Several ADR Questions

Hi I hope someone can help me. I have several questions. I am staying at VWL for 7 nights starting 12/21 I can make ADR's starting 6/24
1- I have linked my DVC reservation to MDE but I have heard varying reports about making 180+10 reservations on the website. Is this fixed?
2 I will be taking the DDP but don't want to add it until later because I don't want to pay for it now. Can I add it to my dining reservations later?
3. What time do dining reservations open for booking?

1.) I don't know if it's "fixed" but I didn't have any major issues booking the ADRs at 180, at least none related to having a DVC reservation. My issues were simply ADR based. Sometimes the search wouldn't work and it would say "Unable to search for reservations at this time." I would just keep trying again and again and eventually it would work. Also, the window didn't open up "on time", but I did get all of the ADRs I wanted and pretty much the exact times too.

2.) You can add the DDP pretty much at any time. I don't know for sure when the cutoff is though. But the restaurants don't need to know if you have a DDP until you are actualy sitting in the restaurant. They'll ask you if you have one, but in case they don't, make sure they know when they take your order.

3.) I always see lots of different times posted for everyone. I believe online they open at 6am and on the phone at 7am. But be prepared for there to be delays if you try at this time. I did find that trying to get my initial reservations first thing in the morning was bit difficult and I had to keep refreshing the page. But when I wanted to change my ADRs a couple of days later during the afternoon, I had no problems whatsoever.

So you should be fine, you just have to be patient and keep trying!

Oh and if you have any issues using the site, just call MS. They were very helpful with an ADR I had trouble with.

Keep in mind that it is 6am Florida time. I live in Texas so it was 5am my time. I booked mine this morning as we are arriving on 12/19. I got online at 4:45 and couldn't do anything. It was exactly 5am (my time) and it was open and I was able to make all of my reservations for up to 10 days. We are staying through 12/27 so I was able to make all of my ADRs without a problem.

You can book reservations online starting right after midnight eastern except the site is often down for maintenance during the wee hours and not up until 5 or 6 eastern. The last time I had the issue was when I tried to reserve in April for October this year. The online system would not allow me to reserve any day beyond exactly 180 days out so had to call in the morning and wait forever for someone to answer the call. The result was inability to get Be Our Guest for dinner for any day we will be there even though we will be staying 9 nights. For the trip I had earlier in the year, the system actually worked; for the one from last year it did not. In essence, it seemss to be luck of the draw and I doubt it is fixed.

1. Sometimes.
2. You don't add it to your dining reservations. You just use it when you get there. For pre-paid meals, you will have to pay in advance. You can have the payment changed to the plan after you purchase the plan, but I think that's risky. You can just have the restaurant credit back the money and charge the plan when you pay your bill.
3. 6 a.m. online, 7 a.m. over the phone, Eastern time. I the +10 doesn't work online, call.
