Service Dogs There are several options available.
For attractions where Service Dogs are allowed, if the guest chooses not to have their dog ride with them, they will be able to use Rider Swap.

For attractions where Service Dogs are NOT allowed, the guest can choose to use Rider Swap OR those attractions will have portable kennels where the dog can stay while the whole group rides together

LOVE the kennel idea, one attraction offered them in the spring. Others we had to swap on, which was perfectly ok. We had mixed CM actions though which leads me to confusion. It was our first trip with our SD. Sometimes they asked for our 'card', other times we never were asked and they directed us to the wheelchair entrance if he could ride, he is a big doggie.

I am just confused over all because it was never clear to us before and now it is for sure even more confusing. What do we do with the changes? Especially since the procedure was treated hit or miss before and both our kids are SN on different levels.

I have read all the posts. Love the updates. You guys do an amazing job. Hope this is ok to ask. We have a trip coming up and I was going to ask even before the changes what the correct thing was to do anyway and if the rides all have kennels now in place. hehe... :lmao.

Hope this is ok to post. I really do not want to create a debate or anything. Just a mom looking for answers for a trip coming up.

You may have noticed the mysterious thread that says WDW - Disability Access Service Cards replace GACs. Please read post 1-3 before post
BUT, so far it is locked and there is only one post.

I'm working on that as fast as I can and it will be the place to ask questions.

But, to answer the questions you asked here -
Besides the parts you quoted, I've been told that people with SDs will not get a DAS unless they have needs that are not met just by having the SD with them.

I've also been told that attraction CMs are receiving training on the new system in general and also on how to accommodate guests at their attractions.

So, it should be less confusing

Yes, I am trying to figure it out. I think the Spring trip being our first trip with him was very confusing. It all depended on the CM if we needed a 'card' or not. But the end result was always the same. With out the SD we would need a DAS. We always used a 'card' before the SD. The SD just helps with my oldest and his multiple Dx's. My youngest is not quiet as severe.

Yep, saw and read the posts. You guys rock.:flower3:
