Welllll,

After seven years away from the house of the mouse we are finally going back!
This will be our first trip without DD. However she was the catalyst for going back.

Back in August 2013 We were umming and ahhhing about a holiday and then she announced that her and her boyfriend had booked to go to Florida in May 2014. DW and I looked at each other and both thought at the same time - NO WAY ! (We're kinda telepathic like that :) ) SO we jumped straight on the laptop and started pricing things up. DS (23) piped up that we were not allowed to go without him and so we booked for the three of us.

This is us: Me DW and DS - taken in 2007

We are going 4th October for 14 days, staying at SSR with a two night break staying at HRH Universal. Upgraded to Intermediate SUV car. All booked through Virgin Holidays.

Now seven years has been a long time and soooo much has changed ! We have spent months planning and researching new things. The biggest thing to get put head around was the free dining, ADR's and MDE. We've never had free dining and have only very rarely eaten in the parks or hotels. Cue way too much time spent looking at restaurant menus, reviews, pictures etc. but we eventually came up with a list of possibilities for our ADR's.
We have spent a lot of time learning about MDE and then even more time arguing with Virgin trying to get things linked :furious: (Many posts on this over on Trip Planning!) We also have used www.Easywdw.com to plan our 'what days to do what day' strategy.

ADR's booked :
Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Rainforest Cafe (DTD)
Rose and Crown
Cape May Cafe (breakfast)
Turf Club Bar and Grill
Sanaa
Mama Melrose (Fantasmic package)
Raglan Road
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Be Our Guest
T Rex
Via Napoli

Extras booked :
Gatwick Airport V Room
Extra Leg Room seats
Blue Man Group tickets
Keys to The Kingdom Tour
Memory Maker

We are now at 69 days and I'm waiting anxiously for the 60 day mark to look at fastpass +, airline seats + hotel on-line check in.

Argument with Virgin yesterday. Logged on to assign our seats but can't do it as we've bought extra legroom seats ???!!!!! Sooooo I pay extra but now cannot pick my seats? Grrrrrr

Cracked open my big pot of loose change today - cashed it in and then bought $502 dollars with it :) :) :)

Yay !!!!!

Three ESTA's done and approved - another step closer, another box ticked :)

Tony

E-tickets available and printed :)

Alamo 'save time' done (hopefully it works well!)

Fastpasses all done now too :)

Tony

We leave on 30th sept and also booked through virgin holidays. Is it easy to do the alamo self check in? We have done it in previous years when virgin sent out tickets and it included a leaflet from alamo with instructions on how to complete self check in. Do you go through alamo or virgin holidays website?

The leaflet came from Virgin holidays. The web address is www.alamo.com/offer/virgin

Hope you have a fabulous trip - and as much as I hope it goes slowly for you, I'm actually hoping it goes pretty quickly for me as we will be going when you are on your way back :rotfl2:
