I do not agree with Gay Marriage. Gay Union or any other name than marriage yes go for it. I just don't think that my marriage- female and male- should be in the same title.
Again, if you use two different names for the same legal status, you do NOT have equality. Marriage is marriage, period. Yes, I'm repeating myself but... as long as there is a marriage of ideas, or a marriage of minds, or a marriage of flavors, "marriage" cannot be restricted to the legal wedded status of heterosexual couples only. Everybody is married, or everybody is in a civil union. THAT'S equal.

it's the reason I love Ellen, she doesn't find the need to broadcast because being Gay is just who she is.

First, do you remember when she came out? There was a HUGE thing - she was on the cover of every newspaper and magazine.

also, just for sake of argument - what is "broadcasting?" Ellen just got married in CA and released pics... is that broadcasting? Is my having a rainbow pin on my bag broadcasting? what about having short hair? can I hold hands with my gf in public?

I really am curious, as I am having this debate with others right now, what is "broadcasting?"

Yes I have a post count of 5. Everyone on this board started with 0 once. Are you really ridiculing me because I'm new?

I'm sorry if I offended you.

Let me address this one too. When 1st coming to a community like this people with good intentions usually start the conversation with a question about a park, or a ride, or a resort. When new to a community being helpful by answering a question about a park or a ride or a resort is generally considered a friendly way to introduce yourself.

Beginning the conversation with a dig against your fellow Dis'ers is usually considered in bad taste.

So yes, 5 posts out of the gate seems a bit soon to be starting out with such a mean spirited thread.

None of the things you stated above IMHO are broadcasting in an obnoxious way. I have short hair, i'm not gay, just lazy in the morning. I kiss my husband on the lips in public but I do not play tongue hockey.

You want to adopt children that no one wants MORE POWER TO YOU!

I'm sorry if I offended you.

Just a little word of advice for you...

Please watch the way you post things around here! We will tolerate a lot around here, but NOT language like that!

You are more than welcome to come over here and post your thoughts and opinions, but when you start dragging innocent children into the conversation it will not be tolerated.

Thank You.

OK, now I am angry. I am the adoptive mother of three bi-racial children, all grown now. I'm sure there have been many people over the years who viewed my children as "the children no one else wants". Well, honey, let me tell you-I wanted them! I wanted them more than I ever wanted anything on this earth. My children have never been, nor will they ever be, unwanted!

And yes, your post is offensive. Bigotry is not dead and one would think someone in a bi-racial relationship would realize that and try to be a little more tolerant. Ya think?

I was a former member of the board in '05 which was my last visit to Disney. Then i left, came back but forgot all my info so i had to start over. I'm no Dis virgin.

ok, so now I am confused. I still do not know what you consider broadcasting. People making out in public or engaging in non G-rated behavior? I agree, no one gay or straight should be doing that. So you mean that you dont like gay people/behaviors who are rude and inappropriate? Neither do I... I don't like ANYONE who is rude or inappropriate.

I think all of us here were a little confused as to why you chose to call out gay people...

so i think the point here is that rude people annoy us, no matter who they date... so lets not call anyone out.

Also, I was a little annoyed by your comment on why you dont agree with gay marriage - about it being the christian in you. I don't like gross generalizations, and I would suggest to avoid confusion in the future you say that it is your own religious beliefs that make you think that, not Christianity as a whole... some people will get very offended... just a general suggestion for these boards, since you are new here.

Even at that...so you've been gone for 5 years and your first new posts are stirring the pot?

Shame....

The internet savvy of trolls is astonishing to me. It took what? A few hours? For this poster to magically appear from that thread on this one? How did that happen?

If we ignore her will she "magically disappear"?? popcorn::

My beloved partner and I went to Orlando Pride (Come Out With Pride Orlando) today. It was the first time we've been able to make it to the Orlando Pride.

I saw your photos in the other thread Rosie! Thanks for posting!

I had a terrible time with the hate crimes section. It was one of those uncontrollable visceral reactions. I couldn't listen to the presentation (10 years since beautiful Matthew was murdered) and I couldn't look at the incredible display of other people we have lost through hatred and bigotry.

Every single time we'd walk near that display I'd immediately start lose composure (in a very hard hitting way). It is just too much sometimes. All those beautiful faces of people who have been killed in horrible fashion for no reason other than someone else's hatred turned deadly.

We were very pleased to see Disney leading the parade with those beautiful draft horses and lovely wagon. There was a nice contingent of CMs too, all in Disney shirts. Universal Studios was represented as well. They had some of their stilt walkers with them, and their marching employees all carried the flag.

The parade was about an hour long and there were hysterically funny moments, and then the personal struggle again when the Hate Crimes contingent passed.

I felt the presence of recognizing what HIV+ and AIDS has done to our community was not strong enough, nor was the presence of lesbians. :teeth:

But for the most part, it was an ok little job the organizers did! It's not Miami, and G-d help us, it's not NY, but hey-it was an organized event and I am happy that we attended.

Now if I could just get the image of those faces out of my head.

Making out in public is what offends me no matter who it is. I'm not a bigot. Just because I don't agree with some ideas concerning gay unions doesn't mean I don't support your right to be who you are.

My "union" is very much a part of "who I am". It's who I live with, who I share my life with, who I share my friends and family with. Once again, quite frankly, it's none of your buisness! It's between me, my partner, our God, and our Government.....and not you! But thanks for your concern.

After reading that thread, I've never felt so ashamed for being Irish in my life. :sad1:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

They say laughter adds to your life span-thanks you just put about 2 years on mine-I can't stop laughing-too funny!!!!

To Iheartedward-it has been asked but I haven't seen an answer(sorry if I might have missed it) but what exactly was it that bothered you so much that you felt the need to post? Was it a shirt and if so what did it say?? Was it PDAs? I am really curious as to what set you off so to say.

I had a big, long response typed out, but then figured, why subject everyone to that. Instead, let me just say, if you are offended by someone's clothing, look away. That's what I do when I see little kids in Hooter's shirts.
