Hello Chell,
I could tell you so much about the Seventh Day Adventist church. I used to be an adventist. They do attend church on saturday. They believe that we are still under the fourth commandment, we are to keep the sabbath day holy. They don't believe in doing any work on saturday, or selling or buying anything on that day. They also follow the old testament law about not eating pork or shellfish, etc.
They do study their Bibles. But, they also have a prophet, Ellen White, a lady that lived in late 1800,s early 1900's. I believe that the way that they understand the Bible is just the way that she interpreted it.
Many of their beliefs are similar to other denominations, but some things are very different. Such as the way they interpret Daniel and Revelations and end time events.
There is plenty of material out there you could look up. I would advise you to look up some sites from former adventists to get a glimpse of what the adventist world is like. There actually is a site called formeradventist.com. You could search Dale Ratzlaff, he has an internet web site with alot of info. He also has written a couple of books that I would HIGHLY reccomend for anyone interested in the Seventh Day Adventist church!!
I just want to say that you can look up their official sites, but you will not get the whole story there.
I hope this helps a little.
