~~ Sew hot, Hot, HOT! ~~ A sweltering Aug 2013 TR ~ Pre-Trippie link posted! ~ 10/31!

I'm so not looking forward to the day she becomes a teenager!! I'm already scared. That's why I'm kind of glad our newest addition is a boy!!

Sounds like that's the best you can do. Not much you can do it sounds like.

Glad you got to have dinner with your friends. Hope you had a successful day today!

Ok I'm asking for some good thoughts. I failed my first glucose test and now tomorrow I'm having to go in for the 3 hour glucose test. I'm so afraid I'm going to fail it since I'm already borderline diabetic. I'm so afraid of needles and so not looking forward to what comes with being diabetic if I do fail. My family has a history of late in life diabetes so I do have a higher risk of getting it.

All good thoughts coming your way. Please let us know what happens. Good luck.

I am so happy to hear the stain got out of the UP purse. It's the pits about the pilling though.

So nice to hear you had a good dinner with your neighbors.

Best of luck on your new workout program.

Well going to the meeting sweaty may mean it ends early????

Hahaha... It did end early - so maybe that might have had something to do with it? LOL

I don't have advice for making your coworkers garment larger without knowing what is you are making, but I'd be happy to help in anyway I can. I understand your frustration over this. Its hard to believe that she just had her measurements done. I hope her bridesmaid dress fits.

Thanks Tess - I sent you a PM.

:Can't wait to see your auction item this week, however I will not be bidding on it because I am broke until next payday.

LOL It's turning out really awesome! I am so happy with it... It will be very hard for me to auction it off.

Sounds like you had a lovely Sunday.

I spent 10 hours cleaning (my refrigerator looks brand new).

Have a great day in your sewing room.

Oooh - I need to do that so badly... I was hoping to do it last weekend and I just never did. I also need to clean the outside of my oven... I was scrubbing my kitchen floors the other day, and I noticed that someone spilled milk nearby and it splattered all over the front of my oven... Who knows when that happened, but it will be a bugger to clean... Sigh... Stainless steel is hard enough to clean as it is... Hey... Wanna come clean my appliances??? LOL

Sounds like you had a fun weekend! I spent mine packing. Got most of my stuff laid out and got the dogs completely packed for their stay at the "doggie spa" as we call it. 5 days to go!!

YAY!!!!!!!! 4 days now!!!!!!!!! WAHOO!!!!!!

Glad you had a fun weekend. I was at Target yesterday for a few things and we also went to Kohl's
Today my freezer decided to die. It was older than my daughter. I just threw away everything.
I work a half shift tonight in Wireless. I hope I remember how to do contracts. I've been in photo for so long.
Liz

Oh no!!! Such a bummer about your freezer! I am always worried that will happen to us - especially right after we fill it. I hope you didn't have to throw too much away.

I hope you had a good night at work.

Ahhhhh....so far behind. Okay, let's see if I can get caught up here.

Hi Suzi!!! I haven't done a lot of updates... I am hoping that some of my faithful readers can catch up a little... However - I will be doing another update today.

Crystal Palace...bleh. I tried it this year because I had heard wonderful things from lots of people on here. I was NOT impressed at all. The food was horrid. Cold and mushy was the theme the day we were there. And the character interaction was very sub par. There was hardly anyone in the place and we waited over an hour for the fluffies to come around. Then it was a quick hug, pic and go. Not even close to worth our time again

Breakfast - first thing in the morning - is much better, I would assume. I have never been there for dinner. I am so sorry your experiance was less than stellar.

The Blue Fairy bag.....AMAZING! So simple and elegant. Very lucky person that gets to carry that one!

Thank you!

PUSH....still have not seen him. Next time for sure. Love your story with him. What a fun time.

I hope you get to meet him - Bradey would just love him!

I hope you weren't too stinky at your meeting tonight

Hahaha... I don't think I was?

We tried to find Push but had no luck! A cm we asked only could give us a times guide but just smiled and said she wasn't sure where he came out! So jealous you guys happened upon him!!

