Hi everyone!

I am getting ready to plan my next trip which will be Sunday April 22 - Tuesday May 1, 2007 for our 15th anniversary. 2 adults.
I have rented points twice before but never with the MYW package so I have several questions ( I have done several searches but can't find the specific answers I am looking for):

1. How do I purchase my ME - Park Hoppers and Dining plan?

2. How can I find out how much that will be?

3. I have 4 old park hoppers that still have some tickets on them can I turn them in for credit against my new MYW tickets?

4. Can I add cash to my room keys vs. a credit card? (last time I went I spent WAY more than I was supposed to because keeping track was a pain)

5. How soon can I post about the points I will need to rent on the rent/trade board?

6. Can an owner make my room requests at the time of the reservation (I have seen some said they did this but the last 2 times I rented the owner made none of my requests and they are VERY important to me even though I may not get them I would at least like to try)

7. Is there a way, with being on the MYW tickets and dining plan that I could move Friday and Saturday night and still stay on the same plan.

Well, I think that's enough for now and please know, to all who take the time to answer any or all of my questions - I fully appreciate it!
Thank you very much in advance,
Kelley

Kelley I don't have all of your answers but if you go to the Rent/Trade board they have a FAQ that should.

When you rent points you will not be getting the MYW package. DVC owners can now get the dining plan but no ticket purchase is required. The owner that makes your reservations can have the dining plan added and you pay for that when you check in. Owners can book a reservation 11 months out at their home resort or 7 months out for the other DVC resorts. Once you figure out where you want to stay and how many points it will require then post over on the rent/trade board at 11months.

1 & 2) DVCers and renters do not get the actual "MYW Package", no ticket purchase is tied to the DVC version of the dining plan. Have the person you are renting from let Member Services know you want the plan. You will pay for it when you check-in, but it must be tied to your room ressie in advance. The current price is $37.99 per adult and $10.99 for children 3 to 9, it may increase in price slightly for 2007.

3) You can get credit for your old park hoppers at Guest Services window at the parks or DtD, but it would probably be more advantagious to use them as is.

4) Yes, you can give cash to the resort for your account when you check-in.

5) I would do so at the beginning of May, however, members won't be able to book your room until June...but that will give to time to contact several owners and go with the one you are most comfortable with.

6) Yes, the owner can make your requests at the time of the ressie. Try to make them general requests, smoking preference, general location and view...no specific room numbers.

7) No I don't think so, Disney requires a minimum stay on cash at a non-DVC resorts to add the plan, and as far as I know, DVC owners may not book a cash DVC ressie through Member Services for non-members, the owner must be staying in the room for a cash DVC ressie booked via Member Services.

You can only use one ticket for credit towards another ticket. With only two people you would only be able to use two of the older tickets.

With the dining plan, you will pay for credits towards dining that start the day you check in and expire at midnight the day you check out. So you could have credits to use on Friday (if you check out on Friday), but not on Saturday. You would purchase your tickets for the number of days that you want. Even more than your trip if you like (to use at a later date).

Just one comment. With the new ticket structure, probably the most economical thing would be to hold on to those old park hoppers for a short trip. I am going in Sept with family and was so surprised that after X many days (3 I think) the daily cost to get into the parks goes down dramatically, like 3 dollars a day or something like that. If you don't see any short trips in the future, it may be better to apply them to the price of the new tickets if they give you the face value as credit.

We will be celebrating our 15th at that same time period also!

Thank you very much everyone! I will take this all in to consideration before deciding what to do. I think the problem is that there are just too many options for obsessive/ budget-minded planners like myself to deal with. WDW 101 anyone? lol
I am so thankful to the DIS and people like yourselves who really help make the planning experience fun!
