Sew much to do, sew little time - but it was worth it! New PTR link posted! ~~~~~~~~~

I love the photopass photos, you got some great shots with your girls!!
Love the newest bag too. I can totally understand the demand for your bags. They are so great and each one is so unique!!
:lovestruc
Sorry about Josh's back going out again :(

Love the photopass pictures!! I can see you went on Kali River Rapids ;) I learned after the first two times always carry a cheap dollar tree poncho!! I'm always the one that gets totally drenched  I love it though!!

You would be so proud of my newest project, I bought a Singer Featherweight. It needs a little TLC and I was hoping you could help ... I'm wondering what I should use to clean the badge. It's a centennial model so it has paint on it (I guess it's paint), but I would like to shine it up somehow. Any tips? I've already changed the belt on it and it actually works pretty well! It's an awesome little machine! I got a good deal on it! I'm planning to really clean it up this weekend, and your links will really help, although I'm not planning to take it all apart unless I have to :rolleyes1

This is quick, but had to say I am praying for Josh and all of you! Have a GREAT time this weekend and thanks you anyway!! LOVED your PP bag!!! Simply AWESOME!!! LOVE YOU BUNCHES!!! Can't wait to see you!!!

Wow~that Tinkerbell just kept showing up to spend time with you girls on vacation didn't she? And OMGoodness, I have never seen the magic shot with Stitch coming out of the box~ love it! :stitch2: Yes, the photos with V "snuggling" up to you are so precious. :cloud9: Great memories captured! :wizard:

I have never seen that magic shot either, so it was kind of fun. :)

sorry Josh's back is out again, hope a day of rest will help and he's better soon!

yay on your lettuce harvest, yuck to the bugs !

sweet the girls were getting along last night :goodvibes

okay I think I'm sad, or hopefully you just didn't see my sentence about being in your schedule for next year for my holiday bag ......

yes you did get lots of pixie dust from Tink, she must really like you ladies....speaking of the girls, I meant you, your aunt and cousins to behave :lmao:
love the snuggle shot and the one with the girls kissing your cheeks :goodvibes

Thanks Lisa! :thumbsup2 Josh went to work today - so I assume he was able to walk this morning?

Sorry about Josh's back going out again :(

Thanks Tracy!!!! That means a lot coming from you - since you own one of my bags. :lovestruc

Oooh - I am PROUD of you!!! Well, I have a bottle of Brasso that I used to clean my badges - but I don't have any centennial badges... I would be *very careful* just in case, not to get any brasso on the painted portion (I really dont' think it would be an issue - but you never know), so I'd put the brasso on a Q-tip to clean the badge.

I love the look of Featherweights, they are beautiful machines! I am not sure I could ever sew on one though... V's machine is a 3/4 size machine, and it really irritates me to sew on it because I feel so cramped in there. I've only seen one real live Featherweight in my life, and I just don't think I could do it - however - it would be a great machine for at the lake. :thumbsup2 Please keep me updated (and post pictures)...

Oh, and I was going to tell you... Some of my links on my lik page for restoration - the original pages have been removed. :( Marianne discovered this a few weeks ago while trying to restore her 237... I haven't had the time to go searching for more information, but I do know that on the same message board where the Tutorials #1, #2, & #3 are, they have links to Youtube videos that show you what to do, as well. :thumbsup2 All of my other links should still be working. Let me know if you need help with anything else. :lovestruc

This is quick, but had to say I am praying for Josh and all of you! Have a GREAT time this weekend and thanks you anyway!! LOVED your PP bag!!! Simply AWESOME!!! LOVE YOU BUNCHES!!! Can't wait to see you!!!

Good morning Judy!!! Thanks for stopping by! I am so excited to meet you and your family next month - I am about ready to jump out of my skin! LOL Love ya too m'dear, and I'll be at your TR just as soon as I finish up here.

Josh update: Well, he spent the majority of yesterday in bed. Poor guy! He seemed to be in more pain the night before, and yesterday was more of a rest day. I woke up this morning and he had gone to work. I sure hope he was feeling up to it, and didn't go just because he has a lot of commitments - otherwise that will just make his back worse later. I was thinking about it - and his last back "episode" was the week before we planted the garden - so early May. :headache: I hope this isn't a reoccuring theme.

