Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FP+ Opening

We're down from 4/26 to 5/10 so I'm really hoping to be able to get on as well....

We're gonna be at WDW 04/26 - 05/06 and also hope there are some soft openings ... I seriously doubt there will be any FP+ availablity until the ride officially opens.

So the "dedication" is scheduled for 10:15 am on May 2nd.

I know it is supposed to be for invited media only BUT do you think it would be a good idea to make a small sign for my youngest that says:

"I ate all my vegetables so I could get to 38"- can I please ride!?" or something like that.

This is completely true by the way- we have gotten both my kids to eat healthier so the could "ride the big boy rides".

It probably won't get us on the ride but I think it would be fun none the less.

We'll be flying down on 5/3 and have reservations at the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert party that evening. I'll definitely swing by SDMT and see what's going on.

so we just booked a last minute trip for 5/24 in an offsite condo. Need to order my tix. yet...will I be able to get a FP for it? Any idea when FP will open up for it?

A soft-open means the attraction can be open or closed at any time. The only way to ride is if it happens to be open when you walk by.

Does anyone know about what time they may do soft openings ? Is it usually in the morning, afternoon, evening ?

HECK YA! Do it for sure!!!

We tried the "eat your food so you can grow" tactic with DD4 and it didn't fly. Here was last nights dinner conversation:

Me: What three things do you gotta do honey?
DD4: Eat, Sleep, Grow
Me: Right! Now eat your dinner
DD4: That's otay dad. I don wanna ride dat bad.
Me: *palm-forehead*
DW: No problem, we'll jack up here shoes with extra insoles.
Me: *palm-forehead*

I think sons are more gullible :rotfl2: My boys, for the most part, have been really good with it but they do make us get out the tape measure after each meal to measure them- it's hilarious.

What do think Universal's number is going to jump to this/next year? ;)

I'm guessing USO sees a gain of at least a million (maybe 1.5) but IOA stays relatively flat, maybe a few hundred thousand.

Universal has the same problem as Disney, getting all of the IOA people to also go to USO, getting another million to USO would be a massive success. I'm sure Disney is hoping for the same with Pandora at AK, I doubt it will make much of a difference on the MK numbers but if it has a huge impact on AK's numbers it's a success.

As someone mentioned earlier successful expansions are good for all of us, the success of DCA and HP only encourage Disney and Universal to spend more money and the more they spend the more we (visitors) win!

Agreed. But now in order to ride one of the new attractions (Hogwarts Express) you will have to have an admission ticket to both parks. You can't just buy a UO ticket and ride HE because you are forced to exit in the opposite park in which you boarded the train. It's not a roundtrip deal.

That right there will guarantee that most people who enter UO will also be entering IOA. I am betting at least a half to three quarter million or more bump in attendance at IOA.

How about a pair of platform shoes? :thumbsup2

Problem solved!:thumbsup2

Our 3 year old son is only 37", I keep hoping he grows another inch in the next three weeks.

We are in the same boat. My DS is also 37 1/2" and we leave in 22 days. I am going to try to see if I can get some shoe inserts for him. I keep giving extra milk hopping we hit that growth spurt. Lol

Just a word of warning....another thread got locked today by discussing how to skate by height requirements so I would tread lightly on this topic. Not that I personally care what anyone does in their own world (with the exception of standing in a 4 hour line for A&E;)).

Personally, I would do this...:)

Do they typically lock threads when people try to bypass the system? It seems much of the information is that type of information. cB
