Seven Dwarves Mining Train with 4yo

Although I agree that a 4 yr old isn't a toddler, but rather a preschooler, I completely disagree with the second half of your statement. Not liking an amusement ride at age 4 doesn't mean that there is a disability involved. It just means they don't enjoy the ride. We all like different things - even at age 4.
I didn't take it as the kid must have a disability if they don't like it. Just that it isn't intense so as long as a kid doesn't have a disability (SPD, physical, whatever), they would be able to handle it. Not necessarily like it. Just handle it.

Depends on the child. My older child loves all rides, the faster the better. My 5 yr old, however is not a fan of anything wilder than It's a Small World.

I would suggest rope dropping 7DMT and FP PP. Belle's stand by wait isn't bad as PP.

I don't think you need to stress about being there well before rope drop unless you are going on a super crowded day! We were there on a day that ended up having a crowd level of 8 (Touring Plans) in December. We arrived just after rope drop. We strolled over to SDMT and though it said the standby was 30 minutes, we just walked through the queue and right onto the ride. The "wait" couldn't have been more than 10 minutes. When we left it looked like we could easily have ridden it a second time in the same way, but we were eager to move on to other attractions.

i was at MK at rope drop last sunday (1/23) and since this was our first visit to MK, we had no clue where to go once we got in. I sensed other people did, and it took about 10 minutes to get to Seven dwarf mine train. It was my wife, our 4 year old daughter and myself. We marched through the line pretty fast, about 10 minute wait.

My 4 year old daughter is 44 inches tall (yes, she's quite tall) and she does well with roller coasters (ie. our local six flags). She went with my wife, since they only allow 2 per row. My wife said she was crying and balling throughout the whole ride. We have the evidence with photopass/memory maker. After that, we spent the whole day having fun and the next time we went to MK, she told me, "Dad, i wanna try it again". So even though i canceled our FP, we waited "60 minutes" (Disney lies, it was not even 20 min wait). She loved the ride the 2nd time.

As you know, 4 year olds are angels one day and demons the next or vice versa. My suggestion is to ease him/her into MK, maybe with Barnstormer or Tea cups and see how they react. If they react well, then try 7DMT (as long as it's not a crazy wait).

BTW, my daughter said the highlight of the vacation was going on 7DMT.

BTW, the busiest rides are 7DMT and Peter Pan flight. Enchanted tales with Belle is next to 7DMT and there's not much of wait when i was there. I would suggest Peter pan first and then 7DMT, then Winnie the pooh (right across from 7DMT) and then Enchanted tales with Belle or Under the Sea.

Once you get to MK, this will all make sense. Have fun at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Our 4 year old grandson rode this over and over (he loves anything that goes fast) and loves it. The only ride he did not like was Dinosaur at AK.

I didn't take it as the kid must have a disability if they don't like it. Just that it isn't intense so as long as a kid doesn't have a disability (SPD, physical, whatever), they would be able to handle it. Not necessarily like it. Just handle it.

Sorry if I read this post incorrectly. I can see it the way you explained it, too.

My son was a couple months shy of 3 last year but he's tall so he could go on. We were a little leery about it because he had never really been on a ride that size before. He grinned from ear to ear the whole time. He was BEAMING. It's not a kiddie roller coaster but it's a pretty tame all ages type ride. That said, my oldest child wouldn't have enjoyed it at that age. If you're concerned try a ride like Peter Pan or Barnstormer (shorter and less line wait time) first and see how he does (assuming you have more than 1 day you can rope drop).