Sewing update: I spent the entire day in my sewing room yesterday! Phew! I was able to totally finish the front applique - It looks AWESOME...:smokin: However, while I was doing my front applique - I realized that I don't have enough Heat N' Bond to do the back applique - so guess who has to run to town right away this morning? Grrr... :headache: And I thought I was being smart - I had purchased enough supplies to get me through my next 4 bags. However, my interior fabric came yesterday - and I am very happy with it... I need to run and transfer it to the dryer shortly. So... I plan to run to town right away this morning - then I will spend the rest of the day in my sewing room.

Victoria's UPB update: Some of you may remember that Victoria was making a bag for her God Mother for her birthday, which was in May. Well, she hasn't touched it since then. Yesterday, she was spurred on because I will be going to the AG sale with her God Mother tomorrow... So, Victoria is very anxious to get this bag finished, so she can give it to her tomorrow. Anyways, I sat in my sewing room last night, helping her get it assembled. I dont' know if we will get it finished up tonight or not? It's gonna be close - if she can get the strap assembled on her own machine today, I think we will be able to finish tonight! It's a very cute bag though - and I am sure her God Mother will love it!

Charlotte trip ramblings: Some of you may have noticed... D~ is going on her first solo trip, headed to Charlotte, NC next month for a Dismeet of Epic proportions!!! There are several Dis friends that are going to be there, and I just can't wait to go!!! While I am there, we have a couple of Dismeets to go to, and some of the local Disboutiquers are meeting up to do a Fabric Shop Hop!!! I will only be there for 4 days - but we have lots crammed into those 4 days! I am a bit nervous for the flight though - this will be my first time flying alone... Hopefully I don't barf on the person next to me... :rolleyes1 That would make the rest of the flight a little awkward.

Alrighty... I better get on with my day - I have lots to accomplish! I can't believe that Saturday is already tomorrow, and I still have so much to do! :rolleyes1

Have a fantastic day today everyone!!! :lovestruc

Really far behind.....

Love the latest bag, Mary Poppins is fantastic. You never cease to amaze me with your creativity.

I love all the PP pictures!

Sorry to hear about Josh's back, I hope he feels better today and that work doesn't cause him more pain.

Have fun at the AG sale, it sounds like a nuthouse but a great time.

Can't wait to see your latest bag. Also will you post a picture of the bag V did for her godmother?

:3dglasses After looking at your last posts of pictures I hereby declare that you MUST return in March. How does the song go. . . "Making memories, making memories, taking pictures is making memories."

You'll never ever regret time spend making memories with your daughters. ::yes::

:headache: <----he's mad because he can't find his camera

happy to hear Josh is up and about today :goodvibes

Here she is ....

I haven't done anything yet, except change the belt.

I'm thinking about naming her Mo, that's the name of the girl I bought her from. I also like Minnie, because she's a mini machine :goodvibes What do you think?

As you can see in the background, I have two other machines  Yikes, you've created a monster. The one on the left is my old Kenmore. I took it apart to replace a cam gear (so it will zig zag) It just came in the mail today, so wish me luck! I'm really not sure I can get it all back together again!

The other is an old Singer Merritt a friend gave me ::yes::

D I am all caught up on your TR!!!! So sad that the actual trip part is over. Guess that means you need another PTR!!!!!

I had a really long reply typed out and then the IPAD ate it. I don't understand my ipad at all. It just goes to the home screen all on it's own and eats my replies all the time. You'd think i would have learned my lesson not to do long replies on it, but alas I have not.

Anyways First Off....

The lake sounds fabulous!!!
I looked at the pics of your house Renos -OMG amazing what a talented husband you have!

MM is such a cutie!!!! I hope all the potty training is done and over with.
This might help in the future or for anyone else, but the way we always potty trained our dogs is crating them at night and making the crate smaller like you did. First thing in the morning, you get them up, pick them up and carry them outside to the grass, don't let their feet touch the ground. and then let them go and praise. and throughougt the day same thing, just taking them out lots and praising if they have an accident in the house, you just take them to it, say NO very firmly and take them right outside. Excellent for all the dogs we have had. EXCEPT for our current who was actually my brothers dog and my brother is lazy and didn't do it properly so the dog had accidents for months. Not to say that that method works for all dogs, but it worked for 4 dogs we've had. Never do the puppy pads, once you train them to go on a pad it is SO much harder to get them to go outside and then they'll just pick anything that looks like a pad to pee on. Anyways... he is such a cutie, I know it is hard, but i really think having another puppy helps. you're never replacing Ruf but adding to your family.

