I can sympathize. Living in TX, it takes a day just to get halfway across the state. I wish I was back in FL, tho. I'd be closer to Paradise (otherwise known as WDW ). Plus I'd be closer to my parents. Hmmmm.... maybe I can move back soon.... I'm a telecommuter, so technically I don't ever need to go into the office. Do you think the company will allow me to move? Hmmm... may have to ask about that one....

I have been suffering from the blues for a couple of weeks now - that's why I haven't posted as much, etc. I just really holed up in the house over the holidays, except for getting my work done. Sometimes you just have to fight extra hard not to let the sadness overwhelm you. So........ dance with me, dance with me!!

Looks like, most likely her basketball career is over and who knows what will happen with her scholarship.....her dad has always really pushed her in sports.....but she's alive!!

Since Cedar Point is only 40 minutes from me also, I would love for the YaYa meet to be there! My problem is when, since I still work weekends (unless I get that promotion-still waiting to hear), it will depend on when you want to do this.

Also, I have limited vacation time still and used some of it to go home over Christmas.

What are y'all thinking for a time and place?

By the way, I got unbored and hung some wallpaper in DD's room. When she and DH got home, we all decided we didn't like it, so we promptly tore it down before the paste set. 3 hours of work for nothing....sigh.

And by the way, y'all are ticking me off. Every time you mention rhyming wars or yaya poetry, you keep calling for Jodie. What am I-chopped liver? You think she has these wars all by herself? Or are you giving me the subliminal message that you want me to keep my lousy poetry to myself? Bonnie stomps off to the Elder YaYa cabin and pulls up the stairs muttering "see if I share any more of my creative writing with you all!

Sherry, the baking soda in the microwave helps, but I would clean it out first with a solution of Dawn and water even if it appears clean. I open all the windows and break out the fans when that happens at our house. Even in the middle of the winter, but I don't suppose you can do that with Julian. By the way--GOOD JOB JULIAN!!!!! and mom!

Michele doesn't look anything like I pictured her. I had her in my mind as this tall dark brunette. Funny how we get these mental images, isn't it. I had seen a picture of Karen before so knew what she looked like.

All these energetic yayas! I gotta get back to Curves!

Nancy no matter how much I want something there is just no way to get me on a plane. I would die of fright. Im deathly terrified of flying. If we didn't live here I would never get to WDW unless we drove. The mere thought of getting on a plane gives me panic attacks.

Karen, like you I was deathly afraid to fly. Had to a few times for business, had panic attacks and cried the whole way. I got over it two ways. One, I made myself do it. Two, I found a free course on the internet called "Fear of flying" The more I learned, the less I was afraid. I will look for the link for you. I have flown 6 times in the past year without problems. Maybe you could too.

Karen....DH designed defibrillators at his last job.....he is always pointing them out on TV....ER uses the ones from his company.....and not too long before he started working for the company some of the actors came to see how to use them properly....I MISSED George Clooney by a mere month or two!!

Cedar Point is in Sandusky Ohio on the Shores of Lake Erie. About 1 hour 15 minutes east of Toledo and about the same west of Cleveland. It is probably within 3-4 hours for Elaine, Betty, Jennifer, Laura and 40 minutes for Sherry and I. I know Barry Hom has asked about a summer meet there and Towncrier usually has a meet there as well.

Cedar Point is an amusement park. It is home to the Millenium Force (world's highest roller coaster) and is supposed to be the roller coaster capital of the world. It also has some great shows. I don't go very often at all, not being a roller coaster fan, so I'm not terribly familiar with what all is there, but I know Sherry was there about a year ago or so, and maybe less.

Karen, I do know that feeling quite well. I hope it passes for you. Oh and I wouldn't put too much weight on that test you took... it said I was a floater which is mostly true, but it said I have high self esteem and that I totally don't!

You should have marked down that you beguiled men with your charms - that would have pushed up a notch or two!! (And no, I did not click that one!! )

Actually - I can't dance at all - and my MIL is a dance instructor and DD has been taking lessons since she was 5! I can just stand in one spot and shake like mad! That is the honest-to-goodness truth! I didn't even go to the prom because of my lack of dancing skill.

I am also about 3 hours from Cedar Point. I don't like the chunk rides, though! I like the water log thing and the cars where you get to smash into everyone - (I think I have road rage!) - I always get in trouble for hitting other cars at the parks. I'm like - "Oops, my foot slipped off the pedal......"

Hey, we could always dress up like bar maids and get an official YaYa Sister photo - and Shep and Jay could be the bartender and soldier dude......
