Seriously...what are our chances?

So as we know the free dining plan dates were announced for 2011 and it looks like we are going to have to get used to less and less of these days in the future..

I'm planning a trip for my wife and I for late January 2012....what do you think our chances are of Disney announcing free dining for the winter value season?

I'm thinking that as attendance is "low" for this time of year (prob. the lowest of the year depending on who you talk to) it is possible for dates to be announced for this stretch...What do you think?????

To be honest it would be the same as predicting the next president of the USA.

No one knows. There really isn't a way to "figure" it out. Only the powers that be at Disney know.

The patterns are not particularly evident -- it used to be a lot more consistent, but now it seems to trickle out semi-randomly.

At a non-peak time, your chances are certainly much better than at busier times, but there are no guarantees. You can increase your odds by being on the email (or snail mail) lists for PIN codes or by having a Disney VISA card.

If you plan on going regardless of whether you get the free dining offer, book the best deal you can find as soon as possible, and then try to switch deals if a better one comes along.

You could get lucky like we did and get a free dining pin code. . .we're using it on our July trip!

Has free dining ever been offered in January? My husband says he will never go to Disney without the dining plan (free or not) but do I even dare get my hopes up that it might be offered?

It has most certainly been offered in January, but with the powers that be scaling back the freebies Im keeping my fingers crossed for 2012.
