Seth & Sonya's June trip, the one with no rain! (part 1)

Well this is the start of my trip report, DH and I were there June 8th-16th. As I read the titles of the other trip reports I notice that the theme of rain is everywhere. Well, it did rain a lot, but just not on us. We were VERY VERY VERY VERY lucky!

Who we are:
DH, Seth, 32yo
Me, Sonya, 31 yo
No kids. My 8th trip, his 4th.

We will never, ever do June again. At least that is what DH says. Too hot!

So here wo go!

Saturday, June 8

Yea! Today is the day! We get to the Florida border just after lunch and so we stop and have some orange juice. One more stop in Ocala at the Disney Welcome Center and we figure we will be there before we know it. But, the traffic was bad and then they closed the Tollroad because of a bad accident. We had to go almost to Tampa to get a road that would take us to WDW. We were so hungry we stopped at a Chick-fil-A and had dinner. I had thought we would eat at the Boardwalk or Downtown Disney, what a change! As we finally drove in to WDW we could see the roof of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It looked huge. We drove in to All Star Movies and things were getting pretty exciting! We got to check in and found out they put us in Mighty Duck. What? Now Fantasia is more expensive! So we go to our room and it’s facing the parking lot, not the quiet view we requested. It does have a king bed and fridge, but no shower! It’s just the floor, a drain, and a shower curtain. So we call and say we don’t like this and they say every king bed room is like this! (It’s not, we have been twice in king rooms and they have been normal.) But they were nice enough to move us, thank goodness, to Love Bug. A bit farther and no king bed, but at least it’s quiet and has a normal shower.
All this take so much time that we decide not to go anywhere, just explore the resort. We note that the food court looks better although there is no sushi. We go shopping in the little store. I get my first Mickey Head rice crispy treat. We get some other snacks and head back to the room to unpack and go to bed. Big day tomorrow!

Glad to hear that you finally made it! How did you like the "Love Bug" section on ASMO?

Thanks for the report! We stayed at ASMu in March, and had a king bed room with the open shower - actually it was a handicapped accesible room. We kept the room, but had to remember not to walk into the bathroom wearing socks after a shower!
