Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Restraints

It all depends on size of thighs, weight really doesn't factor in. If you have larger thighs it is problematic. I know some people that are a similar weight to you, although a little shorter, but have large thighs and can't fit as a result.
I think this is true because dh’s legs are really in shape and his thighs aren’t very large but his shoulders and upper body are trouble when it comes to restraints that go over your head. Sometimes they can’t get it pushed down enough over his shoulders

I have large thighs and hips and fit no problems. It's a bit uncomfortable but I fit. I've not heard of people not fitting on the ride.

I've never noticed anything about a number of bar clicks required? I do have big thighs (no matter how my weight fluctuates, the thighs hold onto it!) and the sides of the bar squish into them - it's not exactly comfortable - but the ride is still enjoyable.

I don't know about the "three clicks" part, but they're just as bad as they were last year. I'm 5'9 and plus sized. My stomach isn't an issue at all when I ride this ride, and I don't think my upper thighs are too much of a problem, but I feel like my lower things and knees are just jammed together due to the narrowness of the side bars on the restraint. It's the only ride in any of the parks that I find uncomfortable in this particular way. It's not horrible for me, and it doesn't stop me from riding, but I do think "oof" whenever I get in.

I guess. I got certified thunder thighs and it's fine. I mean, they are HUGE, my biggest area by far. Even when I was at my heaviest (300+), it was tight and not very comfortable but I fit. I'm well below that now and it's loose but I still have extremely large thighs.

I haven't ever heard them talk about clicks though. We've been riding since the grand opening of New Fantasy Land (I was there on its opening day)
Could that vary by CM? It shouldn't but could it?

As I said, this was shortly after it opened and they were quite clear about that, maybe things have changed, I don't know, I haven't tried since.

When you’re the size of an 8th grader, you fit onto everything just fine. You also get asked if your parents are home when salespeople come to the door, even though you’re in your mid 30s.
Well, ok, that one makes sense, but really those lap bars are tight for a lot of people that I know.

How could they hear clicks in that chaos?

I'm a small person so I never have issues, but I haven't seen or heard many people complain about the ride before, at least no more so than any other ride.

Hmm. I have.

When I rode the first time I was still at goal and quite petite. And it wasn’t comfy to get into and was quite squashy.

So I fit just fine and still don’t like the vehicle or restraints.

And I barely like the ride, so I really don’t have to worry about it personally too much. It was better at night, though, which was the second time I rode. Felt more coastery at night rather than just like a dark ride.

I've not heard of people not fitting on the ride.

Thanks to this thread, now you have.

Don't ask me how they can hear clicks in there, but they were insistent.

To the OP, I guess I’d just book a FP and try. I don’t think there is any rule about X number of clicks on the restraint anymore, if there ever was (who knows — maybe it was just the CM that day). If there’s a problem with fitting, you won’t have wasted much time walking through the FP line and I’m sure they’d give you a replacement FP to use at another ride at your convenience. It’s not at all a comfortable fit for many, but I think it’s worth giving it a chance to maybe ride at least once.

Next time one of us should get out and push. That'll upgrade the experience somewhat (for the whole 30 seconds).

I think the seat configuration in SDD is more of what they'll use going forward. My guess with 7DMT is that the (totally and utterly worthless) swinging component limits the real estate for seating since the "sphere of safety" has to be much wider than the train plus arm length.

I ride this ride quite often, and I am not a small girl. It is tight, but not so uncomfortable that I cannot enjoy the ride. The restraints are smooth moving and I have never felt or heard a click. You have to be careful not to close them to tightly, because they lock you in there good and it can get TIGHT. The CM's just walk and ask you to push up on the lap bar, that is it.

The only rides I've ever heard then need to get a certain number of clicks on are at universal. They never put the restraints on you at SDMT. Like mentioned above, they have the guest do it and only come by to check by having you push up. They have done it that way since opening day.

So I feel pretty confident that OP encountered a CM that decided to do their own thing or something. Maybe one that had been working at universal? Specifically Gringotts. That ride the do need 3 clicks on