Disney trip, This should be at the top of the list! What an amazing trip you guys had, so fun. You can tell from the pictures that you all were really truly just happy to be there. Pixie Dust for the AK parade, how awesome was that!!!!! Someone here tried to arrange some AK Parade pixie dust for V and I but unfortunately it didn't work out. We had a great time watching the parade. So Fun! Fantastic photo pass pictures!!!! I am so jealous. I bought the photo pass + and even so there was only a couple photographers who did extra pictures of V knowing that we had already bought it. There were a few who wouldn't even do pics of V meeting characters, only the 2 posed pictures of V and the character. And then again I had some awesome photo pass pics too. I was just overall disapointed with our PP experience. Photographers were hard to find and so many pictures i just looked at are blurry :( Oh well.

Glad that Ali was feeling better, heat stroke can be awful. There was a few times where I definitely had too much sun and not enough water and I just felt awful on our trip. Hydrate! So glad that you did fly home. You're right nothing is better medicine than sleeping in your own bed. last years trip I got sick the day before we flew home (we weren't at Disney thank goodness). We were at my bosses house and thought I had caught a 24 hour bug. I have never felt so sick in my life; high fever, complete body shaking shills that left me feeling like I had pulled muscles. I felt better the next day and we flew home. I had developed a rash on my leg and we figured it was just from the fever. I don't know how high the fever was but it was pretty high, worst headache i had ever felt in my life. I was popping aleve and nothing helped. Finally I took tylenol and that did. Anyways flew home, got in around 5 pm and at 3 AM I was in the ER with a temp of over 102, I think it was around 102.7 or 8 and my leg was so swollen and sore I could hardly walk. Nope not a 24 hour bug. I had Cellulitis which is a blood infection. Doctor wanted to admit me since I was so far gone, but mom managed to convince him against it since She would be home with me the whole time.

Anyways enough of that and on to the bags

I LOVE your Dumbo bag!!!! I remember seeing the sneak peeks before the launch and knowing right away it was dumbo it was just so bright and colorful. So darned cute! and now you have The EPB hmmmmmmmm
I LOVE the Mary poppins UPB. Mary holds a special spot in my heart since it was my favourite movie as a kid, and is one of V's favourites now. And of course since I have been a nanny for 6 years, 4 of those with V. I thought about Mary for mine, assuming I get on your list in Sept, but I'd want a Jolly Holiday one and White is just so NOT practical!!!! Back to the drawing board I go. one other bag that really stuck out for me was the Tigger one. LOVE IT!!!! and I lvoe the addition of the back slip pocket. that is so handy.

alright enough, looking forward to more pictures!!!
I hope you have a blast at the AG sale. V LOVES her AG doll. She named her Elizabeth. My task for the day is to figure out how to fix the dolls hair, it took a beating at Disney!

Just stopping in to say hi! Getting good use out of my Squishy Bag! I've had lots of compliments on it :)

Fabulous report - Love all the pictures. All of your bags blow me away - but that Mary Poppins bag is just ridiculous! You are my sewing idol!! :worship: Your humble beginnings give me hope. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. Congratulations on your new addition - he's adorable. What a sweet family you guys are. Thanks for sharing :)

HI CHERYL!!!!! I am glad to see you! I agree - I hope to make more memories with the girls this spring.

happy to hear Josh is up and about today

Hope Victoria gets her bag finished, can't wait to see it!

have fun tomorrow at the AG sale! thanks for looking around for me too!

have a great day of sewing!

Actually in the 5th photo is Haunted Mansion. :)

V finished her bag last night - I'll be posting pictures shortly. It turned out really cute - she did a GREAT JOB!

