We went when my DD was 3 or 4 and she loved it! I have awesome pics of her with Elmo, Zoe, and all the other characters. It's not Disney, but it's not meant to be. It was a nice, small, manageable park for toddlers. It has very cute shows and parade. You get to walk down a lifesize replica of Sesame Street, which was cool. We went in fall and did not go to water park area, so I can't speak to that but the rest of the park was very clean when we were there.

We just came back. Our 1st visit on Friday the 13th was NOT good. The place was VERY crowded, understaffed, dirty with 45 minute lines for just something to drink. We went to Breakfast with Elmo and the food was awful. We were not going to go back on Saturday - our thought was it could only be worse. Well.....after all that Saturday was MUCH better. So much so we did it again on Sunday.

There were less people in the park on the weekend (go figuere) they were completely staffed, there were people cleaning all around (something I never saw on Friday) and our dinner with Big Bird was VERY GOOD.

It was like night and day. My almost 2 1/2 year old loved every minute of the weekend. We saw the parade 5 times during our trip, we rode the rides and played in the water. She loved her special time with the charachters during the dining and still wakes up every morning talking about it.

One staff person told me on the weekend that they are not fully staffed until the high school kids are out for the summer - so that could have been the issue on Friday - but the whole park seemed to be filled with people who just didn't care. Dirty diapers around - piles of dirty toilet paper on the floors - food just left on the ground. But like I said that all changed on the weekend and we will add the park to our annual adventures with our DD.

I agree with "It's not Disney". I found the parents were the worst offenders, literally pushing my son out of the way to get their kid to the front of the line. It totally turned me off to future vists. However, my son still wants to know when we are going back, and we haven't been down there in 2 years. He liked it, but I didn't. It seems from these that visits there are hit or miss. I hope your visit is a hit! Good Luck.

I agree that the biggest problem you will have at SP will be the other guests. The understaffing was definitely a result of school still being in session around here. It seems to be in my experience that the bigger problems and crowds are around the family tube ride, Ernie's wave pool area. Stick to the back of the park, it is less populated. Although most things are staffed by young adults, there seems to be more managers walking around lately. Don't forget your small cooler of food and snacks...they have a nice policy of letting you bring in food.

The kids here did not get out until the 17th or 18th, which is definately why Friday would have been understaffed, along with I'm sure school trips would have added to the crowds. My kids love going to Sesame, but I do not. It's not like it used to be. For $25 more than addmision you can get a season pass, everyone has one!!!! It gets really busy and I don't think the kids working there really care about working. Other than the Characters, they are really good and great with the kids. The shows are good, kids will love it. Parents will notice the bad things. The price, the cleanliness, the annoying people. Just like Disney, get there early, leave for lunch, come back for parade and then the park SHOULD lighten up a little after the parade.

We went a couple of years ago and all 3 kids really enjoyed it. We went for a weekend in mid-June, before it was really hot and before most schools were out. The crowds weren't too bad, the park was clean, and the parade was good. The kids had a blast on the slides and the play areas. I would definitely recommend dinner with the characters. That was the only character meeting we did over the weekend and it was well worth it. DH is 6'6" and he and Big Bird were going back to back so the kids could see who was taller! Food was pretty good too.

To the OP, my guess is that you will not be overly impressed but your son will love it.

You couldn't pay me to go back to that place. It was a complete nightmare! Unbelievably filthy, horribly crowded, rude parents. They even ran out of ice cream.

My family has season passes and we live in Langhorne, PA (home of Sesame place). If you go during the week and early the crowds are manageable. The later in the summer you go the more crowded it gets. Our kids love it there. I found the characters approachable and the lines to meet them very reasonable. I don't do well there when the crowds are huge, and yes, the other parents seem to be the biggest problem.
The rides are great and the water areas accessible for many ages. Last week we went with family- 7 kids aged 1.5-9 and they all had a really great time.
The shows are really cute.
My advice would be to go early, during the week, and expect it to be a theme park atmosphere, but not Disney standards.

I hope no one is trying to compare Sesame Place to Disney. That would be like comparing a Chevy to a Mercedes or apples to oranges...you get the drift. It's just silly to compare the two as they have nothing to do with one another. We live about 5 mins away from Sesame and have been there a couple times and it was just fine. The kids love it and that's all that matters to me.

not to change the subject ,but nice to see all the Diser's from Bucks Co.Four out of last few post have been from Bucks.Levittown here,I see Langhorne represented also.Now back to the subject,SP is for the kids they love it.Cant be compred to Disney which is for all of us "Kids".I say try it your kids will like it.

It's really not that bad to me, but on a hot weekend in July, it's tough. If you get there early and beat the crowd, it's not so bad. If you want to ride the big tube slide... is it called sky splash? I forget... but if you want to ride that, go on early because that line gets crazy. Make sure to save your spot for the parade if you want to be up front. A nice organized place o meet characters is 123 smile at me. We love slimey's chutes because even a 1 year old can ride that one. We save the splash pools and ernie's water works for the crowded part of the day and the dry rides for right before the park closes. I refuse to stand in a long line in the heat of the day. We usually eat lunch during the hottest part of the day or go to an Elmo's World show to cool off. I have to say that if we were traveling more than an hour and staying at a hotel, I'm not sure it would be worth it to go year after year. However, it is a great place to have a passport for because you don't get upset when you spend some time in line or don;t get to do everything. Plus, my daughter has met Bob, Maria and Miles and Gabbi there, so that was pretty fun.

I have not been there for over 15 years and hope it will be forever. The last time I went it was a Sat and extremely crowded for June. I was with a large group that included my 3 kids. I took my eyes off DD who was 2 1/2 at the time and she disappeared. I went to the customer service area and they just told me to listen for lost children announcements. It took over 1/2 an hour to find her and the people were extremely uncooperative. I have 5 grandkids now and they will never experience that place with me and we only live 15 minutes away in NE Philly. It may have changed but I'm not willing to find out.

As long as you aren't expecting it to be like Disney you will enjoy it. My boys have enjoyed every trip there. We usually go on Mon and Tues to avoid the crowds. They love the characters and have never waited more than 5 minutes to see any character. We have done the character breakfast and luch. The breakfast was ok. We really enjoyed the lunch. It was a nice break from the heat and there were a lot of characters.

I have gone the past 2 years with DS now 5. We had a good time. He wants to go back this year but it is not in budget hoping for DIS in May. Anyway we had lots of fun. Learned a few things- Would not reccommend weekend it gets very crowded. Bring in your own food - not enough food available so lines get extremely long. We stayed just outside SP second time and it was great. Took break mid day. Water can get dirty by the end of the day, but I think this is true with just about any busy water park. Lots of suncreen and I like to wear those swim shorts so the insides of the legs don't get so chapped. My son was never really into the characters but we did one character meal each trip just for pic. Felt breakfast was bettter of the 2 though not great. It is not disney but it is fun.

please let us know how it went we are planning a trip in a couple of weeks we dont live to far but decided to stay at a nearby hotel for fun, still thinking about a character meal but haven't decided yet it's pricey over there so I've read.