Yah - I am not sure the CMs ever know where to find him? We asked last year - and each CM said a differnt location... LOL So, we criss-crossed all over Tomorrowland with no luck... So happy we found him this year!

I'm so not looking forward to the day she becomes a teenager!! I'm already scared. That's why I'm kind of glad our newest addition is a boy!!

It is scary - but also wonderful... It's so amazing to see them turn into adults, yet very, very scary. Did I just totally repeat myself? LOL

Sounds like that's the best you can do. Not much you can do it sounds like.

Glad you got to have dinner with your friends. Hope you had a successful day today!

Thank you! Yah - I am so happy about it too... I think the pilling was more from her lotion than it was from the fabric - had she not had it on, I think the fabric would have been OK.

**********************************************************

Well, I had a great day yesterday...

I worked all day in my sewing room with out a break. I went up there right away at 8am, with the intention of quilting my auction bag. When I got up there - I realized I was almost out of quilt batting... GRRRRR... I should have remembered to pick some up. SHOOT! Then, I remembered that I had quilted a bag for myself to carry on our latest trip - and I had never made the bag... Even though the theme I wanted to do for the auction bag was not the theme I had intended to use for that bag - it worked perfectly with it. :cool1: Cool! So, then I was ahead of myself... Until I picked out the applique and realized it was a pretty difficult one... :scared: I didn't get it all cut out and pieced until almost 1pm... YIKES! So, I took a quick lunch and went straight back upstairs to start stitching it out... Miraculously - I was almost able to finish stitching it yesterday- I have about an hour of stitching left to do this morning. With any luck - I will finish this bag today. I am still debating on doing a wallet with it? As it is, it will be an expensive bag - and I feel like adding a wallet to it will make it even more... We'll see what I have time to do...

I started my new work out program yesterday morning. I was starting to feel some left shoulder pain yesterday afternoon. With this program, you are not supposed to work out, other than what is in the program - unless you do some walking or easier things... So, Zumba isn't considered OK... But I already paid for it - and it's only once/week. So, I went... and I tried really hard not to work my arms too much... But by the time I came home - my left shoulder was really sore. I went to my meeting and when I came home from that, I took some ibuprofen and iced it as I was falling asleep. I woke this morning to BOTH shoulders hurting... :scared: Grrrr... I was planning to do my WATP this morning, I probably still will - but I won't do any of the arm work at all. :scratchin I am sure my muscle soreness is just from working my muscles harder, and not from any sort of injury... but I really want it to heal. So, I plan to be very careful over the next few days.

I don't really have anything else to share with you all today. I hope you all have a great day... I plan to do an update right away this morning. :thumbsup2

When I left you all, Alli and I had just finished our ride on the carousel, and we met V in line for the Fairy Godmother...

As we were standing there - who rolls up??? Erin (NannyE)!!! Yay!!! I was so happy to see her and little V... I still felt horrible that we had to leave the dessert party early that first night, and we had not run into them again since.

We chatted with Erin for quite a while... Little V was so cute in her custom dress Erin had made... Alli asked if she could take little V on a carousel ride while we were waiting for TFGM, and Erin said she could...

IMG_1164.jpg

Even after their ride on the carousel - we had to wait longer to meet TFGM - so we killed time by taking a few pictures and the girls played on the Castle steps...

IMG_1167.jpg

IMG_1168.jpg

And I finally got a GOOD Dismeet picture with Erin!!! YAY!!!

IMG_1165.jpg

After a long wait - we were able to meet TFGM... She was so sweet and one of the best character interactions we had over the course of the trip.

IMG_1173.jpg

I have lots of pictures of Little V - but I will let Erin post those when she does her TR.

