We just returned a few days ago from a trip to Disney World and Sea World. Our first day at Sea World was fantastic, but the second day, not so great.

We parked our grandson's stroller in a designated stroller area before entering the Sea Port Theatre to see the Pets Ahoy show (which, by the way, held our 17 month old grandson absolutely spellbound:)) and when we returned to the stroller area after the show, our stroller was missing.

We checked several other areas just to be sure, but nope, no stroller. My husband found a security guy and explained what had happened. The security guy got in touch with another security person and radioed guest services to send over a rental stroller for us to use. He told us to keep checking back with guest services throughout the day in case someone turned the stroller in, and he had us file a report.

Long story short, on our way out of the park, we checked with guest services. As we were describing the stroller, another couple (they were also in guest services because someone had taken their stroller) heard us and said they knew where our stroller was. Apparently, someone had taken their stroller and left ours in its place. The other stroller was a very expensive stroller, so I guess the person(s) ditched our cheaper model for a better one.

Anyway, we finally got our stroller back, minus our grandson's Disney fleece blanket and my LL Bean jacket. Now I know it isn't a good idea to leave anything unattended in a stroller, but I seriously didn't think someone would steal a baby's blanket OR a stroller.:sad2: Unbelievable!

About fifteen years ago, we had an expensive camera stolen at the Magic Kingdom. We had accidentally left it hanging on the back of a stroller while riding the train around the MK. I realized it was missing after the train was already halfway around the park. I was positive that the camera would still be there when we returned. Of course, it wasn't. Nobody ever turned it in to lost and found either.

Anyone else ever have something go missing from the parks?

Housekeeping helped themselves to my chef's knife when we were at OKW for Christmas. We were doing a fairly big dinner so I brought the good knives (we drive) and yep... they went missing.

All sorts of excuses from housekeeping, housekeeping supervisor and management but no knives.

Had a person in our party leave a camera on a bench and yes, it was gone when she went back, and no it wasn't turned in. Don't leave things behind, that's the clear message, eh?

Now, we don't bring anything good (cookware/cutlery) wise. (Nor anything of any great value at all. Cameras and cells stay with us at all times).

Hard to believe someone could stoop so low in the land of magic...a baby stroller and blankie!!! :sad2:

It must happen quite often, when we were there someone stole my DD's cell phone!

Blizzard Beach Jan. '06 from our pool bag while we were at lunch:

1) disposable water camera
2) DS's goggles
3) DS's new Star Wars Lego toy (don't know why he brought that with us anyway :headache:)

When we told security about it, they gave us a brand new water camera & had Hollywood Studios send over a brand new Lego toy to our resort room that evening. We hadn't even asked them to do any of that. Very nice!

*Now we always, and I repeat ALWAYS get a locker at the waterparks.

Yeah, we don't leave anything important with Christian's wheelchair. It looks like a large umbrella stroller and we keep his backpack full of diapers, extra clothes and sunscreen on the back. So far nobody has bothered it, but it wouldn't surprise me if someone lifted it. It's just the right size for pushing a large child around.

A couple of years ago my sister left her stroller outside of 50's Prime Time and she and I left two opened bottles of water in it. Came out and someone had drank out of the one and put it back in the stroller. :scared:

My sister had only taken one drink out of hers and put it in the folded top of the stroller, when we came back it was only a 1/4 full and sitting in the seat.

Twenty some years ago our umbrella stroller was stolen at Disneyland, outside of Bear Country Jamboree. At the time I thought maybe some one hadn't brought one, regretted it and "borrowed" ours. However hearing so many stories exactly like this over the years, I'm sure used strollers are big sellers at swap meets and on craig's list. :sad1:

You would not imagine the amount of strollers abandoned at the parks. No matter which one you go to. It is sad that people stoop that low to take some one else's stroller.

I've had my fair share of things gone missing. Including a brand new tent off my site. We had reservations at Le Celliers for lunch. I had the tent and a few things in the truck bed, which I decided to unload since we got an early check in. Went to lunch, then came back home to get the rest of our stuff. (i think it was halloween weekend, and we always stayed at the Fort).
When we returned that afternoon, everything was gone off the site. And no one had an explanation. Filed a report with Disney and they sent a letter a week later stating "it was no fault of their own" so sucks to be you. We still had a tent, but it's getting old and worn out, and I was excited about using the new one for the first time.

