I don't think I've seen you on my PTR since before we cancelled the trip. I did a couple updates over there on some Disney stuff we did and I have one more, then I am retiring that PTR. I'm reluctant to start a cruise PTR because ever since I started doing PTRs I've had to cancel every one of my trips!

Marco gifted me with this "work of art" on the last day of our stay , last Summer : the painting shows where our room was ... wow !! on the main savannah !!! I was looking at it just few minutes ago !

LOVE Them...... The tink is beautiful....The iPad case so cool, I like the retro print and the Tink is so pretty!

I absolutely love the Tink bag. I happened upon this by accident and was attracted to it by its colour. I thought it was too big for me and did not really want to spend any more money. One of the guys in the store made me pick it up and have a look in the mirror with it, but I managed to put it down and walk out of the store without it. Almost before I was out of the door, I started to second guess this decision. In the end I went back the next day to get it. I am so glad that I did. It has pride of place on my desk at work and it puts a big smile on my face whenever I look at it.

Planning on May 2 - 7 2013. We would run the Expedition Everest Challenge on the 4th.

We went as a family back in 2006 and my brother and I got the parents dinner at Jiko as a thank you gift - mom LOVED AKL and has always said she would like to stay there when she goes back "someday" - hopefully she'll see the price for renting points and our someday will be sooner rather than later!

Question I'm hoping someone knows - I saw that there is a sunset safari offered (starts with a W) that leaves at 3:45 and concludes with dinner at Jiko. Has anyone gone on this? Did you think it was worth the $190? Were the animal encounters unique? Would be doing this on our last night, so we will have gone on Kiliminjaro Safari at AK and will have been watching animals all week from AKL. And finally, when you eat at Jiko do you choose from a limited menu or do you have your pick of the "normal" menu?

Many of us here have done the Wanyama (Sunset) Safari and I believe most of us will agree -- it is definitely worth the cost! It is a totally unique experience. You will be part of a small group (I believe 12 is the maximum number) who are in a truck out on the Savannahs of the Lodge. You will get up close and personal with some of the animals, plus you will gain invaluable information from your Guides.

Dinner at Jiko is served family-style, so you will pretty much get to try a bit of everything on the menu!

DH and I will be doing Wanyama for the 2nd time for our anniversary in October!

I'll see if I can find any of my pictures from the first time we did it. If not, I'm sure others here will post pictures!

Good Morning J's & K's

I am sorry that I have been missing in action. I had just gotten back from San Diego and some serious family issues happened. Things are a little better now, but I have been out of state forever it seems. Got back late last night.

Hope everyone here is doing well. I am kind of beaten down right now so it may be a little while before you hear from me. I am going to try to read back and catch up with you all.

I really have missed this wonderful group of friends and the caring, fun and support we have for one another.

Please pray for my grandkids, they have contacted foot, mouth and hand disease. It is a weird virus which usually only effects children under 5. However, all three of them now have it. 3, 6, 9 year olds. It gives them high fevers, red spots on their face, hands, feet and with my oldest she now has them down her throat and her entire body. Also, bad sore throats. It is highly contagious. The family has been sick for the last two weeks. Started with the 3 year old and has moved on. So far our DD and DSIL have not contacted it.

I hope that your grandkids feel better soon. By the way it is not correct that this only affects kids under the age of 5. I know a number of adults who had it, too. As with most kid's illnesses, the older you are the more serious it tends to be.