After we met TFGM, we went to line up for Merida... This line was SUPER LONG - so we told the girls they could go ride the Tea Cups while we waited in line for them... No sooner did they leave and the line moved - it moved big time! YIKES - all of a sudden we were in the walls... So, Erin went with her scooter to tell the girls to get back in line, and I just stayed in line... A short time later, the girls came back, but Erin did not - they never found eachother. Sigh... Finally, Erin came back to us and we were all reunited - before we met Merida. PHEW!!! I was really nervous, because we had V and had no idea where Erin was. That was too close! We got some great Photopass pics with Merida and all the girls.

For the record, by this time on our last day, both of V's custom Monster's Inc ears fell. :( Jen had seen this in a photo I had posted on FB - and she offered to fix them right away... She said she had tweeked her technique a bit since making these (these were her first ones). Jen is so sweet, it was so nice of her to offer to fix them for us.

All three girls got along so well - they were great friends in a matter of minutes. Little V was just so adorable!! We love her!

When we finished with Merida, we decided it was getting hot (REALLY HOT!) and we'd exit the park...

On our way out... I ran into this guy... I think he is - shoot, I don't remember who he is??? He was very funny, every photo I have of him is me looking at him... :confused3 He kept saying funny things as the CM was snapping the picture.

IMG_1183.jpg

Then, I ran into Shannon again (Or did I run into Shannon first? I don't remember... LOL), so we were able to snap a much better Dismeet photo...

IMG_1185.jpg

But we happened upon another character on the way out... So, we had to stop...

IMG_1187.jpg

IMG_1188.jpg

Erin and V rode the bus with us back to FQ... They exited there and scootered back to POR... We said our good-byes at the bus stop, but not before Big V had Little V autograph the back of her pillow case... To this day - Little V is the only signature there. So sweet! The girls were very fast friends, I do hope our paths cross again some day... We really enjoyed spending a few hours with Erin and Little V.

IMG_1191.jpg

The girls and I returned to our room, we napped until 3pm, we woke and I began packing a little bit. Less than 24 hours left of our trip, but so much left to do!

Bert from Mary Poppins?

That's who I thought it was when I saw the picture. And he was close to Mary Poppins.

Just a thought.

<ETA> Changing my guess. I think it's Main Street Character Andrew Bition.

Just downloaded the Character Locator from Kenny the Pirate, and that's what it looks like.

Hey! I was only a couple of pages behind!!! YAY ME!

like you i am not a tea cup fan. i wish i was because it is one the the memories i have with my Dad in Disney 1978!!! Just can't do it... A- needs to step up here and start posting some pictures/videos the ones she has on Facebook are impressive.

the meets and greets! HOLY COW! you have a plenty! i cannot wait to meet Merida. she. is. awesome.

the CM on main street... well i think your looking at him::lovestruc
Josh.. be afraid be very afraid! :lmao:

I am IN LOVE with little V's dress!!!

sorry about the ears falling off! awesome she is fixing them, but V really wore them with PRIDE! i cannot wait FOR THIS!!!! i will be doing the same while SHOWING MY DISNEY SIDE!

also wanted to throw out how much i love the shirt with the mickey head with Jimney!!! SWEET!!!!

I hope to stay caught up now?!?!

The guy on Main Street was Scoop. The news reporter. I had just ran into you when he came up and grabbed your arm and started walking with you. I thought it was a fun interaction. Marissa and I had just seen the Lady Suffragette and the Fire Chief drove by while we were with Scoop. I guess the Mayor was somewhere across the street. I really enjoyed the Main Street characters.

Looks like you guys had some wonderful meet and greets that last day! Awesome too that you had two unplanned DIS meets.

I'v never seen that guy on Main Street before. I really need to spend more time there rather than run right past to get to the other lands!

Holy Schmoley, I had some catching up to do!! But I am all caught up now. No way can I comment on EVERYTHING, but here are a few thoughts I jotted down as I scrolled:

*your dress is beyond FABULOUS!!! OMGoodness, you look absolutely stunning in it! Great job on the dress, and A did a great job photographing you! Does Josh like to keep photos of you on his personage? Because those are gorgeous! :lovestruc

*the ride photos from Buzz and Space Mountain are hilarious! :lmao: Ya'll are awesome!

*LOVE the PUSH experience you had! Buggar gum!!! :rotfl2: :lmao:

*the delighted look on Alice's face while observing V's headband is so cute! ::yes:: Can I just make a side comment about the headbands? They are adorable, truly they are! But every time you refer to them as "headgear" I can only think of the contraptions folks used to wear with braces years ago...think Darla from Finding Nemo! :lmao:

I forgot to mention in one of your last updates that I'm so glad you had such a good meet with "Push." We had one back in 2011 (I think that was the year of Mark's surgery) and it was so much fun.

Love the pictures with the Fairy Godmother...isn't she the best?

And great photos with Merida as well.

Glad you got to have some additional time with your DIS buddies.

What luck that everyone made it back in time to meet Merida. How great that you met Erin and little V again. Sounds like you had a good time together.

Today we got this winters first snow. We got almost 2 inch of snow so I'm very happy that I got my tires on the car changed last week so I can drive now.

Sounds like you had a fun weekend! I spent mine packing. Got most of my stuff laid out and got the dogs completely packed for their stay at the "doggie spa" as we call it. 5 days to go!! :cool1:

DH calls it "Doggy Day Care" or "Doggy Day Camp"

Yeah for extra supplies. And for something coming out well. I revisited a WIP and after a couple of lines of stitching decided it was not up to snuff (and it totally isn't) and am now piecing together another. So, I'm actually sewing!

Can't wait to see what the auction piece is. I've got no ideas from the teaser pictures on FB.

Big V and Little V being friends is so cute.

Little V's dress is just precious! Kudos to Erin!

Boy, that Fairy Godmother is a good sport standing out in the heat in that outfit. Eesh. :faint: All of the characters wear pretty heavy clothing though now that I think about it.

That guy is Scoop Sanderson The Main Street Gazette reporter. :thumbsup2 Aren't the Characters of Main Street fun?

How sweet that Big V had Little V sign the back of her pillow. :lovestruc

All good thoughts coming your way. Please let us know what happens. Good luck.

Thank you. I do have an update.

I will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way today. I hope it goes well and it's painless. I had to do the 3 hour glucose test when I was pregnant with Alli too - it really sucked.

Sorry you woke up so sore! Hope you were able to get the pain under control. Glad you got so much done one your auction bag.

I had to do the 3 hour with Sarah also and it did suck!!

So I went in this morning for my glucose test. They told me to eat a half a sandwich with a glass of milk at 10 pm last night so I did. I got to the lab and had my first draw at 8 am. Then I had to wait. This number had to come back under 95 and well it didn't. So they called the rest of the test off (hadn't given me the drink yet, had to wait for the first result). I was sent home and am now waiting to hear back from my Dr. so I can schedule an appointment with a nutritionist. I was able to get my lab result on line and my number was 100. So I'm hoping that since my number wasn't too far over where it needed to be we'll be able to control it by diet. I'll keep everyone posted on what happens. Thank you!

Sounds like you had a good sewing day. Good job on the applique stitching!

I am sorry your shoulders are so sore. That’s why I hate working out – it HURTS! Please be careful and try not to overdo it.

How wonderful you were able to meet up again with Erin. I’m glad you had such a good interaction with TFGM.

Looks like someone had some “ga-ga” eyes over Bert, Andrew Bition, Scoop, whoever he is! :)

How sweet that Big V had Little V sign her pillowcase. I bet that made Little V feel quite special.

Ladylyons, I hope the nutritionist is able to get everything under control. Please keep us updated.

You have so many dismeets that we need to create a queue for people to greet YOU! That's awesome that you were able to meet up with Shannon, and Erin and little V.

We've always had great interaction with the Fairy Godmother. She's so delightful and typically there's short lines to see her. Merida is a new favorite of ours.

That Citizen of Main Street dude (Andrew?) looks like a lot of fun. I've not seen him before. At least he made you laugh. That is a great photo of you with him.