At Animal Kingdom, someone snagged my camera off a bench, while it was sitting right next to me!!! I was messing with the video camera, so didn't notice.:sad1: Now, we always make sure someone has their hand on everything at all times!

Baby blankets, strollers, camera's What the heck are people thinking????
Sad commentary on the selfishness of some people to take what does not belong to them, just GROSS!
We use the safe in our room, we use lockers at parks and carry anything else (which is very limited) on our person.
The only hint I can say is make your stroller TACKY and have streamers/ribbons or anything that makes it totally stand out and very obvous, perhaps the "Yucky thieves" will pass it up :confused3 sorry to hear of thefts. So very un-disney like,

Security at Sea World was really nice, too. They were quick to send a rental stroller over to where we were waiting and when we checked with guest services at the end of the day, they gave our grandson some Shamu stickers and a stuffed Shamu. Of course, our grandson had no idea that his stroller was missing. I wasn't too crazy about the rental because it was hard plastic and too big for a 17 month old, but Carter was happy to ride around in it. I think he thought it was just another attraction.:lmao: He did however, look for his blanket a few times.

THAT is strange!

A few weeks ago my youngest DS brought his refillable mug to MK, I did not realize it till we were on the bus. We had a stroller and I tried to hide the mug in the stroller after we parked it to go on a ride it was gone. I realize he should have not taken it to the park but I am really mad someone would do that. KARMA (I hope).

Sorry your jacked and blanket went missing, some people are really mean sometimes.

Somewhere (might've been the Unofficial Guide), I read that a tactic that has been used successfully before is to take a clean diaper, put it in a transparent plastic bag, and then pour a little Mountain Dew on it to make it look "used." Hang it prominently off the back of the stroller (or set it on top, maybe), and it makes it a little less appealing to a thief.

They also mentioned doing things like a PP mentioned--lots of ribbons or bandannas or anything that's going to make it stand out from all the other strollers.

Sorry to all of you who've had stuff stolen! That's such a feeling of violation, definitely not something you'd expect at WDW!

In 1995, I went to DL with my brother, sister-in-law, my 4 yr old twin nephews & my 1 1/2 yr old niece. I had given the boys Mickey Mouse baseball hats when their sister was born, and the were wearing them that trip. Joe's hat was a little small, and one day when we were at the park (in those days, DL was only MK), we noticed it wasn't on his head anymore. We backtracked a bit & couldn't find it. Then my SIL noticed some kids at a table had it. She didn't want to say anything to them, but I'm from NY--I went up to the kids & asked them if they saw it. By the time she told me, they had ditched the hat & wouldn't admit that they had done it. And they never turned them in to lost & found either. These kids were at least 12--there was no way in heck the hat fit any of them. Sometimes I wonder if karma did anything to them. They had to have seen it fall off Joe's head, and they took it anyway.

We had our 2 daughter's baby blankets stolen from the baskets on our rented stollers over 20 years ago. My girls were one and three at the time. We parked the strollers outside of the rest rooms and when we returned to the stollers, about 5 minutes later, the blankets were gone. Nothing else was left in the stollers and the blankets were nothing special to look at just solid pink with satin edging, and they were worn and not knew by any standard.

It was a chilly night so I guess someone wanted to warm up their own kid at the expense of someone elses.

When we took my godson to Disney we rented him a stroller, we were there with Make a Wish and he was in the middle of chemo treatments so he was tired and couldn't walk far. We were on the other side of the park and come out of a ride and the stroller is gone so one of us runs to the front to get another....this one we tape a sign to saying "please don't take my stroller, I have cancer and can't walk far"... of course that one ends up being taken to!! Who would take a stroller from a child with cancer???? Hope karma bites them right in the butt!!!!!

At MK, There's 5 spots throughout the park that you can get a replacement... And generally if you tell a CM, they'll go get you one in no time at all.

But for personal stuff... that's just wrong. It's crazy the things people have to do to prevent idiots from ruining a trip.
