I need help deciding on shoes! I ordered the Prima's and the "order a size down" method is WRONG! I had so many blisters on my feet after a day at work..I dont think I can return them to Zappos, but my question is what are my other options? I need a versatile shoe (like the primas -- i'm so bitter!) that will go with anything (sundresses and shorts) but the MJ's are out of the question. What about Choco's? Help me, DIS!

I am sorry about your Primas. I ordered some last week off shoebuy. I hope that they will work better for me. I love my Chocos! They have a few styles on clearance at REI.com. Go to REI outlet, and they are under footwear. Good luck.

I've posted on other threads about my experience with Primas. I finally got around to stretching out the toe area this weekend. It's a little better, but they are still tight. Here's what I did (and I'll do it more since I can't return mine either...):

take a hairdryer and soften the toe area inside and out. Do not heat up any other part of the shoe. Put on a medium-thick pair of socks, and stuff your foot into the prima. Heat again. Do all this sitting down, or you risk losing all shape and support in the shoe (I had previously tried the clothes dryer method used with other crocs, and walked around the house...the shoes completely flattened out so I had to throw them back in the dryer to regain their original shape). Let the shoes cool on your feet, wiggling your toes and flexing your feet as they cool. After they are cool (about 5 min or so), take them off. Take your socks off and try walking around in the primas to see if they have more room. If not, maybe try a thicker pair of socks and repeat.

I'm going to try thicker socks tonight...

I have some Chaco thongs I bought for my trip in May. I've been wearing them here and there to break them in and get a general feel for how they are on my feet. So far, I have to say that I really like them. I also bought a pair of Clark sandals that I am liking too. The one problem I've encountered is that the right shoe rubs the top of my foot a little weird. Some moleskin or a carefully placed bandaid and everything was ok, though. I went ahead and just bought my regular size in them and was fine.

I have some Privos too that I bought last year but really haven't worn them more than once :(

Your requirements for shoes sound a lot like my own. Here are some other brands you could try out: Ecco and Dankso. I am totally in love with the ecco x-treme mary janes that I bought this year. They are so comfortable and cute. I also LOVE my regular danskos so I'm contemplating buying a pair of sandals to try out too. Both Ecco and Dansko make shoes that should meet your requirements.

I love the Keen brand. I first read about their Newport sandals on this board! I love them. They were the only shoes I ever wore to WDW that didn't leave me with blisters and sore legs at the end of a long day.

You can try them on at REI or other similar stores. I purchased them online, much better selection of colors.

I also like Teva sandals, the ventura cork. They look dressier and are comfy, too.

OMG! This really worked! Thank you SOOO much. :woohoo: I still havent given them a "real" test drive yet they seemed to stretch out more. I think I'm going to do it again tonight to stretch out the toes one more time.

you're welcome! :goodvibes so glad I could help.

I'm wearing my primas today without socks, and they are not bad. They were a bit snug when I put them on in the morning, but walking around they have softened up. They are still kind of tight when I walk, though, so I'm going to have to stretch them out again tonight. I might put a rolled-up thin sock or something in the toe area, then do the socks/hair dryer method. I just need a tiny bit more room, and I think I'll be good to go... :thumbsup2 I hate wearing shoes without socks, so I hope I can stretch the primas out enough to wear those hidden socks (Hue hidden cotton liners - the best).
