else you have in there
I just tried my digital camera with the lens extended and there was plenty of room! I would say if it's a small one it should be fine!
Thanks for answering Stephanie!
Wow! V did a great job on her bag!! So sweet she gave it to her godmother! Whoa!! Lots of dolls.
Thanks!!! I will pass along your message Tink!
I know I don't comment much, but I think Victoria did an unbelievable job on that bag. It looks so professional and well-done; I really like the hidden Tink fabric in the inside. It's hard to believe that was done by a 13 year-old!
Awww... Thanks I will let her know!
I only went back far enough to see the original post with Victoria's bag pictures in it . . . after I post this I'm going to go back and try to read the rest. . .
V!

You did an amazing job! When I was your age I was sewing circle skirts (and I'd make my mom hem them) . . . this bag looks like your mom made it (and I have one of her first and I know how amazing they are!)!!! Fabulous job!
I will totally let her know! Thank you Marianne!
When you say "small DSLR" what do you mean exactly? Are we talking Nikon D40? Or something smaller? I took my Nikon D80 with us on our trip and I could just squeeze it in my UPB with my 18-105mm lens on it . . .
Thanks for commenting - I have no idea.
First off...V did a wonderful job!!!!
Second, the store had a cast meeting tonight. It was the first time that a lot of people got to see my Figment bag (it's usually stuck in my locker)...there were several people that looked at your label to look you up on Etsy...I mentioned that you were already booked through this year...they were impressed!
Can't wait to see your next creation!
Lynn
Lynn - that is really cool! I am so glad to hear that you are using it - that makes me so incredibly happy!!!
Dear Victoria,I am VERY impressed with your sewing skills and the BEAUTIFUL bag you made for your Godmother. She must be THRILLED! What a very tangible way to show her you love her and I KNOW she will think of you each time she sees her bag.
I am an adult and I only WISH I could sew!!! Simply AMAZING!
Thanks Judy! I will pass this along to V - she will ge so thrilled!
[D~! That is quite a haul you got at the AG sale! It sounds like an exhausting, FUN day!!! You seem to have a lot of those and I am happy you get to (well, NOT the exhausting part, but you know what I mean!)
It was fun!
Ummm.... Girl - you have more exhausting days than I do!

[How is Josh's back?
It's slowly loosening up. He is back to work. He is still walking a bit crooked, but he is able to move around more as long as he is careful. Thanks for asking.
Well, I spent the entire day in my sewing room yesterday. The UPB is completely finished, and the wallet is quilted and the appliques are done, I just need to assemble it. But I work today, so it won't happen until later this evening. I still hope to have it posted tonight as long as the light stays good until I am done.
I hope everyone has a maaaarvelous day!
D~