I am up way too early for the AG sale... :faint:

She is BEAUTIFUL!!! I love naming her Minnie - you could call her "Mo" for short. :) I have to snicker a little bit... It's actually quite common for people who restore vintage machines to name them after their previous owners... So, believe it or not, I often sit at my machine and wonder what those previous owners would think if they knew that the machine they sewed at for years now had their name. I dunno... :confused3 Maybe I am weird? But, if I am lucky, maybe in 100 years, someone will "adopt" Patience and name her D~? :lovestruc I guess I would just be thrilled that somone was still sewing with her, and I could care less what they named her. :woohoo:

I love all your other machines too!! I can't believe that I get all the blame for those machines. :rolleyes1 It's getting to the point where I need to ask you for advise. :thumbsup2

Speaking of which, I snuck into Goodwill while I was in town yesterday... They had a very nice Necci machine for $20... I almost grabbed it - it was very clean, and very smooth - I would have snapped it up for $10 though. But I just left it there. I've never sewn on a Necci before, I've heard very good things about them though, if I did buy another machine, it would have to take Mr. R's place, and we are just starting to get along again. :rolleyes1 I couldn't do that to him - even if he is a tempermental ol' guy.

D I am all caught up on your TR!!!! So sad that the actual trip part is over. Guess that means you need another PTR!!!!!

Wow!!! I am quite impressed that you've finished! :cool1:

I was snickering about this for a little while last night... I was thinking to myself that if your "really long reply" was eaten by your Ipad... Then what was this? :rotfl2: Was this considered your short reply? Or was this considered your short reply turned long? Sorry, but I considered this reply a very long reply. Thank for the chuckle.

Anyways First Off....

The lake sounds fabulous!!!
I looked at the pics of your house Renos -OMG amazing what a talented husband you have!

Thank you... It was a long hard road, and I am so glad it's over! It was a year of a HUGE mess outside and I was going crazy. LOL

Thank you for the advise - that is very close to what we did. MM is totally potty trained now - so much so - that he borders on annoying. He is very tall, and we taught him to scratch the door when he needs to go out - but now that he is so tall, the actually scratches the door handle, so all we hear all day long is the "boing" of the handle. LOL And if we don't have the air on, and just the screen door - then he jumps up on the screen door and pushes it open, lets it slam shut, pushes it open, lets it slam shut... FOREVER until we let him out. LOL He is a very good dog though... If only we could get him to stop nipping the girls... He likes to nip them at the top of their legs, and they usually give him huge reactions - which he equates to attention - and I think that's why he keeps doing it. Grrrr....

Sorry about your AK day and your PHotopass pictures. Both are such a bummer! Towards the end, if I noticed that the photographers weren't taking pictures - I just asked them to take more. After that incident with Goofy in Epcot and I had to tell the photographer to "could you take more pictures of this please?" LOL They were all really good about it after I asked.

Glad that Ali was feeling better, heat stroke can be awful. There was a few times where I definitely had too much sun and not enough water and I just felt awful on our trip. Hydrate! If you google it, there are ways to fix it... At one point people were "Downy Dunking" them... I did it once for the girls' dolls and it worked wonders - but in the end I often wondered if it did more harm than good? After about 4 years, we just sent the dolls in for a head replacement.

Just stopping in to say hi! Getting good use out of my Squishy Bag! I've had lots of compliments on it :)

Yay!!! Hi Suzi!!! I've been following your trip via your PTR and FB!!! Lovin' it! I hope Dani is lovin'g it too! :lovestruc

WELCOME!!! And thank you! :lovestruc I hope you'll continue to follow along - what little I have left anyways... I hope to start a PTR again soon.

Last night, I helped V finish her bag... I will be posting pictures of that shortly. She did an amazing job with it! So very proud of her!

I am up bright and early to head out to the AG sale - it should promise to be lots of fun! :woohoo: So, no sewing for me... I will probably be pretty tired by the time I get home tonight.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

I am so very proud of Victoria! She did a great job making this bag! Can you believe she is only 13? I did help her quite a bit, pinning and such - but she did all the sewing and quilting herself. She also picked all the fabrics. Not only that, but this was her first applique - she had done a small one last summer/fall - but this was her first "real" applique! I think she did amazing!

Love seeing all the pictures! And can I just say I love seeing a picture of one of your bags in action! :) I'm on your list for a bag this fall, and I am so bad with measurements and visualizing in my head the size of things! Loved seeing a picture of the bag on a person! It's even bigger/better than I imagined! I'm so excited for you to create mine! :yay::yay:

I am so very proud of Victoria! She did a great job making this bag! Can you believe she is only 13? I did help her quite a bit, pinning and such - but she did all the sewing and quilting herself. She also picked all the fabrics. Not only that, but this was her first applique - she had done a small one last summer/fall - but this was her first "real" applique! I think she did amazing!
