I was just searching for this answer when I saw your post. I googled it and wiki says a media preview scheduled April 30th -May 2nd and should open shortly after. Which sucks cause that's the dates I'll be there. If this is true I'll be mad. I want to ride it and don't want to wait two years to do it.

Anybody got firm details???

The media event from the 4/30 - 5/2 seems to be pretty solid. Last week, someone posted they overheard some executives at the mine train site mentioning "May 3rd" as a grand opening. This all lines up. I'm not sure that May 3rd date is reliable but I think the media event dates are factual.

only new info I got out of this that wasn't anything we weren't expecting was height for ride is 38" and it will be a FP+ ride. And the Dave guy kept saying amazing.

Disney announced long ago that the ride would have a 38" minimum height.

As for FP+, I don't know if anyone ever specifically said that it would have it. But in a world where they have FP+ for Journey into Imagination and the fireworks shows, it isn't really a shock that a brand new coaster in Fantasyland will have FP+.
