Hi everyone - I haven't posted here for a while but just realised its only 6 months to go and we still have loads of planning and prep to do. Aaagh!

Can anyone tell me the ways in which you can settle your tab at the end of your stay when staying in a resort hotel - (you know what it's like- you've put everything on that handy little credit card they give you, disguised as a romm key/park ticket, and you have to pay up!)

I was wondering whether it had to be on a credit card or whether you could use your travellers cheques/cash as well?

Thanks for any advice you can give

They had our credit card details and an amount which could be used on our key card if we wished. I would imagine to use the key card you would need to give them your card details as they know then they can deduct any money you spend. I don't know but maybe it's possible to put money on your key card by paying up front with travellers cheques, someone else will probably be able to help you with that one as I have never done it.

They will accept CC or cash and i imagine they would take TC as well

We gave them a credit card so that we could use the room cards and the night before we left we paid with travellers cheques. Where are you staying as you get a credit limit before you get charged. Deluxe it is $1500. We regularly went to the front desk to check what we had spent to make sure we did not get any nasty surprises.

Just remember if you want to pay it via another means you need to pay it the night before as they assume quite often that you want express check out and they charge your card around 8.00 a.m. on your departure day:thumbsup2

We have always used express checkout - the resort just bills your CC on the day of departure and you get a statement posted on or under your door the night before. I think at the Dolphin you could check your bill on the TV at any time as well - not sure if you can do that at Disney resorts though.

We have always paid up in credit card or cash, not tried TC's but I'm sure you can.

You need to settle up the night before you leave if you want to use cash and TC's otherwise they charge the amount outstanding to your card over night on the last night.