Well - I knew that Shannon had told me who he was - but I couldn't remember and I didn't write it down. LOL

Your trip is coming quickly... Any updates on your furlough status? I've been thinking of you.

Hey! I was only a couple of pages behind!!! YAY ME!

That's because I am a nice friend and took it easy on you this weekend.

like you i am not a tea cup fan. i wish i was because it is one the the memories i have with my Dad in Disney 1978!!! Just can't do it... A- needs to step up here and start posting some pictures/videos the ones she has on Facebook are impressive.

I know she does - but she has been so busy... between her honors classes and all her other homework - not to mention, she took a few photo shoots (3 sets of Senior pictures) and she has a family photo shoot coming up next weekend... She is a busy girl!

the meets and greets! HOLY COW! you have a plenty! i cannot wait to meet Merida. she. is. awesome.

I don't think we would have done half as many if we wouldn't have had that pillow case with us. LOL

the CM on main street... well i think your looking at him
Josh.. be afraid be very afraid!

Pfft...

I am IN LOVE with little V's dress!!!

Isn't it adorable??? I love it too!

sorry about the ears falling off! awesome she is fixing them, but V really wore them with PRIDE! i cannot wait FOR THIS!!!! i will be doing the same while SHOWING MY DISNEY SIDE!

Yes she did - it was soo fun!

also wanted to throw out how much i love the shirt with the mickey head with Jimney!!! SWEET!!!!

I hope to stay caught up now?!?!

Hahaha... Thanks!

Marissa and I had just seen the Lady Suffragette and the Fire Chief drove by while we were with Scoop. I guess the Mayor was somewhere across the street. I really enjoyed the Main Street characters.

Yes Shannon! Now I remember! He was the only MS character we saw - but you are right - I forgot he just walked up to me and grabbed my arm and started walking with me... LOL So glad we ran into you one more time before we left - I like this picture much better!

Looks like you guys had some wonderful meet and greets that last day! Awesome too that you had two unplanned DIS meets.

I'v never seen that guy on Main Street before. I really need to spend more time there rather than run right past to get to the other lands!

We did have a great last day - it was a FULL one!

I had never seen any of the Main Street characters prior to this either - I wasn't quite sure who they were?

Holy Schmoley, I had some catching up to do!! But I am all caught up now. No way can I comment on EVERYTHING, but here are a few thoughts I jotted down as I scrolled:

Welcome home Oopsi! Happy to have you back!

*your dress is beyond FABULOUS!!! OMGoodness, you look absolutely stunning in it! Great job on the dress, and A did a great job photographing you! Does Josh like to keep photos of you on his personage? Because those are gorgeous!

Thanks so much!!! I just love how it all turned out!

*the ride photos from Buzz and Space Mountain are hilarious! Ya'll are awesome!

Thanks!!!

*LOVE the PUSH experience you had! Buggar gum!!!

Yah - the buggar gum conversation was quite hilarious!

*the delighted look on Alice's face while observing V's headband is so cute! Can I just make a side comment about the headbands? They are adorable, truly they are! But every time you refer to them as "headgear" I can only think of the contraptions folks used to wear with braces years ago...think Darla from Finding Nemo!

Hahaha... Yah - I probably shouldn't refer to them as that, but - they were so fun and so fun to wear!

I forgot to mention in one of your last updates that I'm so glad you had such a good meet with "Push." We had one back in 2011 (I think that was the year of Mark's surgery) and it was so much fun.

Thanks Kathy - so happy we finally got to meet him.

Love the pictures with the Fairy Godmother...isn't she the best?

And great photos with Merida as well.

Glad you got to have some additional time with your DIS buddies.

TFGM was just awesome! She is so sweet! And we loved Merida too... I can't remember what the conversation was with her - but we were there for a little while.

And of course - I loved meeting all of my Dis friends - they add so much to my trips... and so far, the girls have loved all of them and formed their own friendships with them... Which is really cool.

What luck that everyone made it back in time to meet Merida. How great that you met Erin and little V again. Sounds like you had a good time together.

Hi Lillian!!! IT's great to see you! We did have a great time together - it was so much fun!

Today we got this winters first snow. We got almost 2 inch of snow so I'm very happy that I got my tires on the car changed last week so I can drive now.

Snow... Yikes... Not looking forward to it - but it's that time of year - the weather is starting to turn colder here too... I hope it stays away until AFTER Thanksgiving. LOL

Great update!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Happy to hear you are sewing!!! I bet it feels great to be back at it!

Can't wait to see what the auction piece is. I've got no ideas from the teaser pictures on FB.

I hope to get the photos up this morning before I have to leave for work.

Big V and Little V being friends is so cute.

I agree! They are both so cute together!

Little V's dress is just precious! Kudos to Erin!

We think so too!

Boy, that Fairy Godmother is a good sport standing out in the heat in that outfit. Eesh. All of the characters wear pretty heavy clothing though now that I think about it.

They tried to keep her in the shade as much as possible... It was getting to be frightfully hot that day.

That guy is Scoop Sanderson The Main Street Gazette reporter. Aren't the Characters of Main Street fun?

It was fun meeting him - I hope to seek out the rest of the MS characters some day.

How sweet that Big V had Little V sign the back of her pillow.

It was very sweet... and it's so cute!

Thank you. I do have an update.

Sorry you woke up so sore! Hope you were able to get the pain under control. Glad you got so much done one your auction bag.

This is such a bummer... I sure hope you are able to control it by diet. Please keep us updated.

Sounds like you had a good sewing day. Good job on the applique stitching!

Thanks!

I am sorry your shoulders are so sore. That’s why I hate working out – it HURTS! Please be careful and try not to overdo it.

They were starting to feel better yesterday, then last night my quads hit me... LOL At least I am a train wreck with different parts hurting at different times.

How wonderful you were able to meet up again with Erin. I’m glad you had such a good interaction with TFGM.

Yes! We were all so thrilled when she pulled up!

Looks like someone had some “ga-ga” eyes over Bert, Andrew Bition, Scoop, whoever he is!

Hahaha!

How sweet that Big V had Little V sign her pillowcase. I bet that made Little V feel quite special.

It was very cute!

Hahaha... I think I could say the same about you? LOL

We've always had great interaction with the Fairy Godmother. She's so delightful and typically there's short lines to see her. Merida is a new favorite of ours.

This was our first time meeting her - and I am sure she will be one that the girls request to see again.

That Citizen of Main Street dude (Andrew?) looks like a lot of fun. I've not seen him before. At least he made you laugh. That is a great photo of you with him.

You'll have to seek out the Main Street characters... I plan to on our next trip - they seem so fun!

**********************************************************

I finished my auction bag yesterday - YAY!!! I had every intention of making a wallet with it, but then I got sidetraced by ANOTHER Super Secret Project... :rolleyes1 This will be a FUN one... But it may take me YEARS to finish. :teacher:

I am still a bit sore from my new work out - but today is my next day scheduled for it - so I need to do it before I head out to Target for the day.

Last night, I made eggplant parmesan for dinner - I've never made eggplant in my life before, we were all shocked that it turned out really well.

We watched Para-Norman last night... Interesting movie... Not sure that it's appropriate for little kids though - even though it's a cartoon.

I hope to have pictures of my newest bag posted today... as long as it's light enough to take pictures before I have to leave for work.

Have a great day everyone! :lovestruc

D~

Been following along and am saying hi! I am loving your TR! All your bags and headpieces are incredible! They seem like such a great conversation starter, especially for character meets! You seem like a fun bunch!

Taking a few minutes from my busy work day to catch up.
LOVE the bags!!
Shame someone stole A's jacket. Had that happen once. I just don't get how people could do mean things. :confused3
your interaction with Push was so cute!
We love the Main Street Characters, we also have fun interacting with them.
Sorry that your workout has left you sore.
Another Secret Project that could take years???? Ugh, we will have to wait and see what it is.

Back to work I go. Have a great day!!
