"Service Unavailable"?

I thought it was just me - I get it at about 5pm PST every day. Sometimes it lasts a few minutes, other times it’s hours.
 
That is on the technical forum..and I for one have never had anyone from tech ever answer me when I ask a question or post a problem. I have not only gotten the service unavailable thing, I have also gotten 'connection refused from server'.
Well, if you check that thread tech has been replying.
 

Happens randomly here and all other website continue working fine. I never clear cache/cookies as that never solves computer issues and just wipes out stored passwords on ALL other sites which is a total nuisance. It seems to randomly return on its own when I try a few hours later.

The thread on the tech forum seems like various users guessing what the problem is. I don't see anyone in an official DIS capacity stating what is wrong and/or how they plan to resolve it.

I still have Firefox and Edge down on my laptop
I can access with my phone
 
I turned off the VPN and it connected. Turned it back on and it stayed connected.
EDIT:
So this is happening on my phone as well which doesn't go through the VPN. Also, still intermittent on the laptop regardless of VPN status. I guess that wasn't it. Who knows..

Error on laptop. Running windows 11, edge browser, Comcast internet

Just fine on Safari on iPhone. Verizon cellular.
 
when it happens for me i also find that if i enter the dis on the 'is it down' website it runs it's test and shows that it's down from their perspective as well (yet i'm still able to access other sites).

He said----"So I think we may have an answer here. We do our DNS through a very respected old time company, they have been doing it since the beginning of the internet. Obviously I had contacted them when all this started and they assured me they checked and everything was fine. It must be other people's servers not updating. I contacted them today and was informed that "some people appear to be having similar issues" and that their engineering team will investigate. I will let you know when I get more details. "

Around midnite he posted this --"I will follow up with them tomorrow and eventually move DNS to somewhere else. Trying to do it now would just make things worse I suspect"
 
It’s been much worse for me today. I have had to use my iPhone‘s hot spot & data almost every time I tried to get on. Including right now.
 
I have had it intermittently, mostly on the iPad with Safari, because that is my primary internet tool, but also on my Windows laptop. I had one full day I couldn’t get in, but the rest of the time I just wait an hour or so and it goes away.
