I need someone to pass me a chill pill....afte the whole mess with Lily/trade yesterday I wanted to go back in this morning to see if she would fix it. Let's just say I lost MUCH more than a pin in that host game yesterday. When I tried to go back in - it was almost 3:20 and I got to first in queue and dc'd at 3:43. So I think,...I'll get in first thing this morning and see if she can do ANYTHING,..I mean I've been SICK since the thing yesterday.

I search for Lily at 8:29 and OMG..I NEVER get in right away - but I did....no queue, nothing just right into the room. Lily says hello to everyone and I don't want to bombard her ya know? Then she asks how everyone is and I think "NOW I'll tell her the trade never went through..." I say, "I'm sad Lily" and BAM.... Internet Explorer has encountered an error and it must close...poof gone... and now ? I can't get back in line with a too full queue. Uhh...could anything else go wrong?

I have been sitting here..first in queue for 5 minutes now.... I don't even know what to say.

DOES ANYONE ELSE have this happen to them? That you will be in line and it is like you are STUCK? I can't be dc, I've only been logged on for 15 minutes.... I was in line before I was stuck at 38 for about 12 minutes then it jumped to 18 and then I was dc...could it be something with the way my computer contacts their computer? A firewall or something?

Lily was giving me a random gift...along with our pin trade...it was my 3rd time in the chair after 2 dc's..and I had helped someone in line. Well she put up the gift...then the pin....I almost fell out of my chair....my girls were screaming, I was screaming..then we both pressed complete trade....complete trade...complete trade...complete trade....and boom DC...trade never completed.

I tried to get back in and dc first in queue...

Sorry to hear about this. Amongst all of us on the boards, many a pin trades in the host events that did not get completed. Frustrating as it is - seems it's part of the challenge.

It probably won't make you feel better - but I haven't evern been able to try the last 2 pin trading events due to family commitments. I wonder if vmk would ever schedule a pin trading event on January 1st or Easter? I doubt it.

Again, sorry the dc got you at a bad time. It's the worst!

although you might wait a while for a response. This is the sort of thing that usually does get corrected from the contact us option at the website. You need to provide as much information as you can. They can review their logs and they can verify it. The time and the room name, and host lily, what the item was. EVERYTHING you can think of is relevant and will help them identify that a problem occured that was no fault of your own.

ok I tried that - I probably could have given them more info, like time, etc..but I did tell them what she had put up and what happened with the dc. I know what you felt from last time with Hula, I am really sorry for you and it must be more awfull for you, if it was a gift that you really wanted

Emery,...I'm a little leery of saying outright what it was...because I don't want people bombarding her with "can I have a..." kwim? It wasn't sparrow or inferno...but it was a really great gift and it was going to be very special because it was given to me by a host..if that makes any sense.

I have not been able to get into ANY of the pin trades this month at all.

Aww, I'm sorry you're so upset Peasy. There's been a few times I dc when I've won a host game. I did the contact us IN GAME, limited space and dictionary, but the only time they didn't correct it was...pin trading seat. I may not have contacted them right away for that one and probably because so many people dc in that chair they don't want to bother researching them all. I'd say your special gift would give reason to ask her about it and she would probably remember right off and say "yeah, give it to that sweet girl!"

So sorry this happened to you Peasy. I would also wait a little longer and hope the contact us comes through for you. Meanwhile, keep your head up and hopes up. We all come the point of giving up but then friends come right along and remind you why we are here in the first place.

I rarely play host games. My 1st host game was around Halloween when there was a game to win inferno. I got the right number on the generator. But the inferno never showed up because I dc'd. I wrote a note to the black hole immediately and with in a couple hours it was in the inventory! So whatever you did not receive should be taken care of as well. It would show up in their log, so I don't see any problems for you.

Thanks for all your kind words...I just have to remember not to get so worked up about this stuff. When you are in it, RIGHT THEN - it's SO frusterating. There have been a few times I have literally wanted to just delete my account and walk away - just because life stressful enough as it is and I think "why do I do this to myself?" I will admit both of the times I've been there - it's been because of the these host games.

When I saw the new calendar and saw the item in question will be a prize next month... my spirits were very much lifted and I've already moved on mentally. I'll let you know if I get a response from the black hole...the log is there, they just have to find it. But yeah, you have to wonder how many contacts they get after a pin trading event.

I wish they could have two hosts/two lines in those rooms, I think it would really help - but then they would probably have issues with cutting, arguing, etc.

OH...AND a HUGE thank you to Qruthie, Purple Duck & Miakoda...you all took some time to sit and chat with me when I was down.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience Peasy (my 57 Friend!). I had a similar experience on Saturday with Lily's Tron Trades. I got dc 2 times while waiting in Q for about 20 minutes each. On my third attempt, after about 25 minutes I made it to the room, took a couple steps towards the water slide line start and got dc.

On my fourth attempt I made it into the room again (~25 minutes), got on the water slide line. It was great! I was chatting with people, having a good ol' time in my inner tube. I made it to trade with Lily and I asked to trade for a Master Gracie pin (I have none of the Mansion pins, but I liked this one and already had a lightcycle pin). She put it into the trade window along with a special gift - a Stack of Presents. Now I think I know what you were offerred and I would have lost my head over that too as I really want that (again, if what I suspect is true), but I was thrilled over the presents also! I was thanking her and she has already clicked approval. I did too. The second verification window popped up and I clicked the ok to approve - And Pow! dc!

I was struck dumb!

I attempted to log back into VMK, but it crashed. I tried again and got in. I went into a room and checked my inventory. I still had my old pin and didn't have the new pin or presents. By this point it was like 3:20p and the event was due to end at 3:30p. I tried to get back into Q and made it! I even got into the room again! I got on the slide line again! I announced to Lily that I was back to finish trade. I made it all the way up to the end of the line - I was next to trade! Pow! dc again!

I was pulling out my hair with saddness, frustration and anger.

I got back into game and found the room gone. I was so distraught.

I know this is supposed to be a game and I shouldn't let it get to me, but sheesh, I had wasted 2 hours of my life to get this virtual trade and nada. I went to a room and shouted out calling on the Hosts, Staff, Lily, etc. No response. I sent a message via Contact Us and the Help button. No response.

Fortunately, my story has a (mixed) happy ending. I got into Lily's room Sunday morning. I asked if she remembered me from Saturday, she said she did and even though it wasn't a trading room she immediately initiated a trade with me. In that window she said: "I wondered why I still had presents left - what was the pin again?" I told her and we completed the trade.

Of course I was happy. I hung out a while and Lily said we would all play Trivia for a prize. I was the first to answer but before I got my prize I was dc. I made it back in the room, only now Hula was there, she was having dc problems of her own, and I didn't think she would know about the Trivia game anyway so I didn't bring it up. I plan to ask Lily about it later.

Hula ended up doing a teleporter game and I was one of the winners (got a lightcycle pin). So that was cool. But I was hoping for a Lily Trivia prize as I have heard she's giving out something very nice (the thing you lost I think).

Ah well... It's a long way to go to say that I have felt your pain, and to remind that it'll work out I'm sure!
